"The business had been going quite well. They had just expanded massively and moved business premises from Kenmore to Taringa, hired a whole bunch of new sales staff and the floods hit, so the cash flow stopped," Mr Christ said.
He said he met with Mr Baden-Clay and friends Robert Cheesman and Peter Cranna one night to discuss the business.
"We saw full financial records ... before we were going to do anything we needed to see those records and understand what was going on," Mr Christ said.
"We all met together that particular evening."
He said the business would be unable to continue without an urgent cash injection.
"There was no cash in the bank to pay the bills," Mr Christ said.
"Over a period of three payments, we gave the business, Gerard and Allison, $90,000. Pete may have given more."
