Every time I read that sentence it feels so wrong. With parole. Why?!

I just hope the judge runs any other sentences consecutively. This is one of the most horrific cases I’ve ever seen. They should never be free again.

I remember the first time I heard Chris and Channon’s names. 2 weeks after Christmas, with 2 toddlers in diapers. Those toddlers are now teenagers old enough to learn to drive.

This case gave me nightmares and I had to stop reading about it. The sentence is not enough. Not that anything ever would be.

Jury finds Eric Boyd guilty of 2007 Christian-Newsom murders

August 13, 2019

"A Knox County jury on Tuesday declared Eric Boyd guilty in the Christian-Newsom murders.

The seven-woman, five-man jury deliberated since Monday before returning its verdict in the Knox County Criminal Court trial on Tuesday at approximately 2 p.m.

The verdict carries an automatic life sentence.

Boyd is the fifth defendant to stand trial in the 2007 Knoxville slayings of Channon Christian, 21, and Christopher Newsom, 23...."

The statements by the Newsoms and Christians here are both inspiring and heartwrenching.
These parents have all shown so much class in the face of so much unspeakable horror.

Their children's lives were cruelly, viciously, and obscenely ripped from them by that pack of evil animals.

Every last one of the vile monsters who participated in the tortures, rapes and murders of CC and CN should have been sentenced to death, including this one.

That this particular piece of primordial slime has been sentenced to life WITH the possibility of parole after being convicted of not just 1, but 2, unspeakably brutal murders is a gross miscarriage of justice.

May he never draw another free breath.

Oh Wow! I've followed this case since it hit the news prior to the discovery of the bodies and have watched every single trial and read everything I could find. I felt hopeful when I heard what the jury's question was about. Then I left to go to the grocery store and pharmacy and of course that is when the verdict comes in.........Damn. I'm so happy at the outcome of the verdict I could dance and feel so relieved that these parents can now say that they have completed their mission to get justice for their children.
I feel like crying right now.

I know exactly how you feel. I, too, think that all five involved, including Vanessa Coleman should have received the death penalty. It has been painful to see lesser-than verdicts but we have to live with the fact that they are put away for a long time. That said, I would really like to see Vanessa Coleman charged with murder and would gladly watch a trial again with her being charged.

Wow. Just....Wow.

These statements by the Christians and the Newsoms, as well as the DA were all so poignant and so powerful.

I'm not an emotional person by nature, but watching that press conference, I had tears in my eyes.

Prayers for Grace, Mercy and Peace to Chris and Channon's families both now and in the years to come.
