But is there a crime scene? And if so where is it? These are questions that will be put to the jury during closing arguments. I want to see justice for Allison and her family as much as anyone (justice in whatever way that may be) but unfortunately I cannot be as confident as you.
Some thoughts from court this morning ...
Quotes of the day:
Todd Fuller: "You killed your wife, Mr Baden-Clay." There it was. Put to GBC at last.
Todd Fuller: If TMcH confronted Allison at the conference the façade that was GBC would fall.
GBC: Some of the things I said and did were pretty naïve and pretty stupid.
Some general observations:
It was a very different GBC under cross-examination. He slipped-up, or came close to slipping-up, on a number of occasions. The questioning was intense.
Todd Fuller is brilliant. His strategy of mixing it up has kept GBC well and truly on his toes. Danny Boyle presents in a different way. His questioning of Dr Schramm was very effective he highlighted the general nature of his assessment , that it was not based on firsthand knowledge of Allison and her situation, and went on to present a list of factors specific to Allison, all of which (I believe) Dr Schramm agreed would likely reduce the risk of suicide.
I believe the prosecution team is doing an awesome job. They know their stuff.
I dont believe for a moment the defence team wanted GBC to take the stand. They are doing what they can to defend their client. I sensed an air of resignation today as they were finishing up but that may have been my imagination.
All IMHOO. :twocents:
Same in the Keli Lane case in NSW
Go Fuller! Go Fuller!!!!!!!!Mr Fuller: Was she working at Raine and Horne when you were there?
Mr Baden-Clay: Yes.
Mr Fuller: So you worked for them for a time, got your experience?
Mr Baden-Clay: Correct.
Mr Fuller: And then set up right next door?
Mr Baden-Clay: Correct.
Mr Fuller: Did you sleep with Michelle Hammond while you were still working for Raine and Horne or when you set up next door?
Mr Baden-Clay: It was after I had left Raine and Horne.
Mr Fuller: So you took their business and then had an affair with one of their employers?
Mr Baden-Clay: Correct.

Gerard is being shown a page from Allison's journal. He is being asked what a series of numbers mean. He doesn't know. #badenclay
During.
And wonder where Hawkins went?
Her husband phoned Asteron Life Insurance on May 1, 2012, the day after Allison was found.
Mr Baden-Clay asked how he could make a claim on his wife's life insurance.

Is anyone able to help me understand the significance of this page being presented to GBC by defence at the end of his time on the stand this morning?
(He must be fuming that he didn't find Allison's journal under the bedside table that morning)
Thanks. Would be interested to hear from Alioop and also the long absent Hawkins. JCB, do you know what the difference is between unlawful killing and manslaughter?
according to the charges, there are two crime scenes.. one for each charge.. and it is significant in the extreme that there are two differing locations..
murder.... at Brookfield, at her residence.
interfering with a corpse.... at the Kholo bridge..
Same here but it was in a public domain so....All I can think of is the blog.
A series of numbers could be the debt ...

Don't know. He's weak and he's a rat. Rat's will chew off their own leg to be free. Having weighed the odds, GBC might go for a lesser charge for less time in the clink as opposed to risking a whole lot more time inside
You can see here an article about the body discovery.

On 30th Apr 2012 1:05 PM they announced a body had been found at 11:00 AM
Article was Updated: 1st May 2012 8:09 AM to say it was Allison.
:dunno:
That's how I interpret it.
So maybe it is an urban myth that they claimed too soon.
:dunno:
Could be dates of meetings/phone calls/texts etc between GBC and TM?
