Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 28s
Byrne says this was the opinion of Gerard's close friend Rob Cheesman. #badenclay

Yes BUT his friends stood to be the losers there and given his "reputation" he would not want that to happen -especially with friends who could give him lots of money

That Gerard #badenclay was motivated by financial stress to murder his wife is "just a furphy", defence says.

That's it damn it..damn it....I refuse to listen to these lies...cannot believe the Law what a joke.

Caroline Overington ‏@overingtonc 53s

Certainly not the kind of pressure that would lead him to kill his wife #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 37s
Byrne says Gerard's other friend Stuart Christ also went through financial records. #badenclay

Love how he had to use "friends" to back him up - was it because NO EXPERT would?

If he was doing so well, why were they months and months behind on all their payments, and begging for money from their local member? Why did they have to get an extension on their insurance payment? What a load of rubbish!

You don't have sympathy for him, Allison, family, that's not how it works - defence #badenclay
How do you pass over that, media says he did it - defence #badenclay

Sarah Greenhalgh ‏@GreenhalghSarah 1m
Defence: "You do not make excuses for the absence of evidence, because Allison is dead & someone should be punished" #badenclay @tennewsqld

BBM.

Re the emphasis on the media - do you think they will use media misrepresentation as grounds for appeal if he is found guilty, they seem to be insinuating that the media have been inferring he is guilty...

You don't borrow money if you arn't under finanacial pressure.

Sarah Elks ‏@sarahelks 1m
Barrister Michael Byrne, for Gerard #badenclay , apologises to jury for acting like a 'broken record' - they need to look at the evidence

Leonie Mellor ‏@leoniemellor 1m
Byrne: on the evidence you'd be satisfied there was not this financial pressure, let alone to kill. "It's a furphy." @abcnews #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 58s

We are adjourning for lunch. Back at 2.30pm. #badenclay

Yes, it is not unusual for nobody to hear anything. I think I'm outside the norm, the smallest thing can wake me yet as a child, I lived near a train line that regularly had large diesel freight trains running at all hours and never heard them.

It's been bugging me that he has carried on about the girls not hearing anything so much. They were sound asleep - if children awoke to every sound they hear from their bedtime onward, we'd all be stark raving mad. The majority of children can and do sleep through the noises of their household and neighbourhoods every single night. I don't know of any homes where the rest of the house is silenced after the kids are put to bed - I'd say most children are able to sleep through the noise of the older family members talking (and arguing sometimes), watching tv, playing music, washing up and doing other chores, heck ... even partying with friends.
Don't start me on how long it takes teens when you actually want them to get up and about!

Gerard could legally have walked away from his business #badenclay

Why would he need to walk away if he wasn't under finanacial pressure? You don't walk away from a profitable business.

if he could have walked away, why didn't he?? he couldn't.. his identity was tied up in that Yellow Jacket.. his entire psyche was seen thru the prism of Mr Big Time RealEstate guru.. it was because he couldn't walk away from it, that he murdered his wife..
