I think GBC was terrified of Allison and Toni running into each other at the conference. His lies to Allison would have been exposed and I think he thought divorce was a real possibility. Divorce would have cost him his business. He would no longer be father-of-the-year/business-man extraordinaire. I assume the 'presidential' positions he held were elected? His business partners would have found out that he'd been lying to them and ditched him. His family would have berated him for being so stupid. He would look like someone losing control. I am convinced that with all this in his mind, he killed Allison to protect his image. I wonder what's worse to a narcissist like Gerard. Having his professional and personal life unravel in public at huge financial expense, or go to prison for murder and spend the rest of his life denying it?

Poor Allison....holding her close in thoughts...

And what her parents, family & friends must be thinking now...heartbreaking for them to listen to his sordid details

Agree, Doc. I think if she was changed out of her PJs by another, it was done in the house, and probably the bedroom. By far the most practical solution.

Doc, after death the sphincter muscles relax and fluid escapes etc. Wouldn't those PJ's have been effected? sheets? floor? unless a tarp or something else was used? or she was suffocated on the back patio which could then be hosed down, etc? Same with the car and fluids - wouldn't a tarp have been protective of the seats, etc? Your thoughts would be helpful IMO.

It's my belief GBC wasn't in relationships for the sex at all

It was so he could become the centre of a woman's attentions and energies

It's the attention his narcissistic self needed

He gave women sex in return for ego satisfaction

EXACTLY! I was going to write the same today - you have put it perfectly Laserdisc10. He's nowhere near the sex addict others have painted him - the chase, adulation and needy dramas far outweigh the sexy times.

This is IMHO the root (!) cause of his claimed sexless marriage - once that ring was on the finger and the babies came along to steal his thunder, that was it. Those entries in Allison's journal confirmed that in my mind. I hope the prosecution hammers home those two entries in their summing up.

The jury is now going to see the video #badenclay

The defence has submitted tidal information #badenclay
I hope they are showing a graph as well. This is a lay jury they need pictures if this info is to benefit the defence......but I doubt the defence would be showing graphical info of tide height....you would need high mathematical knowledge to explain it and they have not asked for an expert to explain....good try....wont work tho

The video was retrieved from Kholo Creek on June 20. It's being shown to the court #badenclay

Yes I think Allison had given him an ultimatum for sure...

Text copied TM's statement #2

12. I recall Gerard taking this ultimatum to mean that if he had chosen to leave Allison that she would take away his daughters and potentially interfere and take control of his business assets.

Incontinence on or immediately after death is certainly not uncommon, particularly if it has been a violent death. So yes, those PJs may well have held vital clues. And likewise for transporting a body.

David Murray ‏@TheMurrayD 53s

The video shows debris such as branches floating back and forth along Kholo Creek with the tide over time #badenclay

Caroline Overington ‏@overingtonc 40s

The jury is now seeing a second video taken from a slightly different angle #badenclay

Morning everyone :) I've got to say I'm a bit disappointed that the cross-examination ended so quickly. I expected a lot more hammering to happen today :/ I hope it wasn't wound up quickly due to time constraints? I'm just hoping again that the tone and delivery of GBC's answers (that we aren't really aware of here) also had some impact on the jury.

Pfft at his sneaky mention of other conquests - only some of them discussed at trial eh? He comes across as a needy creep, honestly. He must have been terribly draining to live with for years - if there were any doubts about the reasons or triggers for Allison's depression, I think he has surely cleared that up nicely over the past few days.

I think I know which option he would take now if he had the chance.

Still...he may just cling to the third option: him being found innocent.

He probably thinks he's a decent chance of getting away with it.
