I don't understand this. It's been tradition in thousands of cultures for hundreds of years for groups of family women to raise children together. Each child just as their own regardless of whether they birthed them or not.

Just because Americans think that mothers should do it all on their own doesn't mean that other cultures have to adhere to that or should face judgement if they don't. In actuality there have been extensive studies that community or familial raising of children is extremely beneficial to children.

The situation with Evelyn is she is a missing child with an active Amber Alert. Quite a bit different than a village together raising a child, or her mother or sister or friend watching the baby while she's at work or school. At this moment, there are many resources actively searching for this child, and the legal, custodial, biological mother is saying she doesn't know where the child is. We all hope Evelyn is safe, but she may be in danger, or worse.

Let's all try to see the situation for what it is, shall we?

Tricia said in her YouTube LIVE a few nights ago that she spoke with someone who knows EP and he did not see Evelyn over the holidays. The video is in the media thread. MOO

Okay then, now I'm convinced that the baby had some sort of accident or trauma inflicted right around Christmas time. This, coupled with the story about the broken arm... If she had been treated in an ER, then I believe LE would be showing more urgency. Not that they are not taking this seriously (they certainly are) but I don't think they'd be quite as patient with MB as they have been. This is news that pushes me right into the thinking that EB has been deceased since Christmas time. I can't think of one reason why the mother of a child would invent a broken arm if it weren't true or if something equally as bad or worse had actually happened. If EB was deceased, then of course, an ER visit would be unnecessary and there would, of course, be no records to find.

I don’t think MB’s lies are hindering LE. I think not having found a body yet is what is hindering LE.
Well, LE did say the investigation has been difficult due to the late reporting and all the misinformation they were given. I think her lies and the lack of cooperation from others has absolutely hindered the investigation. If it had been reported earlier they would have had a better chance at finding her alive.
I wonder if they found any evidence in the BMW. Jmo

I'm assuming there's another one to go along with the news-referenced "Maggie Nicole Kys" FB, since we haven't met anyone with the surname "Kys" yet in connection with this case.

[ETA: This is not a suggestion to sleuth someone with that surname; just a note for if it comes up in connection with another media article.]

KYS isn’t a name. It’s an acronym. I won’t post it, anyone interested can google. That’s the account that has not been updated since she was like 14, right? I think it’s an emo angsty teen thing. MOO.

ITA. Well said.

You don't think the time and resources spent by LE to check out MB's lies are not having an impact on LE seeking to locate EB?

Meh. LE has to investigate. Having MB making up stories to suit her moods seems to be more ammunition for the eventual prosecution in my mind. I think running down phones stories is not exactly the most efficient use of LE’s time, but this is a major case, and Investigation is going to happen. As far as an earlier reporting giving them more time to find her alive, I just don’t see this as reality. I think something fatal happened, whether accidental or from abuse, and there was never a chance to find a live Evelyn. Maybe they would have had a better chance of finding her body had it been exported sooner, but the lack of reporting isn’t the misinformation that I was alluding to. I truly think LE is letting her wave in the breeze and concoct these stories on purpose to eventually trap her in her web of lies.

"Megan Boswell, the mother of missing Evelyn, told News Channel 11 in a Facebook message that she was pregnant.
Megan Boswell tells News Channel 11 she is pregnant, claims she was unable to take polygraph because of it
Yes...but... of all the lies spewed out of her mouth, would you be surprised if this was another one?

Sullivan Country Sheriff's office doesn't even do polygraphs. And TBI hasn't scheduled her for one, so what the hell is she going on about ?

Megan Boswell claims she is pregnant, unable to take polygraph test
Exactly

Romani marriage is expected at a young age (young teen to early 20's) and so is parenthood. Birth control heavily leans toward natural methods if any is used at all. Courtships are rather quick. By the time someone is in their 20's there's a very good chance they are already taking a big part in raising nieces and nephews or other family's children. Parenthood just isn't seen as a huge burden like it would be to your typical American teenager because it's a community effort to raise kids.
I don't think HW "not wanting to be a Daddy" is a motive or contributing factor here.

@bellyup -- thanks for sharing your knowledge and insight of Roma culture in America.

I don't think too many are aware that they are one of the largest ethnic minorities in Europe — about 12 million to 15 million people, and about a million living in the United States, according to Time.

ETA: I'm not aware of any evidence that MB, AB, et., al live by this culture.
