Whoo hoo, guys! You are doing some incredible work on this case! If I stll lived in Houston, I would be all over this doing some of the fieldwork. If I can think of anyone that I know there that would be willing to help out I'll try to get them involved. Keep on, bedangit!!

Was Princess Blue attending Robert E. Lee High School (Lee High School, Houston) at the time of her death? I've been thinking about this and I think it's very possible she was. I wonder if we should try contacting any of the other classes (1987-1990) and see if they knew of any student that just disappeared one day? Just thinking out loud here.

Hi anne,
Here I thought I was sitting here all alone with my thoughts. Oh boy it would be fantastic to find someone who actually lives around that area to do some field work. If you do think of someone who may be able to help that would be terrific. Nice seeing you here.

If this has been posted, sorry- but I don't remember this in our thread.
It's a Houston Chronicle Article on Princess Blue. Sorry if it has been posted- i didn't scour the thread. This article has the same info that the Doenetwork published in it, but it is an actual article.

Sep. 2--ANGLETON -- A well-worn ring from the 1975 class of Houston's Robert E. Lee High School is the main evidence police have to try to unravel a 16-year-old mystery. It was found on the finger of a skeleton at the end of a Brazoria County road in 1990. "It's not much to go on," said Manvel police Detective Jay Coffman, "but it's about all we've got." In the years since the remains were found, investigators have not been able to tell what happened to the female victim, how she got to be on a pile of debris or, more importantly, who she was.

"Somebody's missing this girl," Coffman said, holding the ring. Somebody is missing the ring, too, he said, because he doubts it originally belonged to the victim. A medical examiner's report estimated that the skeleton found on Sept. 10, 1990, was that of a girl about 17 years old, plus or minus two years, Coffman said. She would have been far too young for the 1975 class ring to be hers. "It could have been given to her by an aunt, an older sister, by anybody," Coffman said.

Richard Rosser, an investigator with the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department, is working with Coffman to solve the mystery. "Back then, Brazoria County was a dumping ground for bodies of people killed in Houston," Rosser said. "It seemed like we had at least one a month."

The skeleton was found by an Alvin man who had pulled off the highway to find a place to urinate. He told investigators that he stepped behind a barricade and saw a skull in an old tire. Investigators have no clues as to how she died. No traces of drugs were found in the bone marrow. Medical examiners estimated she had been dead six months to a year. The victim was about 5 feet tall, plus or minus 2 inches. Medical examiners said the skeleton was probably that of a Hispanic female. Investigators looked at dozens of different reports of missing teenage girls, but none seemed to match the skeleton. Three rings were on the skeleton's fingers. One was silver with a scroll design, another had a turquoise unicorn on it. But investigators think the 1975 Lee High School ring probably has the best chance of leading to her identity. A jeweler recently told investigators the ring was a size 9 1/2 and had been resized twice. The person it fit was probably about 175 pounds. An ornate "L" inlaid in the blue stone could have stood for the owner's last name or for Lee High School. The company that made Lee High School's rings doesn't have records from 1975, Rosser said. The Lee class of 1975 probably had about 150 girls, Rosser said. He would like to hear from any of them who lost a ring or gave it to somebody else. The skeleton is now at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. That facility operates the Texas Missing Persons DNA Database, which, in turn, feeds information about missing persons to the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS), operated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

If investigators get new leads, they can try to test the DNA of relatives to identify her. "We would at least have a name," Coffman said. richard.stewart@chron.com

Was Princess Blue attending Robert E. Lee High School (Lee High School, Houston) at the time of her death? I've been thinking about this and I think it's very possible she was. Hi RKnowly:). Although, we don't have reason to think Princess Blue was attending REL at the time of her disappearance, we also can't rule that out. She was estimated to be 16-22 years old. She may have been in school-somewhere, or she may have graduated or dropped out.

Update: My loving sister will be sending out 34 emails to 1975 alumni members with detailed info on Princess Doe's case including links to LE agencies, my email, and here. I included as much info about this case as I could; but, we had to edit and re-edit to fit it into the compact message box area. I thought she already sent it; but, I didn't realize I needed to edit it one more time. She will send it out tonight or tomorrow, so let's hope we get a good hit from it(fingers crossed icon).

Also, I will be making calls and emailing again tomorrow. So far, here is my list:

1) Call librarian and get YB publisher name and location.
2) Email SGT about recon of Princess Blue's face for better possibility of ID
3) Call Balfour (1975 ring design company

Does any of you have other ideas on who should be called, and if so what are your questions?

Also, Teons, I am sorry I haven't had the time to search for the missing from this morning. There just aren't enough hours in a day. I will try to find time tonight or tomorrow. Anyone else good at searching through all the missing in the USA who could possibly be our girl?

Here is a website for a woman/teacher who graduated from Lee in 1975. Her name is Ms. Martin

Thank you MrsG. I went to the site and tried to email her; but, the addy was no good. Since she went to college in and teaches San Antonio I am inclined to think she may have attended the REL in San Antonio. But, you never know. it could be a zebra for later, and we can always try to track her down again if we get nowhere with what we have.

I thought about this also, so I looked up all Houston papers that are online and searched archives to see if I would come across any articles, but I didn't.

Good morning teons:). I just emailed Seargeant Coffman again to ask him a couple of more questions. I also found someone who attended REL in 1975, so I asked if he had a yearbook from then. I am going to call the librarian later, too. And, my sister will hopefully get out the email to the 34 alumni graduates from 1975 by today. She has been ill, so she just hasn't been able to do it. She has an account with access to all of their email addys so I can't do it for her.

Maybe we will get lucky. If no one has purchased that year book, I may get it myself, the suspense of knowing if it offers any clues is killing me :) I was also wondering if they knew for a FACT that she was hispanic because of DNA or if they are just guessing? I asked on the Houston board if anyone from 1975 could tell me how many hispanic people were in the graduating class.

I would buy the book if I could afford it; but, I am having to pinch pennies, too. it would be great if maybe we could all chip in to buy it. Then it would cost just a small amount. Maybe we could do that. Then the person who gets possession of it can make copies of every page and post it for us all to see and copy for ourselves. What are your thoughts on that?

I believe there are a high number of Hispanics that go to that school. I don't know about how it was in 1975, though. Princess Blue was described as either Hispanic or white Hispanic, right? I recall seeing her listed as white/Hispanic in one place and described as Hispanic somewhere else.

Today is my birthday, so I was going to ask for it as my "present" from hubby, but I like your idea better :) Today is my last day to do a lot of work for awhile. My kids will be on spring break and my mini-vacation from work will be over, so I won't have as much time.

Yes, I do believe that she was listed as both white/hispanic and hispanic. I really hope this ring leads to something.

Happy Birthday teons!:HappyBday .

I understand. I need to go for now as well. Perhaps whomever gets back first can ask the others how they feel about it. Let's say it is $28.00 plus shipping. We have enough people so that it would only be a couple of dollars each. Then we would all have a, "copy" once the, "keeper" makes and posts the copies.

Have a great day today on your birthday teons:).

I have been searching and searching, but I don't really see any girls that I think is her! Maybe she was kidnapped as a young child by a parent and for that reason was never reported missing.

Just wanted to let you all know that I had to help somehow- Since I'm not as good at sleuthing as you guys, the least I could do was buy the yearbook.

I should have it Fedex by tomorrow!

MrsG.. you are awesome.. after getting the info we need, you can always resell on ebay.. Bless you!

It looks like everyone is off to a wonderful start today. I have also looked and looked and haven't found any missing gals that could be our Princess Blue.

MrsG, I myself think you are a wonderful sleuther. I think it helps to have as many people as we can helping out on this and we all have one thing in mind and that is to find out who Princess Blue belongs to and bring her home to them. Also thank you SO MUCH for getting that yearbook. Hopefully it holds the key to finding Princess Blue's family :)

ETA: HAPPY BIRTHDAY Teons!
