I just read the Dickie's statement. That family is all class and I hope the media does continue to give them the respect and privacy they deserve.

I'm intrigued as to why GBC's mother has not been called to give evidence.

Maybe she has a medical certificate for ill health? Or she's a loose cannon and hard to coach what to say? jmo

Wowee and here we go folks! Clear your schedule and strap yourself in for a wild emotional ride...

I cannot begin to fathom what we will hear and how much we will learn.

I hope everyone remembers to look after yourselves! This will take an emotional toll on us all and at times we may need to step away for a bit.

This is a journey we've all shared and we're all going to be together, supporting each other and see this to the very end.

Collectively we're all sending strength to the Dickies and those precious girls and I'm sure they're feeling it.

GAH I'm already emotional...

Gerard BC Parents and sister arriving to court with Peter Shields

Hi everyone, just able to check in now and wonderful to see so many of us here in spirit for Allison. Feeling emotional. I wonder if OW and the BC parents are inside the courtroom or waiting in a separate (witness) area - can't wait to hear from our insiders if any are there today.

Edited to add: I am catching up reading now and this has been answered, the father and sister are witnesses! Hopefully called on a day I am able to attend!

It's a pleasure to have you all back, :grouphug: and I see a few new faces! :welcome:

To our guests, please join us as we gather together and see that Allison gets justice! :rocker:

:welcome3:

Oh gosh. I feel sick. Can only imagine how Allison's family and friends must be feeling. We've waited for so long and here we are. Fingers crossed and thanks to all those posting media links etc.

12:06pm: Earlier, a list of 77 potential witnesses was read out to prospective jurors in the Supreme Court.

Among the potential witnesses was MP Bruce Flegg, the Member for Moggill and a neighbour of the Baden-Clays in the west Brisbane suburb of Brookfield.

The accused's father Nigel Baden-Clay and sister Olivia Walton are also among the potential witnesses, as well as Allison's parents Priscilla and Geoff Dickie.

Recorded interviews with the Baden-Clays' three daughters could also be played to the court.

A number of police officers, forensic and scientific experts, and neighbours of the Baden-Clays are expected to give evidence during the four-week trial.

The Australian

Mr Boyle said both Allison and Gerard Baden-Clay’s parents would be potential witnesses, as well as Mr Baden-Clay’s sister and Allison’s best friend.

Recorded interviews with the couple’s three children may also be played for the court.

Just checking in, and catching up with this thread.

I'll be following while working - I can't be in court, unfortunately.

Hopefully all the medical-type evidence will be explained well enough for the jury.

Happy to answer any lingering questions though, if any arise that aren't explained adequately by the court.

Or at least, I can try... :) :blushing:

Gerard Baden-Clay jury urged to keep open mind
Rae Wilson, 10th Jun 2014 Updated: 12:41 PM

Justice John Byrne said the jury must assess the evidence from witnesses testifying in the court and the facts placed before them...
Justice Byrne said it was of critical importance for the jurors to set aside anything they had heard about the case...

Justice Byrne said there were powerful reasons for not discussing the matter with anyone else or doing one's own research...
He said information in the public arena could be inaccurate - sometimes misleading and sometimes just plain wrong...
He said a juror proven to have used the internet for research on the case could cause the trial to abort...
He said the jurors were the only ones who would hear all the evidence. "Keep an open mind as the case progresses," he said... :judge:
