Byrne says it is one thing to say you went to Kholo Creek and you didn't see certain types of plants. #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 1m
Byrne says the jury needs to look at the catchment area of the creek and the tidal flows. #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 23s
Byrne says the real and perhaps only explanation on how fresh and old leaves were found on the body ten days later is from water. #badenclay

I can't believe how much crap can be used in a summing up? The video show only movement on the day and time it was taken - they have used NO correct tidal information at all in that!

Let's hope the prosecution points all this out!!

David Murray ‏@TheMurrayD 1m
Defence says its time lapse video shows body could have been moved in the water and jumper could have been pulled up by water #badenclay

Oh so he's ignoring the fact that the autopsy shows she was in that position very soon after death?

Sarah Elks ‏@sarahelks 34s
Barrister Michael Byrne, for #badenclay, wants to play the time lapse video for the jury, but there are "technical difficulties as usual"
Defence is saying its time lapse video can explain how the six leaf species turned up in Allison's hair, ie not from her backyard #badenclay

If you knew you were going to have to invite police into your home your would be making sure there was nothing incriminating to be found. If you were going to give your wife your phone you also would be making sure there was nothing incriminating on it. And we all know how one does that!!! JMO.

Oh gawd, more of the time-lapse footage! They don't even show where Allison's body was in relation to the water. What a bunch of ......rubbish

and the botanist is a bloke from Olivia's church???

Clutching at (crepe myrtle) straws

Sarah Elks ‏@sarahelks 54s
Byrne has now asked for a photograph of Allison's body in situ, at Kholo Creek, to be shown to jury. He's pointing out her hair. #badenclay

Damn, I spoke too soon.

Leonie Mellor ‏@leoniemellor 29s
Byrne: "These aren't lightweights in an accounting sense." speaking of #badenclay's three friends who provided $275,000 in loans. @abcnews

David Murray ‏@TheMurrayD 51s
Friend Peter Cranna was a church financial controller. And Stuart Christ was a HP executive. Not lightweights - defence #badenclay

Sarah Elks ‏@sarahelks 53s
Defence: Three smart friends of Gerard #badenclay loaned him money. "These aren't lightweights in an accounting sense."

Sarah Greenhalgh ‏@GreenhalghSarah 24s
Defence says #badenclay wasn't under financial pressure. "Had substantial assets at the time" (April 2012) @tennewsqld

These smart friends weren't so smart because they lent the money before getting the agreement in writing and signed. That is definitely not smart and if that is the way they do business may I suggest others avoid them at all costs lol

The court is shown photo of Allison's body under Kholo Creek bridge before time lapse video played #badenclay

Sarah Elks ‏@sarahelks 45s
"It pains me to say this, but just bear that image (of Allison's body) in mind," Byrne tells jury. TIme lapse playing now. #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 36s
Some of Allison's family leave the courtroom while photographs of her body are shown to the jury by the defence. #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 1m
Byrne points out Allison's hair where he says leaves could have been caught up. #badenclay

The court is being shown the time lapse video of the tidal flows in Kholo Creek again. #badenclay

Ohhhh FFS!!!

Tessa Scott ‏@TessaScott9 35s
Jury is now looking at timelapse of tides at Kholo Creek. Defence says it could explain plant matter in hair. @9NewsBrisbane #badenclay

Kate Kyriacou @KateKyriacou · 3s
Byrne points to area where "you might think" the body "probably" was. Tells the jury to watch how much water rose to that level. #badenclay

:floorlaugh: OMG - Yeh good try love

This is where I speculated yesterday that the prosecution was going to come undone. Insufficient botanical surveying and the failure to investigate Ms Apps' admission effectively killed off 2 of the prosecutions strongest leads.

Even if you argued that the Ms Apps' evidence was not necessarily fatal to the prosecution cause in itself, if it had come to light earlier then I am quite certain that the PT would have restructured their case in a not insignificant manner. I'm sure Messrs Boyle and Fuller wanted to tear their hair out when informed that investigators had completely overlooked something so vital.

David Murray ‏@TheMurrayD 37s
Michael Byrne asks the jury to consider the amount of debris shown moving along Kholo Creek #badenclay

Sarah Elks ‏@sarahelks 46s
Defence's Byrne: take notice of size and volume of debris moving up and down Kholo Creek in the timelapse footage. #badenclay

Funny that she had no other debris besides the 6 species of plants from their porch. You'd think she'd have had all types of stuff in her hair if the creek is full of debris and her hair was in it.

So let's see him explain how the Crepe Myrtle leaves came to be in Allison's hair via the creek

If the plants in her hair were from water there would have been more variety of plants that were not found at the BC home surely.
Why does nature and water flow pick out the very plants found at the house to deposit into her hair. That a pretty big long shot surely.
