I think Jodi probably had all sorts of distorted imaginings about what was happening between Travis and Lisa. She told Flores that she thought Travis had found the woman he was going to marry. The email Jodi anonymously sent Lisa suggested that she did think that Travis and Lisa were sleeping together -- why wouldn't she since Travis was sleeping with Jodi? She may have assumed Travis was keeping his sexual relationship with Lisa a secret from his Mormon friends just like he kept the relationship with Jodi a secret.

Or maybe it was Mimi she thought Travis was having sex with.

What do you think? Did the defense team know about this but took the risk anyway? How could they have allowed this info to be exposed? Are they trying to throw their case? Maybe Jodi hid this information from them and they didn't question Darryl deeply enough?

i'm sure they knew it. don't both sides depose these witnesses before they're called? they know what they're going to say and have their depositions in case they change something. they probably thought they had to put him on because of the other info he provided about how sweet and normal she was (blecch) while they were together.

The 22 gauge bullet penetrated his right frontal bone and probably grazed his frontal lobe/? Lobes. The exit wound out of the anterior cranial fossa is NOT described clearly in autopsy report. It probably passed into planum sphenoidale or posterior left orbital roof and proceeded into TA’s infratemporal fossa and eventually lodged near his left mandibular condyle. Contrary to Horn’s testimony this gunshot wound would NOT be fatal nor would it have rendered TA unconscious.

Two things - this is what I have believed for a while. A gunshot wound to the frontal lobe does not always incapacitate someone to the point of unconsciousness. There are many cases of people attempting to commit suicide that wind up only damaging their frontal cortex via gunshot, and they wind up firing a second round to "finish the job". Thank you for posting this.

Secondly, a little nitpicky, but a 22 gauge bullet would have taken a sizable chunk of his head off. You keep interchanging between a .22 caliber bullet and a .25 caliber bullet... A .25 cal handgun was used to commit the murder. I'm not attempting to detract from the main points of your commentary; some may dismiss your post based on little inconsistencies like that though, and it doesn't deserve to be dismissed. Well done!

I think Jodi was his first. No sex with Lisa or Mimi. If he had sex before them, I kind of doubt he would go back to dating girls who were definitely not going to have sex with him before marriage.

I would guess that Jodi was not the first, but the first that was consistent, and "rocked his world" per se, and why he didn't say no t sex with her. It was the last bait she used to keep a tie to him.

minor, if you have a chance and you care enough, read up on Mormon singles. There are many anecdotal comments about Mormon men and women hooking up with non-Mormon partners prior to marriage (and actually, during marriage). That way, no one within the Mormon community knows they're having sex, so they're image is preserved but their desires are satisfied. Along the lines of "do it with someone who won't spill the beans."

I am sure some Mormon couples have sex before they marry (each other), and I am sure some don't. That it is a big taboo is the one constant.

I'm sure many do have sex before they marry. So far, however, there's nothing to suggest Travis had other sexual partners. I think Travis hung out with a bunch of pretty faithful Mormons who tried to follow the religion's mandates. We'll see ...
