Convicted killer Letalvis Cobbins was transferred to a maximum-security prison in West Tennessee today, three days after a state senator protested his location in the medium-security Hardeman County prison, according to Correction Commissioner George Little.
Cobbins still remains officially classified as a "medium-security" inmate, the commissioner said, but will be in a maximum-security unit.
He said that a call from Sen. Tim Burchett, R-Knoxville, and concerns expressed by the family of a victim were considered in the relocation. But having him in maximum security is also appropriate since Cobbins has "protective custody" status because of death threats made against him.

Poor baby has some death threats against him, sucks doesn't it Rome. :angel:

Good for the families for standing up for what's right and getting action.
 
They talk about the cost to house inmates, I don't have a problem with Cobbins and Davidson sharing a cell. lol
 
Initially you would think that Letalvis and Lemaricus hate each other for the way that they have been pointing fingers at each other throughout this ordeal. At least I did, making Julie's statement about putting them in a jail cell together worth all the money in the world to see them tear each other apart limb by limb. However, I remembered reading an article that stated that the two were together during a prison transport (when the van got into an accident and forced Rome to show up to court with a sling on his arm??) and were joking around and laughing with each other. IMO, it shows the true colors of these two animals that they know for a fact that they both are to blame for what happened...and all the finger pointing in court was in fact just a show.

Yeah but at that point I don't think either one knew of the others statements, now that both of the trials are over that information is out there for all to see. I am pretty sure it would change things since Davidson is now on death row, he could just want to take his dear old brother with him.
 
Have any members of the jury spoken to any of the media? It would be very interesting to hear there thoughts,
 
Not that I have seen so far, Joe. I'm eager to hear from them too. I'd love to know what they thought about the defense's tactics, in particular.
 
I live in VA and hadn't heard about this case until I visited some relatives in Knoxville this summer. Inconceivable this wasn't a major national story all this time. I believe my Aunt and Uncle said at least one of the families goes to their church.

Anyway, this was one of the most heinous crimes I have heard about. I pray for the Christian and Newsom families.

As for the murderers, if anyone deserves to rot in hell, it would be these guys.
 
The taped replay of the Cobbins trial will be on Tru TV's In Session starting Monday. Cobbins was convicted in August and sentenced to life without parole.
 
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Judge Richard Baumgartner has reset George Thomas' trial to Dec. 1. Jury selection for his trial will begin Nov. 18. Thomas' trial was previously set Nov. 8.

Thomas will be the third suspect to stand trial for the January 2007 carjacking, kidnapping, rape and murder of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.

Thomas' trial was pushed back because the second suspect to be tried, accused ringleader Lemaricus Davidson, has had his trial pushed back two -- one week to allow the defense to test DNA evidence and a second week because of a scheduling conflict with the medical examiner.

Davidson arrived at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution’s Unit 2 in Nashville around 6 p.m. local time, said Dorinda Carter, spokeswoman for the Tennessee Department of Correction. He’ll spend 23 hours per day alone in his cell every day, with just one hour of daylight in a caged yard.

That status won’t change for at least 18 months, Carter said. Depending on his behavior, Davidson could eventually be upgraded to allow occasional phone calls or the chance to apply for inmate jobs such as cleaning, she said. “Regardless of their status, they don’t ever leave that building."

I've been thinking about the ME saying it seemed as if Channon was 'kicked' or 'struck' in the genital area. Seems to me that might be something that Vanessa would have done, being jealous of Cobbins 'attention' to Channon several different times. It doesn't seem like something the men (animals) would have done since they were already raping her repeatedly. I also think she may have had alot to do with the bleach pouring... not just standing around watching. What say you guys?
 
I think it was three fold, the repeated rapes left a lot of injury, look at what the oral sex did to her mouth these were not gentle rapes they were forceful (most likely from behind which would make it easier to do more damage (sorry for being so graphic) . I also think the stuffing her down in the trash can with her bottom hitting the floor could have done some injury (remember how the ME showed sperm didn't enter her bottom from the way she was in the trash can) and the bleach would really make it totally inflamed. I really have to keep in mind that god has granted us the ability to go into shock when something this horrible happens, my heart just aches for what these two went through, it honestly keeps me awake some nights.
I really don't get the feeling that VC or GT had anything to do with the rapes, unless LE has more proof. Don't get me wrong I hope they all get death, for not helping Chris and Channnon.

I was thinking about how Davidson was the one driving the SUV, he was the one giving items away in the SUV to VC and his ex girlfriend he had a sense of entitlement, I took them they are mine I think he had the most sex and I think he most likely told his brother to help himself. I also feel he is the one that sexually assaulted Chris. I really get the feeling he was the one that called the shots and the others just as guilty followed right along.

That's been my exact conviction as well, dg. She might not have used the bleach, but I'd expect it to be more her idea, and i'll always believe she did the kicking and object, etc... :no:

I absolutely LOVE the fact that jurors there are allowed to ask their own questions, and do so in common sense terms! When I get a free moment I'm going to look into where this is allowed and see if I can push to have it introduced where I live.

I have served on several trials as juror and the most frustrating thing I can remember is not being able to ask the questions that were never asked. This freedom is definitely needed in all jury trials IMO.

I totally believe that a woman would use objecyts as weapons against another woman. I would not be surprised if she were the one who raped the couple with an object while the men held them down. That way she could rape right along with them. She would be more brutal with the woman focusing on the female genitalia as payback for her man enjoying the other woman.
 
Little off topic here, but I was at the movies last night to see 2012 (Awesome movie you have to see) anyway they were showing previews of the movie Blindside which is to be released next week, it looked so good I had to come home and find out more about it after doing so I couldn't help but think of Davidson and what his life could have been had he stayed with the family that tried to help him. I am excited to see the movie it looks like a real tear jerker in a good way.
