Theories On What Happened to Caylee Part #8

I think the drowning in the pool theory was just a convenient excuse that they came up with to sway jurors who just couldn't believe a mother capable of killing her own child. It was initially proposed to Cindy, and she told Casey about it early on in the jailhouse visit tapes, and Casey pooh-poohed it. The defense team latched onto it because they had nothing else- Zanny the Nanny wasn't going to fly because there was zero proof of her existence and too many discrepancies in the different versions of that story!
I just watched Michelle Reynolds story on either Dateline or 48 Hours last night, don't recall which program. I was already familiar with her story from Snapped! She manipulated her lover- deacon of the church and her husband's best friend- into killing her husband, pastor of the church. When they gave her the news he was dead, she had no reaction. Later she claimed it was shock, which was also suggested by relatives. Similar situation in that someone else is providing the convenient excuse that is hard to prove.

you may be right. for karma to take hard effect you would have to be "on top of the world" for a while. kinda like the bigger they are the harder they fall. maybe karma is bulding her up just to take her down hard someday. im sure KC is feeling mighty invincible about now....at least this is the thought that keeps me going. her behavior is truly disgusting. she seems to break every one of the 10 commadments with no remorse.

BBM.....
I totally agree. I have thought the same thing....breaking the 10 Commandments while quoting the Bible sure doesn't sound like a very good idea to me but we have all seen her do this in those Jail Visitation Videos w/her family. That takes a special kind of person to quote the Bible while breaking the Commandments if you ask me. I think by doing so, she has set herself up bigtime for a very hard fall.

I have said this since the verdict, we ain't seen nothing yet from KC, it's far from over and she will screw up sooner than later....I just worry about those left in the wake of her aftermath this time.

I don't know about Orlando, but around here(Sacramento) gas stations don't "loan" gas cans out.Maybe sell them, but give them to people who ran out of gas? I don't think they would get many back if they did.

Here in North TX where I live, the bigger chains have a lot of gas cans for sale and if you run out, you buy one or your s.o.l. Some of the smaller stations will loan them out as long as you leave your license or a deposit of at least $10 that you get back when you return the can.
Sorry O/T!!

And welcome to Well Done 99....great theory on what you think happened to sweet little Caylee!

Thanks for you kind welcome.

I don't believe KC is treatable. Stories of her currently undergoing "rehab" or some sort of "re-adjustment" are ludicrous. IMO she is simply being coached not to say anything she shouldn't.
She will always be the person (or should we say "people") she is and I'm sure you may be correct Shaye when you say she will screw up sooner or later.
When KC cashes someone's check, in her mind she is that person. When she drives someone elses car, she is living their life. When she lives it up at the club, she's part of that crowd. When she was in court, she thought she was a lawyer!
The odd thing is, it seems that without fail whenever she was with Caylee at home she was herself.
I have often wondered whether something out her mind's ordinary went amiss at the time she killed Caylee ... was she uncharacteristically someone else at that moment?

:bump: theories on this thread. Also please remember, we cannot name people as suspects unless they have been named that in main stream media as suspects.

Now that the verdict is behind us and Casey is floating somewhere in this universe, I've had time to think about Caylee's death and have some new wrinkles to what happened on the day we are supposed to believe Caylee met her fate.

First off, I do not believe she drown. At least not in the backyard pool at the Anthony's. The reason I believe this is because of the phone calls Casey was supposed to be making to her parents for the purpose of finding a baby sitter in order that she could be with Tony that night. Although she probably would not use that as the reason. Instead she may have used the excuse of having to report back to work.

We know there wasn't any Zanny the Nanny so Casey wasn't calling her. When she didn't reach her parents, it is my belief she turned elsewhere to find a sitter because she was not going to miss out being with Tony.

I think she found a sitter among some of her lesser known friends. It may have been someone who her parents knew and did not like. Or perhaps had warned Casey to never leave Caylee with again.

I do believe Caylee died somehow while with that person. Something happened. It could have been a drowning. It certainly was through neglect. Casey didn't know until the next day that her daughter was dead until she went to pick her up. Possibly she did react with fear that her parents not find out so she didn't go to authorities. Of course in this reasoning I'm stating, I'm looking at Casey as being somewhat normal.

However, it was absolutely important that she keep this secret. That she not reveal what happened or who was involved. She pledged to keep it all underwraps and the body was placed in her trunk with the idea of disposing of the body as soon as possible. This wasn't done on June 14. But the day after when she returned from Tony's to get her daughter.

I suppose I'm thinking this because for the life of me I can not imagine she had a dead body in the trunk of her car while she and Tony were strolling the aisles at Blockbuster looking for movies. I want to believe she throught her daughter was being cared for while she was with her fellow. Maybe I'm too kind.

Something just tells me that someone else is involved. That she was supposed to receive help with dumping the body and didn't. That's why Caylee's little body remained in the car for so long and why she had to take measures to secure the body with items from her home.

Further, when she abanded the car, the person who was watching Caylee overnight was supposed to take the car, or arrange for someone to take the car. It was just too stupid for Casey to leave the car and have her parents find it.

Now that I've had time to think of all this, I have this strong feeling someone else is involved and Casey has kept it all to herself out of fear from her mother or maybe she was threatened by the other person, even if Caylee died by accident.

This is my very first post. I am honored to be permitted to speak on your renowned forum - thankyou.
If I may introduce myself briefly ... I am a middle-aged Australian male, a former armed forces intelligence analyst and have had a keen interest in criminlogy since I can remember. I am a long, long-time lurker, having been snooping around here for the past couple of years, and finally feel I may be able to contribute in some small way.
I have gone over and over transcipts, depositions, evidence, dynamics and your own brilliant summations in this case ... and then, as have so many, gone over them again! But I keep getting sidetracked, thrown off course or am forced to dismiss a theory or conclusion I come up with. It's one amazing puzzle!
If I allow my mind to cast aside the stories of lying, stealing, lost phones, cheese cartons, tire irons and tampering, one thing I find myself continually returning to is the play sand and small plastic toys at the (excuse the expression) dump site.
My latest theory and opinion is this:
The ever-escalating argument (no need to confuse ourselves over the reasons) between Cindy and Casey comes to a head on the night of the 15th.
Everyone goes to bed.
Casey texts and speaks to AL pretty much for hours on end except for one break of more than an hour in the very early hours of the 16th. This is the time she kills Caylee - by choking, smothering, drugging, chloroforming - who knows?
In the dead of night, she carries limp little Caylee out to the sandpit and places her in it, possibly covering her with sand, possibly not - it has a lid. In a rare moment of compassion - the only one she's ever had - she notices that sand is getting in Caylee's mouth and nose. This is where the duct tape and heart sticker come in.
(I do not believe for one minute that Cindy "heard them breathing" the next morning or that George saw them leave the house - they are either lying or confused),
She realises how risky this could be - what if the parents or family dogs discover Caylee in there? After a couple of days of texts, calls and sneaking around to ensure G and C are not home, she gets her chance. But Caylee has become a little bit icky. She backs her car into the garage and borrows the shovel. She picks Caylee up with the shovel and puts her into a bag, then another one. In the process, she has unavoidedly had to shovel some sand and plastic toys into the bag with Caylee.
The laundry basket with handles comes in handy for placing Caylee into the trunk of the car - after all, she doesn't want to have to actually TOUCH her.
IMO The short trip to Suburban is the only time Caylee was ever in the trunk of the car, but it was long enough to create the smell due to leakage.
Play sand and toys are found at the scene.

Why, when Greta van Susteren opened the lid of the sandbox during her backyard stroll with Cindy, was the sandbox set up full of Caylee's toys in an almost "shrine-like" manner?

Good theory..just one question though..I believe the shovel was tested for various things.....?

BBM - She (Caylee) was with Cindy on June 15th when they went to the nursing home to visit Cindy's father, so June 14th is of no significance. June 16th would be the date to focus on IMO.

If someone else was involved why did she drag her father and brother through the mud? It doesn't make sense.

AZwriter, you are too kind. You are looking at FCA as a "normal person". She's not. Deviant behavior is what's normal for her. She was capable of doing this all on her own and IMO, she did.

I also believe it was by means of asphyxiation. It was either the chloroform or the duct tape or both. Seems DCF agrees with that as did the prosecution team. Those items were the tools and we have experts to tell us her body was in that car at least 2 to 3 days so yes, she would have been in the car when FCA was strolling around Blockbusters with TL. She rented two movies. One rented was "Untraceable," about a kidnapper and killer. The other was "Jumper," about a mother who abandons her 5-year-old child, who then can teleport herself. Coincidince? I think not.

While this theory would make the whole thing easier to swallow, I just don't think the hard evidence would support this.
First of all, we have seen KCs cell phone records for June 16 and I don't recall any calls that could fit this theory.
Secondly, I just don't see anyone sitting in jail facing the DP when the death of Caylee was absolutely not their fault. Sorry, but KC is not a martyr here. (IMO).
Yes, it is hard to grasp that someone would keep her lifeless body in the trunk for days, but it is hard to grasp not reporting her missing or not reporting an accidental death for 31 days. Really, the only thing that can explain all of KCs actions is intentional harm to Caylee - premeditated murder or abuse that caused her death. This is MOO.

While some of the actions taken by KC do seem odd and not well planned out, I think JA explained it quite well in his closing argument - she would take a lie so far until its value ran out and buy time to think of the next lie. For example, I think abandoning the car was an effort to disassociate herself from the smell in the car while she thought of the next lie to tell. While she was an amazing liar, not all of her lies were well thought out. I really don't think she considered the possibility of the car being towed.

As someone stated here before, if you premeditate, you plan and make sure you know what to do with the body. I don't think it was premeditated. However, I also don't believe it was drowning. Defense came up with the drowning theory when nothing else worked. They tried implicating other people (Zanny, Kronk, Jesse) but just couldn't find anyone, so they had to fabricate a story that cleared KC of charges. Note that she wasn't accused of neglect, so accidental drowning fits nicely into the charges.

KC's behavior and the evidence shows that for a few days she just didn't know what to do. She came back home, maybe tried burring Caylee in the backyard, carried her in her trunk, and finally disposed of her in the woods. Therefore, I do think it was some sort of unplanned event. I think that KC suffocated Caylee in anger. Caylee acted up, didn't want to listen, and KC snapped (we saw her snap in court, it doesn't take much for her to get angry). It is possible that this happened at home. Caylee didn't have shoes on - many kids run barefoot around the house.

Once he's realized what she'd done, she knew what the consequences would be - she'd go to "jail for eternity" as she describes it in her text to Tony. Her first thought, hide her in the back yard. She knew this was temporary or things didn't go her way, so next idea is the trunk - get her out of the house. That's why the etymology report mentions that there were no "early flies" (not sure what the proper name is) or only one leg in the trunk. Then, she doesn't know what to do. Blanchard park is too busy, she goes home again, looking for ideas, but can't come up with anything. Eventually, she dumps the body in the woods.

As for the duct tape. I think it was either put on to make it look like kidnapping or to stop the fluids. As the body started to decompose, it purged fluids that also come out of the nose and mouth. The car starts to smell, fluids are in the carpet trunk liner - KC covers the nose and mouth to make it stop (or slow it down).

I also think it's possible that at some point KC changes Caylee's clothing. In her initial police report, she describes the clothes exactly the same way George does. It is possible that George doesn't remember what Caylee was wearing that day but wants to stick to what KC wrote in the report (God knows I couldn't tell you what I wore 3 days ago, never mind last month). KC sticks to the fact that "they haven't found her clothes yet". I think that she may have disposed the pink shirt and the blue jean skirt at a separate location hoping that police would find it and get sidetracked.

I am also very curious to find out what happened with her cellphone... She sent people through half of the state of Florida when giving "clues" as to where it could be. Did she lose it on purpose or accidentally?

Plausible?

I think that Casey was trying to get Lee to go retrieve the body from the woods through cryptic conversations she had with him while in jail.

At one point she says "she's close by, I can feel it" Maybe hoping Lee would go look for the baby, find her and then relocate it somewhere further away.

Actually, premeditation can happen as fast as you can blink your eye. You can have your finger on the trigger of a gun. It is the difference between squeezing your finger on the trigger or not. It can happen in a second as far as the legal definition is applied. It does not have to involve preplanning in depth.

This is one of the many things the jury did not understand.

many people dont understand that. I too think that was an issue for the jurors.

casey and CA fought on the 15th. things were tense. casey left with caylee for the night and they slept/hung out in the car in the nighborhood. she calls tonE. tonE suggests hooking up the next evening. Casey knows Caylee cant come..also knows CA is mad at her. CA calls casey from house phone at 7am before work. casey decides to come home, maybe storm has passed so to speak, after all CA called her. she comes home in the am after she knows CA is gone....normal day so far. she is not concerned with GA being there. he wont confront her about last night. she probably didnt say one word to him that day. he leaves for work..but she is getting pissy..lack of sleep has her agitated. she wants to leave. she calls CA to see if she will babysit..her plan to say she has to work. no answer. she tries GA to see why CA wont answer her. he doesnt answer. anger starts to brew. she starts reliving last nights events. she is pissed. are they really ignoring her? are they really going to take custody and kick her out. where are they? are they at a lawyers or work? how dare they ignore her. she now decides she is going out no matter what and doesnt want to be home when CA arrives. She brings car into garage planning on packing some stuff in it to take. she's pissed and is gonna show her parents she doesnt need them. she will just leave. well..ok where will she go? Caylee cant sleep at tonEs. Caylee is crying and yelling because caseys behavior is upsetting Caylee.. casey sees the duct tape, grabs it, tapes Caylee in a rage of emotion. throws her in the trunk then heads out stunned at what just happened.
i notice casey isn't looking "hot" in the Blockbuster video. most girls seeing a new guy tend to want to fix themselves up even just for a night in. casey doesnt look prepared for date night. i think after her rage she fled the house therefore not having time to dress up and fix her hair. when she started her day she probably figured she would shower and dress for "work" and hand Caylee to CA after asking CA to babysit on phone call. but today isnt normal. casey is tired, Caylee is fussy and she snapped when CA didnt answer

she probably drove around in shock ..realizing what she had done. she cant undo it. if caylee is alive she will tell CA and others. so casey keeps driving until she belives Caylee is dead. the goes to TonEs. hmmm..the shock has wore off but wait. she's having fun. this is great. she is not emcumbered anymore. shocks wears off into euphoria. wow. she has really went there. she feels powerful.
because she is lazy and distracted and doesn't know much about decomp she probably very easily left her in the trunk until the 18th. around that time she feels a little fear. what to do with a dead body. cant get caught. on the 18th she returns home. backs in car, borrows shovel, considers burying her in the back yard, finds it is too hard and a hole will be noticed. returns shovel. bags caylee and takes her to Surburban Road. she carries her as far as she can - 30 feet and hides her. this part was probably actually a bit tramautic for her. more than the actual killing.

at some point she steals the gas can (cant remember the day) she removes the valve hoping the smell will overpower the smell of death in her car. GA probably didnt smell much on the 24th. it would have been quick, trunk open, closed so fast, gas vapor from the van and casey speeding off. eventually the smell gets worse each day due to fluids baking in the heat. she ditches the car.

thats it. just a moment of rage that turned to relief. followed by a day to day fly by the seat of her pants lifestyle. once the crime was committed instead of guilt she felt..relief and that surprised her. she had a moment or 2 of "what have i done?" when tonE went to NY and she realized without Caylee she couldnt go home. it may have sunk in. oops. now what. thats why she was so emotional over tonE leaving. she had nowhere to go. maybe a moment of sadness when she cried while watching the sunshine video. but overall. she is kinda happy. she feels free. she does however start indulging in drugs more than before to block it all out- as per her 4am conversation with a friend at what may have been a visit to the burial site. there may have been little moments of OMG here and there but she could quicky recover from those.
i believe the reason the rage allowed her to kill Caylee as she already had death on her mind. i think she toyed with killing her parents in a staged home invasion or something. once your mind goes to a dark place anything can happen during an emotional "snap"

by the time casey was arrested she no longer felt emotion for what she did. she was to busy now focusing on herself. she didnt want to be in jail. she wanted her freedom that she has finally had a taste of. she can talk so carefree about caylee cuz hey..caylee is in a better place and darn it...this murder will NOT keep me from my freedom. caylee becomes more and more abstract to casey. she blocks out Caylee as a real person. she had cometo terms with what had happened already and now only cares about covering her own *advertiser censored*. and wow..hmm..this is kinda cool on a way. mom and dad are kissing my butt. i'm a celebrity...i have a hot team of legal boys. i'm treated speacial in jail....my lawyer says they have no case....i'll just keep lying. i'm smart, i'll get away with it.

Caylee becomes farther and farther away from caseys mind until the memories are only there for caseys purposes. she no longer realtes to what Caylee endured in any way at all. her newfound christianity tells her Caylee will never hurt or feel pain. casey decides she did caylee a favor. she doesn't deserve to be punished for this. she's a good liar. her parents bought the abduction story. i'll just keep lying. oops. that lie police are proving otherwise. ok..make up new lie. ect ect ect until she was released by 12 people who cant connect dots. casey probably expected to be found guilty of something!. when the jury found her "innocent" on all murder/abuse charges it was further proof to her God and Caylee forgive her and wants her to be happy and that she did the right thing *insert sneeze*

i cant figure where the chloroform comes in. if there was chloroform i have to go with premeditation or an overdose and have to rework a new theory. its just impossible for me to concoct a theory that fits every piece of circimstantial evidence. in that scenerio i have to think she chlorofomed her, placed her in truck, applied duct tape to prevent screaming and didnt give a rat's *advertiser censored* whether her daughter lived or died.

even thought i cant fit every piece into what really happened it doesent mean i think she is not guilty. i would have found her guilty of 1st or 2nd degree murder depending on what my competent jury and i deliberated on and discussed. her lack of grieving sometimes points me to premeditation ( i mean actually thinking it before doing it. not the legal defination of having a minute to stop yourself.)...but then i need to rework a theory on that.

regardless....i dont need to know exactly what happened to know Caylee died at caseys hands. and that is all the jury needed to know. they just couldn't connect the dots and latched onto that drowing story and hung on tight to it.

Yes it was that simple for them 31 days said it all and can only question why the laziness of these 12 was allowed by the big guy.

Plausible?

Do you think FCA actually knew about fluids? Surely she taped her up before she put her in the bags?
The specialists thought she was in the trunk, because of the early bug development for 1 - 3 days. There wouldn't be a lot of leakage if she was in three separate bags that were taped plus Caylee.

She would have been pointing the finger at anyone else who could possibly have been blamed

Oh, gag me. JVM is on pimping for the Anthonys on the Dr. Phil show.

Knowing KC I think as Caylee got older she looked more to CeCe than Mom for comfort. If there was a fight on the 15th my guess is Caylee wanted her CeCe and KC went off in a rage and Caylee became the victum. jmo
