Jackson Misses Payroll, Ranch for Sale

And it’s not a minute too soon. Sources tell me that Jackson missed the most recent payroll, which was due two weeks ago today. Jackson finally paid his staff on the following Monday. But the remaining staff will likely not be paid today.

Pop icon Michael Jackson is counter suing a former associate, accusing him of concealing and misappropriating funds. This is the latest move in a flurry of legal activity from the singer.

A lawyer representing the superstar, Brent Ayscough, confirmed that Jackson filed the countersuit on Oct. 18.

In court papers, Jackson claims that producer Marc Schaffel “concealed funds, commingled funds, misappropriated funds, charged expenses for matters un-related to the agreement, provided false books of account and ... wrongfully profited …"

Marc Schaffel originally filed suit in November 2004, saying Jackson owed him over $3 million. He claims the singer owes him $2.3 million for payments and loans and a further $800,000 for producing two television specials that aired on the Fox network.

Jackson claims that Schaffel failed to pay costs related to the production of the charity single, ‘What More Can I Give?’

It is also alleged that Schaffel continued to represent himself as Jackson’s associate, even after their business dealings had ended, and that Schaffel profited from this false association.

The singer also claims that Schaffel kept a number of his sculptures and paintings, valued at $250,000.

Ayscough said Schaffel had already failed in two attempts to have a lien placed on the singer’s Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara.

This case is the latest in a string of legal actions launched by the singer. Jackson recently initiated legal action against concert promoter Marcel Avram, who is suing for lost revenue from two millennium concerts.

He also settled a lawsuit filed by an antiques dealer who alleged he had not fully paid for $380,000 worth of goods.

An attorney for Schaffel, Howard King, dismissed the accusations as "another ridiculous claim."

MJ has a long history of not paying his debts. Wonder why people keep trusting him? :waitasec:

While he's out dropping a bundle at Harrods on toys and watches, his loyal staff is awaiting their measly checks.

Michael Jackson's ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, went to bat for the pop star at his child molestation trial, but he played hardball with her in their recent child visitation deal, the Daily News has learned.
The top-secret agreement allows Rowe, whose gushing testimony last April helped save Jackson's neck, only sporadic visits with Prince Michael 1st, 8, and Paris, 7, and she can't even tell the tykes she's their mom, sources said.

"Debbie is not supposed to tell the kids she is their mother. That topic is off-limits. But it will be revisited when they are older," said a source familiar with the temporary, court-supervised plan.

The ex-dermatologist's aide, who divorced Jackson in 1999, was secretly reunited with her kids - after almost five years without contact - in August in an L.A. hotel room.

"They handled it fine, but were a bit bewildered," one source said.

Well, it isn't his money that he's spending...and with what's probably been spent on this alleged "single", he could have just donated and helped people immediately. But no, The Man with No Nose or Skin Pigmentation just has to make it all about him.

As for Debbie Rowe, well...I have no respect for her either.

Jackson HAS moved!

"He's looking much better. He's with his children, and he's moving on in life," said Thomas Mesereau Jr., who won Jackson's acquittal on child molestation charges in the summer. "He's living permanently in Bahrain. He has friends there who have been very loyal and helpful to him in a difficult period of his life."

Very loyal and helpful = paying for everything! :croc:
Give it about a year, and his royal supporter will disappear like everyone else, once he realizes that MJ isn't going to be of any real use to him in the entertainment industry and the Imans in his kingdom start giving him guff about having a blatant pederast in his entourage.

Well, not anyone who matters...there are the FF's, after all, but they find him to be beautiful so their sanity is in question anyway

Anyway, The Noseless One's actions would have to be monitored constantly, since another scandal like "The Princess and The Marine" isn't gonna be all that welcome. Prince Abdullah's a good person from what I hear and probably is only doing this because of Jermaine's begging (Chris Rock took shots at the Jacksons in his "Never Scared" show and brought up Jermaine's greasiness and wondered aloud if he sprays himself with "Armor All").

Btw, BillyGoatGruff, it's "Imam" not "Iman", for the latter is David Bowie's better half and the arabic word for "faith", hehehe...

SPEAKING OF FAKE MARRIAGE, MICHAEL JACKSON iS BACK IN THE NEWS: Michael Jackson will come back to the United States, but it's unlikely he'll live here again, his father says.

The thunderous applause you hear rolling up the coast is the collective reaction of Southern Californian parents.

"He'll come back to visit, but not to stay, not to live," Joseph Jackson told the Associated Press in a recent interview.

Won't that make things kind of complicated the next time he gets arrested? Not to mention all those poor process servers with no travel budget.

Joe Jackson said Michael, who was acquitted in June of child molestation, has received lots of threats in the United States. The superstar now lives in Bahrain, and his lawyers have said that he no longer considers his Neverland Ranch in California his home.

"They didn't treat him right here. I know if I was him, I wouldn't come back," his father said.

Yeah, America has a lot of nerve, acquitting him and all.

The elder Jackson said he expects Michael to return to his music career, which is too bad, as many of us saw a big future for Michael in bricklaying or automotive repair. Joe said he hopes it will include a reunion with his brothers. "I'm trying to motivate them to go ahead and do this record," he said of his other sons. "They want to do it, but they're too slow. They'd rather do it with Michael."

Jackson is allegedly working on a charity single for hurricane relief with stars such as R. Kelly and Snoop Dogg. The world continues to hold its breath.http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld...ng/13130205.htm

From the transcript of last night's show, talking about MJ buying a home in Bahrain:

TED CASABLANCA, E! REPORTER: Hey, Nancy, you`re not being ironic with
Michael, are you? You sound like you`re really upset to see him leave
the country. Actually, if I were him, I would leave the country, too,
because I`m hearing more and more out here that there will be another
case, another trial. And it`s not looking good for this guy.

GRACE: What? What? What? What? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What kind
of trial?

CASABLANCA: Did that get your attention, Nancy?

GRACE: Yes. You got me. What kind of trial?

CASABLANCA: I`m hearing that there`s another kid, at least one, if not
more, who`s planning on coming forth. I think there are a number of kids
who will be able to come forth eventually. Because it has never really
been answered. You know, justice never really been seen in this country
in regards to Michael Jackson. So no wonder he`s thinking about posh
places off in Bahrain. I`d be going there, too, I think, if I were him.

***

They also discussed the fact that Bahrain does not have an extradition treaty with the US, so if anything does come up with MJ in the future, it's not likely he'd be surrendered to US authorities...unless the royal family ended up really angry with him and willingly handed him over.

Also in the news: This past weekend MJ was caught dressed in certain Muslim female articles of attire and using a women's bathroom in a shopping mall in Dubai. A real woman caught him in there, and in deep offense took pictures of him with her mobile phone and demanded compensation. Police came in and ordered her to delete the images from her phone...they have a law against that. Now the women of the country are denouncing MJ for his immoral and disrespectful behavior towards Muslim women and are demanding that he be punished.
