Three counts of murder and 10 of attempted murder, I just hope he doesn't get too much leniency if found guilty for being a minor.

Just be aware that now he has been charged that discussing his case gets really difficult.

It saddens me to see more violence breaking out accross the country, the attack is just an excuse to justify what these thugs have wanted to do for a long while.

Telegraph reporting that the accused was a member of a theatre group, and performed in a West End show :Southport stabbings suspect performed in West End show

Sounds like the parents were trying to encourage their sons into healthy social activities, and mentions that the older brother was a lot more outgoing and that the younger took part and enjoyed the group but was not a typical theatre kid.

This situation with the name reminds me of when Huw Edwards' name was being concealed ( and look how that turned out ). As in this case, everyone in the media, politics, and of course the locals in the area know the name, but the general public are kept in the dark.
And I am sure that some of those protesting in the local area know his identity even if some of them are from outside locations. All you would have to do is ask a local villager.
Now that his family is in protection, and to stop all the fake news, the judge should release his name. The severity of the crimes and the civil unrest this is causing needs to be managed by facing up to whoever this person is and dealing with it in a rational and truthful manner. The longer they wait, the worse it is going to get and there is no way this can be kept secret much longer from all of us.

Only a judge would have the power to lift the anonymity order, and now that he's been charged he wont actually appear before a judge at a Crown Court for a few weeks.

I don’t believe naming him would have made a single bit of difference to the mindless yobs who are rioting. And the law/court decisions shouldn’t be driven by appeasing racist rioters.

He may be named when he turns 18 this month, IMO - as often happens anyway.

There's often other church related activities going on in the same place. And quite frankly, extra security isn't going to stop a loan criminal who plans to do something like this from doing it. What about classes outside as well? Or just children in a playground. Children have to live their lives and thankfully cases like this are rare.

What really needs to happen is attack like this need to be explored and learned from. What went wrong? What made a 17 year old male act this way. MOO.

This shocking tragedy affected every child that takes dance lessons or their families.

My 9 yr old granddaughter went to dance class yesterday afternoon. She does not know anything about the Southport incident, as far as we know. But my son left work early to sit in and watch the class. He cannot do that every Wednesday of course, but he really wanted to yesterday.

Usually my DIL goes and does errands or goes grab a coffee during dance class. But she said from now on she plans to stay right there with the class, because she feels so traumatised still from the devastating incident.

I agree. Even without the misinformation, one of the victims was also a child of foreign nationals who settled in the UK. That fact is being totally brushed over so rioters can push a narrative. If they had their way, this child and their parents would also be removed from the country - absolutely no self-awareness whatsoever! It's so vile but there will always be people who seize information, true or not, and twist it for their own purposes.

Even for the EDL and Robinson fanbase, this whole situation is a massive cognitive leap... MOO.

Crown Court appearances can be much quicker. I think ( hope ) for such a high profile crime, that the Magistrates Court today may even send him to CC tomorrow.
 
17-year-old charged with murder of three girls in Southport attack

A 17-year-old has been charged with the murder of three girls at a dance class in Southport.

Chief Constable of Merseyside Police Serena Kennedy said: "Whilst these charges are a significant milestone within this investigation, this remains very much a live investigation and we continue to work with our partners from Lancashire Police and counter-terrorism police in the North West."
