The lawyers approach the judge for a bench conference. Family members are crying, their heads down. Earlier today, Mary Newsom told me she was praying for this moment. This is the defendant she believes killed and raped her son. She wanted him to be found guilty

I can't imagine what justice looks like since Channon and Chris will never be here again, but this is a good step. Thanks to ALL for coverage and comments during this latest trial. Still just as painful as day 1 for those who loved and cared and Chris and Channon.
