If Dad knew his son was a potential criminal liability, I wonder if Dad can be held civilly responsible for the wrongful deaths?

Interestingly parents' home title is held in trust, not individually but jointly in trust for both parents. Maybe parents

were being pre-emptively cautious knowing their son was a loose cannon.

A lot of people do that nowadays in order to protect their property from probate. The other(s) named in the trust get the property. But someone please correct me if I'm wrong. We decided to do a Ladybird deed for our heirs because Florida allows that.

From my notes so far:
Moved to Nashville in the fall. Worked in the crane and construction industry. Was fired from one of his jobs 3 weeks ago. Got another job, worked Monday and didn't show up again.
Arrived at 3:19 am at Waffle House. Sat in vehicle for 3.5-4 minutes just looking at people. Then got out and approached the building. Two people standing outside were fatally shot.
A patron who had headed to the restroom saw an opportunity, wrestled the gun away and tossed it.
TR left, shed the coat he'd been wearing (later found with extra ammo in pockets) police think he headed to his apartment, put on pants and then went into the wood line.
Witness saw man without a shirt matching TR description in wood line.

So, in July 2017, TR was caught in a restricted area of the White House. He was released, but his Illinois firearm permit was revoked and 4 guns were removed from him. Those guns were later released to his father, who admits to giving them back to TR.

oh goodness that is really dumb

we have to be talking about uneducated people

For Probate, YES, but his parents are young, father is only 54. Not an age that they're planning for their demise.

But planning for their liability, instead, IMO.

I'd wager this son has been a problem for quite a while and had no parental intervention. Things just got worse.

Pretty obvious to me, the father didn't do much to help the son.

Google weather says 59 degrees F and rain. That'll make things harder on the dogs out searching. Stay safe LE!

i think we gotta be doing drugs he has been naked or not dressed for temp rain for hours

i think he is dead

has to be cold since 13 hours ago

this is just stupid giving your kid back guns

give me a break

he is posting crap online

give a break

I hope he's not holed up in someone's house and keeping the residents hostage.
But he no longer has a weapon right?

my guess is he's been on a drug binge since early in week when he decided he wasn't going back to new job.

Drugs for sure. Meth? Bath Salts? who know? I think there's some new street drug that makes you wanna shed clothes.

to give the guns back is some second amendment religious stuff

<modsnip>

i just think it is gonna be an uneducated group simple kinda folks etc

Asked what he wanted to do at the White House, he wanted to set up a meeting with the president.

'Nuff said!

Two guns are missing from his apt. One gun was in his truck, one used in shooting. So 2 are known missing.

Why would the father give him back the guns? Grrr...it's like Nancy Lanza giving her mentally disturbed son automatic weapons. Nothing bad was going to happen from that...

They work in a dangerous industry. My guess they set it up so that if they were ever found liable for a crane accident, they wouldn't lose everything. Seems it might help them in this situation as well though.

Waffle House shooting: Police confirm AR-15 used in attack at Antioch diner

The type of weapon used in several recent mass shootings was also used Sunday morning in an attack at a Waffle House in Antioch that left four dead and at least seven injured, Nashville police said.

Police said Travis Reinking, 29, used an AR-15 assault-style rifle in an attack at the Waffle House. Reinking fled the scene, nude, and has yet to be apprehended.

No, he had four guns, two haven't been found. He could very well be armed.

The sincerity James Shaw Jr. displayed at the press conference... just wow! Very emotional and with a great sense of humor despite what he‘s been through. Very likable guy.
