Sable, the new kitty is so sweet...how kind of you to be a "cat mom!"
Lion, I'm so glad Falcon's reaction to the surgery was able to be taken care of...I'm sure it's due to what an attenive "mom" you are to him! He is a lucky boy! He seems to be improving amazingly well! I know you are so relieved.

Back to this case: Ginger Sutherland is almost 100% out of the running as far as being a match to THIS UID. Even after all this time, they are still actively working her case in TX and their leads point the investigators elsewhere. I'm not sure about the Blanca leads, is anyone else?
I haven't heard a peep whether they were following up on Blanca or not. I hope they do.

Okay, thanks Jaded. I'll see if I can find out anything.:)

Sloane
Any word on what Blanca's MOM's name was? I'd love to know!

i just found this case it cought my eye when i was on the main page of the fourms i have yet to read up on the closed page and these pages someone was taking about what a class ring would look like in 75. my parents graduated hs in 72 their rings were both gold and looked excataly the same except the mans ring was larger than the womens ring it had the school around the ring and a red stone in the middle. ( school colors were red and white)

OK, I'm now hooked on the quest to ID Princess Blue! I've read a lot of the posts, but haven't finished out this thread yet. I have come up with 24 possibles so far, including Blanca and Ginger. They are both high on my list of possibles. Anyway, I wondered if anyone had a list of who had been positively eliminated so far, to save me duplicating work already done. I also read quite a bit about the yearbook, but couldn't find a link anywhere.
I also have so much confusion over the class ring. If the ring did not originally belong to Blue, it just seems to me the person who gave it would have come forward by now, or at the very least this ring would have been mentioned with details of a missing persons report. When the info was first released, it was believed this ring would make this a relatively easy id, and IMO it should have, so why didn't it?

Welcome smile and Lanie:). Ginger is almost 100% ruled out, and Sgt. Coffman has the info on both Ginger and Blanca to rule out/rule in these two matches.

Perhaps the person who gave the ring to Princess Blue doesn't know what happened to her. Perhaps the person moved out of media range when Princess was discovered. There are many things which may have precluded Princess's ID based on the ring. It is a long thread, but we have discussed many possible theories, some of them, "zebras"(rare, unlikely but possible) that you may find interesting.

Welcome aboard! We are glad to have fresh perspectives!

My next candidate is Michelle Doherty Thomas.

I guess I haven't reached the posts on ring theories yet. I did think maybe the ring came from a pawn shop, but then I wondered why someone would buy a class ring from a pawn shop unless they had some tie to the school. I think I have read everything up to now except this thread, so I will try to finish it out today.

I posted a picture of Michelle Doherty a while ago. She has not been checked out, yet. There were two girls/women's remains found in Manvel. Princess Blue was found in 1990, and another girl's remains were found in 1993. Both were in Manvel, both were very petite in height(around 5' tall), and both had no reports of any clothing found near or with the remains. Michelle may be either.

I was reading the news on msnbc.com tonight and ran across an article about a boy who was alledgedly poisoned and then drowned in a river back in 1985. Anyhow, his body was found 3 weeks later and the case was ruled an accidental drowning. His mother thought it was suspicious because the boy couldn't swim and when his body was found he was fully dressed including shoes. But the case was still ruled an accidental drowning and was closed. The case was reopened in 2004 when the police located a witness who had not been interviewed originally. The police had the body exhumed for tests, which showed a substance in his system that would have been strong enough to incapacitate him. What I want to know is did they test this boy's bone marrow for the drug some 22 years later and they found the drugs in his system? Now I know he was found a lot sooner than Princess Blue was found and that his body was "preserved"

BUT, could Princess Blue have been deceased A LOT longer than originally thought? I know we have tried so hard to get the bone marrow question answered by an expert to no avail. What has become of getting the autopsy report on Princess Blue? Do we need to try and make contact with Harris County Medical Examiner again?

This is the source to the article on the boy who was poisoned and drowned in 1985: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18853422/

It took me a lot longer than I thought to get somewhat caught up. I think I read a lot of Topix and somehow got it in my head I had read part one of this thread, oops.
Here is a link to a thread in WS that might shed some light on all the questions of pinpointing TOD.

I haven't registered at SKM yet, so not entirely up to speed, but I volunteer to help in any way I can.

PM me with your username. We've been getting a lot of forum spammers and I have had to admin validate new members. Look forward to seeing you over there. :)

Maybe someone placed the ring on her finger knowing it would be considered a good lead, and instead it has been a major focus for identifying the IUD. Perhaps the ring was to throw everyone off.

That seems highly unlikely to me. The killer would have to get the ring somewhere, and getting it from someone he knows could remotely lead back to him. That leaves stealing it, and it seems a reach to think killer would steal this class ring, fortunately with no inscription, to leave on a future victim, or hold onto a victim until he steals a ring, all to plant to muddy the waters, at risk of getting caught stealing.

Information about all the rings, their sizes and what fingers they were found on, could be helpful.

Would someone set up a poll asking everyone how long they wore their class ring after hs, ever get it resized, if so, why, and where these rings are now?

The ring being resized twice makes me strongly doubt Princess Blue is the original owner, and also makes me doubt her remains date back to 1975. The ring not being a pretty instant hit on identifying our princess makes me think it wasn't such a big deal her having the ring, or maybe the people it would have been a big deal to are all deceased, or so out of touch they don't even know she is missing. JMO, but I think if we could even come up with some solid theories on how something that should be such a major identifier is such a dead end, it might help figure this out.

Are we all going through Princess Blue burnout? I hope not! Is there anything we could be doing while we wait for further information from Sloane? I know we have the spreadsheet to be working on but I feel there must be other things we can do?? I don't want to give up on her. :(

I'm just kind of waiting for someone to tell me what to do. I also don't seem to have good access to the stuff @ someoneknowsme.com.

Hi Lanie:). Perhaps you can PM Jaded on WS and ask her how to join and get access to what you need to to help up with the spreadsheet. That would be great if you could help us with that.

Hi RKnowley:). I have been so busy my head is spinning, but I haven't given up on Princess Blue. I am concerned as you are though, because we aren't posting much, and we really need help from all of us to finish the spreadsheet, track down and contact the members of the 75 grad class, and do what we can to ID Princess Blue.

Lanie, did you contact Jaded to have her set you to approve you for access to SKM?
