What is sex addiction?
Sex addiction is a compulsive need to perform sexual acts in order to achieve the kind of “fix” that an alcoholic gets from a drink and an addict gets from a drug. Sex addiction can be a highly dangerous and destructive condition. Like drug or alcohol dependence, it affects the addict’s mental health, personal relationships, quality of life, and safety. It is somewhat common, but is often not diagnosed.

Usually, a sex addict seeks out multiple sex partners or may have (illegal) relations with children, animals, or objects. The addiction may include a compulsive need to masturbate, view *advertiser censored*, or be in sexually stimulating situations. The addict may significantly alter their life and activities in order to perform sexual acts multiple times a day. A sex addict cannot control their behavior, despite severe negative consequences.

Part 2 of 5: Symptoms
What are the symptoms of sex addiction?

Symptoms
Sex addiction can be difficult to spot from the outside. Most addicts become skilled at hiding their behavior and can even keep the addiction secret from spouses, partners, and family members. They will do this by lying about their activities or engaging in them at times and places where they won’t be found out. But, sometimes symptoms are present and noticeable. A person might have a sex addiction if they show some or all of the following signs:

chronic, obsessive sexual thoughts and fantasies
frequent relations with multiple partners, including strangers
lying to cover their addiction
preoccupation with having sex, even when it interferes with daily life, productivity, work performance, etc.
inability to stop or control the behaviors
putting oneself or others in danger due to sexual behavior
engaging in illegal sexual activity with prostitutes or minors
need for dominance and control in sexual encounters
feeling remorse or guilt after sex
other negative personal or professional consequences

Rayemonde & Hope4More - Since you two are doing the digging on these hot car car deaths, have you seen anything for the period of time that RH was a dispatcher in Tuscaloosa, Alabama?

Well, let me see.

[Harris] held jobs at the University of Alabama from August 2001 until May 2006 as a parking monitor and later as a mail delivery clerk, said Cathy Andreen, university director of media relations.

He worked as a police dispatcher in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, from June 10, 2006, to May 22, 2009...

In May 2012, Harris graduated from the University of Alabama...

Apparently from 1998 to 2011, there were 9 hot car deaths in Alabama. Only one, in 2007, was whilst R was working as a dispatcher.

2005, in Alabama, Amiyah White died in a hot car after daycare workers left her there. This case was a big deal and years later the Amiyah White Motor Vehicle Act was passed, making it illegal to leave a child unattended in a car in Alabama, even if no harm comes to them.

A 2-year-old girl died Tuesday afternoon after she had been left in a church day care center's van for more than two hours, authorities said...

The caretakers, Mary Grove, 61, and Avis Betts, 40, were arrested Tuesday evening and charged with manslaughter, according to Officer Eric Gallichant of the Mobile Police Department.

Grove and Betts were taken to the Mobile Metro County Jail, Gallichant said. If convicted, the pair could face a sentence of up to 20 years in jail under Alabama law.

The 2007 Alabama hot car death was Kaleen Tran, 8 months old.

Phong Tran, 27, of Mobile unintentionally left Kaleen Tran in his Dodge Durango after dropping his two other children off at Little Flower Catholic School on Government Street about 7:30 a.m., said Officer Eric Gallichant, a Mobile Police Department spokesman.

Tran realized that his daughter was still in the SUV when he returned to Little Flower, a school for 3-year-olds through eighth-graders, at 5:45 p.m. to pick his kids up from after-school care, Gallichant said...

Police Department investigators found no evidence of foul play and have not made any arrests, Gallichant said. He said the case will be presented to a Mobile County grand jury.

Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson Jr. said Thursday evening that all indications were that the Trans were a "wonderful" family.

The 2007 Alabama hot car death was a 7 month old boy named Brock Pouncie, in Guinness County.

http://www.masscops.com/threads/gwinnett-baby-left-in-hot-car-dies.38860/

So, a two-year-old dies when caretakers leave her in a vehicle. Convicted of manslaughter. This was not an intentional act but clearly one of neglect. She didn't do time for it other than probation.

Sorry, but therein lies a big part of this problem. Little to no consequences. Innocent babies die and no one has to pay for that. I think if the consequences were greater people would be a bit less "forgetful."

Two reasons why these deaths are more troublesome than most accidental deaths: 1) The victim suffers horribly as they are being baked alive. 2) I think it goes without saying that some of these "accidents" are in fact something a lot more sinister, but given the situation that can be very difficult to prove.

Do not think for a minute that some of these "forgetful" parents, grandparents or whomever have not considered the difficulty of proof as they planned their evil deed.

With all due respect, I think your line " someone can have a superior viewpoint without being slaughtered " is exactly the perspective I was responding to in that post.

Succinct enough ? :D
Not at all, but whatever floats your boat.

It's OK to know more than other people about certain things - I have zero clue as to why you view that as offensive.

Very nice summary.

Here's one of my favorite exchanges during Kilgore's Recross:

KILGORE: Well, the fact is you are really upset with Ross because you found out that you weren’t the only woman that he was texting with; isn’t that true?
MEADOWS: It doesn’t change what I’m saying, though.

:floorlaugh: ya'll are killing me! We could have a thread on that witness testimony alone!

Channel 11 in Atlanta has a group of lawyers who have been discussing this case.

They have put videos online and I've been catching up on them today.

One of them said that the defense needed a good expert witness and they didn't have one. She called the memory expert who testified a "Howdy Doody gentleman."

Still laughing at that and just wanted to share. :D

Federal Prison? Ummm June 6, 2014.... Orange is The New Black new season... that has been established in testimony and computer records.

Well, maybe, but I doubt they were planning to kill Cooper in a hot car years before he was even conceived.

Agree. Mostly likely was on the news frequently. Enough so that the Gov started a Campaign about it, went public with it roughly 22 days prior..And these numbers from the release, appear to be CHILD CARE WORKERS! No telling the number of individuals reported! If it is anything like here, each time would probably hit the evening news cycle. JMHO since the jury is impaneled with citizens from same state as RH, I would think they are aware of same such news reports back then, to a point. I doubt it is something unheard of, by any citizen in our southern states, it happens and 1 is too many but it still happens. JMHO like the swimming pool deaths in places where there are many pools (FL) tragic. I would think there are fears that many find odd, but that locals understand. And in this case, where a fear it actually happened... I just pray none of my real fears ever happen. Because... they are my fears of really happening not that I planning on executing them. JMHO **Curious how many children are left/found that did not die, but were ok or sadly suffered damage but lived?

“During Georgia’s hot summer months, there is a higher risk of serious injury or death as a result of a
child being left alone inside a vehicle,” said Deal. “Since 2010, seven children in Georgia have died due
to vehicular heat stroke.
I ask that all Georgians join me in preventing future loss of life by being aware of
your surroundings and never taking the chance of leaving a child in a car, even for just a minute. Lives
can be saved if we take the time to Look Again.” *****this was from release May 27, 2014 as we know more have been added to those 7, even with awareness it has still happened

Bobby Cagle, Commissioner of Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning
(DECAL), said over 375,000 children across the state depend on approximately 6,000 child care
providers daily most of whom transport children on a regular basis to and from home, after school to the
child care center, and on field trips. “We receive calls about incidents where children are left in vehicles
from a few minutes to several hours and we investigate each incident,” Cagle explained. “According to
our records, in FY2012, 21 children were left in vehicles by child care providers; 17 in FY2013; and
already 18 in FY2014. While thankfully we have not seen any child deaths in child care centers since
2011, we want these dangerous close calls to decrease. Consequently, safely transporting children will
remain a focus for our agency.”

GEORGIA GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY http://www.gahighwaysafety.org/campaigns/child-passenger-safety/heatstroke/

KEY POINTS AND STATISTICS

NHTSA says heatstroke in vehicles is the leading cause of all non-crash-related fatalities involving children 14 and younger, representing 61 percent of total non-crash fatalities in this age group.

Since 1998, there have been 559 heatstroke deaths of children left in cars, an average of 38 per year.
In 2012 alone, at least 32 children in the United Sates lost their lives after being left in unattended motor vehicles, and an unknown number of others were moderately to severely injured.
States with higher incidences of fatalities for children 3 and younger include Georgia, Texas, Indiana, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Virginia.

Children’s bodies overheat easily, and infants and children under 3 years old are at greatest risk for heat-related illness.

Kidsandcars.org shows that 87 percent of children who died from vehicular heatstroke are age 3 and younger.
A child’s body absorbs more heat on a hot day than an adult’s does.
High body temperatures can cause permanent injury or even death.

Heatstroke begins when the core body temperature reaches about 104 degrees and the thermoregulatory system is overwhelmed. A core temperature of about 107 degrees is lethal.

A vehicle heats up quickly, even with a window rolled down
A review of child heatstroke cases showed that heatstroke fatalities have occurred even in vehicles parked in shaded areas and when the air temperatures were 80 degrees F or less.
Heatstroke can occur in temperatures as low as 57 degrees.
On an 80 degree day, temperatures inside a vehicle can reach deadly levels in just 10 minutes.
It can happen to anyone.
In 52 percent of vehicular heatstroke cases the child was “forgotten” by the caregiver.
In more than 29 percent of cases, a child got into the vehicle on their own.

Makes me think back to the hot car reconstruction witness

There are a lot of hot car death cases. And a lot of people go to jail. Especially day care workers, childcare van drivers, or parents who were drunk or high when their kids crawled into a car un noticed, or were left in the driveway to die...

HOWEVER, in the cases like Ross's, where a parent forgot to drop a child off at daycare, while on their way to work....I saw no cases where the parents did any serious jail time. Most were NOT CHARGED, OR acquitted or given probation, no jail at all.

BRYCE BALFOUR case:NOT GUILTY

http://www.nbc29.com/story/17744936/5-years-later-remembering-baby-bryce

After just 90 minutes, the jury was back. One juror later told WINA radio that the first vote was 11-1, and even the holdout wasn't holding out for guilt– just undecided.

When the jury's "not guilty" verdict was read, the courtroom erupted in sobs and applause, the latter hastily reprimanded by Judge Edward Hogshire.

"Bittersweet," is how Jarrett Balfour's mother, Sari Balfour, described the verdict. "They've been through such an incredible amount of grief but have not been able to grieve. It's such a relief to be able to grieve."

Lyn Balfour made a brief statement outside the courthouse, thanking the community and vowing, through education, to make sure her son's death was not in vain.

MEDINA, Ohio - A county grand jury's decision against indicting a man whose infant son died in a hot car could make it difficult to prosecute people who endanger children, city officials say.

In two other recent cases, the city filed charges of child endangering.

The grand jury decided Sept. 6 not to charge Todd Costello, 33, who forgot his son, Tyler, was in the back seat of his car when he drove to work in July in this Cleveland suburb.

Medina City Law Director John Lohn said the result of the highly publicized case could make it more difficult to seat unbiased jurors should a child endangering case ever go to trial.

“People will feel as if there is a double standard of justice,” he said.

The grand jury, whose proceedings are secret, did not offer an explanation for its decision. Medina County Prosecutor Dean Holman said the panel considered charges of involuntary manslaughter or negligent homicide but felt charges weren't appropriate.

AND, check out these :
No charges were filed in any of the deaths because it could not be proved that the children were intentionally left in the vehicles, Clark County District Attorney David Roger said.

July 8, 2005 -- Jozia Diaz-Beltran, 16 months, died when her father, whose name has not been released, forgot he had left the child in a sport utility vehicle in Las Vegas.

July 27, 2004 -- Christian Olsen, 3, died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center after his mother, Diana, left him in a car for about an hour. The incident occurred in Henderson.

After he had not been seen for hours, a family member found him inside a car. The boy's mother, Frances Rivera, was asleep in the house at the time. The case remains under investigation.

June 29, 2001 -- Nicolas Alexander Christensen, 6 months, died of heat stroke in the back seat of a car in Las Vegas. His mother, Eileen Christensen, was at work and called the babysitter to check on the child, only to realize she had accidentally left her baby in her car instead of taking him to the sitter.

**Curious how many children are left/found that did not die, but were ok or sadly suffered damage but lived?

I've come across loads... Quite a few of the kids have been pulled from the car still alive but died in hospital.

I have no doubt it's happened to thousands and thousands of kids, but the parent never gets caught if the kid is okay. Also, earlier someone was saying how suspicious it is that no one ever forgets their kid in the car in cold weather, and how this means that parents must be doing on purpose to murder their kids. Well, it does happen in cold weather too.

But do we have any reason to think that RH was aware of any of these cases? The ones I wrote about earlier are ones I think he was likely to be aware of because they happened in his area and had a lot of press coverage. We have no evidence of him doing any research into children dying in hot cars. How can we say he obviously researched the topic and saw that most parents aren't convicted and so decided to kill Cooper in this manner, when there is no evidence that he researched it?

Part two: reviewing cases of hot car deaths, which are similar to Ross--

JENNA EDWARDS---NO CHARGES FILED
Q: How did you feel when you later heard that police were declining to press charges?
A: Part of me didn’t care—how could my life get any worse? But I had a son who still needed me, a husband who still needed me. Ultimately, I was glad I was able to spare my family the trial, a jail sentence.
Q: How were you treated by the community afterwards? How did media report the death? One of the first hits associated with your name is headlined: “11-month-old left in minivan dies as mother, Dr. Jodie Edwards, went to work.” That’s a pretty clear, implicit judgment.
A: A very vocal segment of the population wanted me charged. Many made assumptions about drug use, or that my children must be unimportant to me. News helicopters flew over my work. I was viciously attacked in comments, on blogs.

So I went through all of the hot car deaths listed on the kids and cars site, and pulled ALL of the cases where a parent was going to work and forgot their child was in the car still.

22 cases, plus 4 that Dr Diamond testified in, so 26 cases, of parents forgetting====NONE went to jail. Most were never even charged.

So if Ross had decided to research parents 'forgetting' their kids on the way to work, he could be pretty sure he would not do any jail time.

I really don't know. But he was an avid googler.

I am just saying that IF he looked into it, he would see that if a parent 'accidentally' forgets a child on their way to work, they are almost never sent to jail. And often there are no charges filed.

I really don't think he thought the "investigation" would entail anything more than checking his criminal record, CPS record and getting all of the people he knew to give their loving wonderful accounts of Saint Ross. He plays guitar in the church for gosh sakes! I truly don't think it entered his mind on any level that face value wasn't all that was going to be necessary. And he had that ace in spades...on the surface who would ever suspect? But he was so cocky he screwed himself.

I've heard similar thoughts lately on this forum lately and I just don't think I can agree with your opinion that RH didn't think LE would dig deep into his cell phone data and records and just do a cursory view of CPS records and church attendance/participation. I think anyone 40ish or younger, especially an IT worker, know one of the very first things LE want to possess is alleged perps cell. Think of all the all-revealing info on everyone's cell...Location/GPS w respective time stamps,texts/sexts/pics/bank records/Google searches/work projects/schedules on calender/contacts,etc. RH knew he had incriminating info, hence, the sexy apps hidden inside elusively named folders. I have zero intentions of me personally committing any future crimes, but if I were, the very first thing I would destroy is my cell as I feel LE will not offer me any form of pass go collect $200.00. RH knew the severity of sexting w minors. Major prison time. If Whisper and Kik had been deleted from his cell those apps and conversations would not be traceable. Gone forever. No proof, no prison time for minors. I feel very strongly RH as an IT clearly knew what is and isn't traceable
I also understand some perps like to keep memento's of their conquests, but RH could have have easily saved the vagay pics and deleted the actual Whisper/Kik conversation revealing sender/time/day/age.
