so where is this long story of gbcs life taking us? will he sheepishly admit they had a big fight that night and allison suicided at home out in the carport and they covered it up for the sake of the girls, or after their fight allison stormed off and either jumped off the bridge or some stranger put her there?
blood in the car could have been from allison trying to put the back seat down for some reason that night and cut herself on the catch?
and all his lies explained away as confusion and grief

Baden-Clay trial has resumed with more from defence barrister Michael Byrne.



Byrne says when Gerard and Toni resumed contact it was via text, email and occasionally meeting up. #badenclay

Byrne says Gerard would appease Toni when she pressured him to leave. He never intended to leave Allison. #badenclay

Byrne says Gerard gave Toni a date but never intended to stick to it. #badenclay

Byrne says the last time Gerard and Toni had "physical relations" was in early 2012. #badenclay

Byrne says after that, Gerard and Allison were in counselling and his physical relationship with his wife resumed. #badenclay

Byrne says Gerard went with Allison to the counselling session and agreed to the "venting" process. #badenclay

Byrne says they "had a go at it" on the Monday night and revisited it on April 18. #badenclay

2:35pm: "He had no intetion of being with her and he would appease her and when she demanded to know when they would be together he gave her a date of July. He said he did that knowing it wouldn't happen ... and he was hoping that that would be the trigger for her to move on and do other things," Mr Byrne said.

"He'll tell you that he did, following the September break-up [with Ms McHugh] and after contacting her in December ... did on two occasions have physical relations."

Mr Baden-Clay's last sexual encounter with Ms McHugh was in late January, early February 2012.

"He had recommenced his physical relationship with his wife," Mr Byrne said.

Byrne says in 2009, Allison started attending counselling sessions. Gerard never revealed the affair, but they did begin to communicate.

Byrne is taking the jury through the afternoon of April 19. Allison had a hair appointment. Gerard's other collected the girls from school.
