Insofar as 31-year olds have chosen to get a job, buy pets, and bring children into this world, they should be plenty old enough to take responsibility for those things under their care. If you're not grown up enough for that while your kids are little and need you, it's gonna be too late if you mature at 50 or 60 or 70. JMO.

She just divorced him, right? And still maintains that he loved Cooper and wouldn't have harmed him?

If what you are saying about her is true, then she values her own pride and reputation more than she valued and loved her son. That's a really gigantic accusation to make, IMO. We "know" each other well enough that I assume you know I mean it when I say that "with all due respect,".....it is IMO an unfair one without a great deal more evidence that it's true.

She said those things in 2014. I don't know what she says about him today. I assume something changed for her since she divorced him.

I think I read where hot car child death happens like 38 times per year. Some parents have had their lives turned upside down since and probably a few suicides can be attributed. I feel sure even some child murders have walked or not even indicted and brought to trial. I wish we could find 6 married couples (or just loving couples) that have this terrible experience in their past sit as jurors and look into the eyes of all people testifying. They would maybe know better small signs to look for while listening to all the facts. Let's let these jurors determine if they think Ross loved his son from what people that witnessed Ross/Conner interactions. Well, we can't find these jurors so I guess the normal voir dire procedure will have to do and the normal process of hopefully 12 unbiased jurors listening to all the facts then debating after the trial. Emotions are charged on this website for this case and rightfully should be for a child's sake. But if you read A LOT of the comments they are biased for their own personal opinion rather than facts. I know, I know, that is what this website is about, sleuthing, discussing, debating and each of us can just overlook or skip that opinion if it seems to have no support of truth. But this case seems to really stretch the boundaries.

I guarantee you no parents of children involved in hot-car deaths would be allowed on this jury. They would be disqualified-as are sexual assault victims from rapists trials.
And... my opinion is based on the facts I know of this case. I followed it 2 years ago when it happened, and in this case alone- I think it was intentional. I think Justin Ross Harris purposely killed his child.

She's been absolved of any involvement in her son's death. Because you or I or anyone else can't identify with her response doesn't make her anything else but a mother who lost her baby and is entitled to grieve in her own way, on her own terms.

But Hope, she didn't answer any of the questions directly. It wasn't used to express how his death impacted her grief. She wrote it to defend her husband against the media and the justice system. Not what it was intended for regardless of her being charged. (I'm still on the fence as to whether she had knowledge that Ross was planning it).

In #8, Leanna was asked to share any information she wanted to be taken into consideration by the prosecutor and/or Judge. Her response was appropriate to the request. Leanna believes he is innocent. There are members of the public that believe he is guilty. Of course, they are not going to agree with and accept her response. IMO

Sure. But it's possible to make huge mistakes at any age, and it's never too late to change or to grow.

HIs age has nothing to do with this case, imo.

Yeah, he's a little long in the tooth for his age to seriously be considered a mitigating factor, legally speaking, or just conceptually. If he were a 15-19 year old dad, maybe. When you're a 31 year old dad, you don't get to use the immaturity card when you're a parent. You get the negligence card. IMO.

BBM -- But, look at his big smile in this photo.

th

He is posing. Plus, the photo with that big smile, it was taken at a "roll tide" football game... a big thing for him.

They picture on the right, in the context of this case, makes me think of Casey and Caylee.

I agree. His apparent immaturity for his age sure does though, and I imagine the DT will try to use that to his advantage just as the State has signalled they will use it against him.

This is going to be interesting. Horrifying, but interesting.

I'm not sure about murder, but felony murder is basically a done deal for me. He was so busy sexting with all his women that he forget to care for his son even after researching the dangers involved with locking children in hot cars. Lock him up!

Juror #22 says that jurors were discussing the Ross's guilt when filling out questionaire.

Sorry, that made me giggle. It's just like Jodi Arias being a "youthful girl" at 27 with her pigtails and braids, and yet that "youthful" offender took down a man much bigger than her and viciously slaughtered him.
