I was in bed and got back up to check on this very vehicle. It’s bugging me. Who owns the vehicle? Why did they release possession of a BMW before the purchase had been completed, then later report it stolen?
I believe there only theories about who owns it, if it started out borrowed, and then ended up “stolen”, and who had possession and when.

I'm just coming up to speed on Evelyn's case and don't know what to think at the moment. I watched an interview with her mom and on one hand she appears concerned yet OTOH the content of her statements come off (IMO) as almost flippant.

What's the current thinking here? I'll continue catching up but I'm curious to hear what my fellow WS posters think. Thanks!

Megan Boswell says she knows who has Evelyn, claims she was afraid to report her missing

The thing that bugs me most about the mom’s statements is that she says, “they kinda vanished” and she is “kinda worried.” They either vanished or they didn’t; she is either worried or she isn’t. There is no kinda here. She said she probably would report her right away if she could have a do-over. This after she allegedly hasn’t seen her baby in over two months!! This should be a solid, definitive, yes I would report this immediately. She isn’t concerned. She spent a lot of time making sure we see her as not responsible for any of this.

Interesting, thank you ketelone. I just realized it’s a 2007 BMW, so we aren’t talking super high value. Probably will turn out the owner is irrelevant to the case. But for anyone who wants to dig further, CARFAX will reverse search a license plate number to a VIN number (free), and FAXVIN might turn up owner history with a paid search.

Lol. I’m kinda local. We fire a cannon at all the cannon-firing holidays (July 4, New Year’s, etc.), and we are all college-educated, literally since the 1930’s. But firing a cannon is fun if you live in the boonies.

Nope. It was hand-made by my cousin! Lolol

LOL this just keeps getting better the more I visualize it.

I suspect that AB and the dude didn’t realize that it was stolen. I think that the car happened to play well toward making AB look as bad as possible in hopes that she would take the fall. I think that MB (and probably with the help of HW) have tried very hard to distance themselves and point the blame at AB. I bet we will find out that AB borrowed the car from MB to go run errands or be out of town for a very short while... and the timing worked out in a way that made it possible to claim they were on the run. It would not surprise me if AB was out of town hiding evidence for MB.

Why would they wait for extradition to question them, especially when they're already two months behind in trying to find Evelyn? They're in custody of LE that I'm sure is perfectly capable of questioning them. That seems odd, IMO.
It was reported that TN investigators and TBI headed straight to NC to interview them about missing Evelyn the day they were apprehended in the stolen BMW and arrested. They did not wait for extradition when it came to the child.

But she say the food was in little containers.

Yes, but I used to work with people with substance use disorder. The only parents I have ever heard describe leaving food out on the floor in containers were neglectful mothers who put food out so their kid could survive when they were passed out from using. I have two boys. I gave them snack cups, and yes, they sometimes crawled around with them a bit, but I would never describe that as leaving food out on the floor, nor would any other parent that I know. The only people I have ever heard describe this were very neglectful.

I still can’t get past the fact that she referenced leaving food on the floor. Other than the huge delay in reporting, this comment bothers me the most. It makes me feel like something horrible has happened. I pray that I am wrong.

It is possible that if EB was used to finding her food on the floor, she might have happened to find some pill or licked something with meth on it. Grandma looks like she enjoys some drugs. Maybe they panicked and hid the baby’s body after an accidental ingestion.

Lord, help us... You are right about the possibility and I pray this is not the case.

MB (allegedly) handed EB off to someone back in December and that was the last she saw of her.

A couple of questions:
  • Was MB receiving Families First/TANF assistance from the State of TN for EB?
  • Was MB receiving child support payments for EB from EB's bio dad?
I'm curious about the financials here.

They may be highly relevant.

Especially since theft appears to be an issue in this family.

JMO.

We know that the sheriff stated he was acknowledging the Dec 10, 2019 last sighting date of Evelyn by an independent babysitter over Dec 26, 2019 date alleged by MB, the mother.

I was taken back by the generous contributions* to Evelyn's reward fund by her grandfather and her uncle. From their generosity -- it seems they would have also been willing to contribute to appropriate daycare for Evelyn while MB worked. In other words, I think MB had a choice of caregivers for her child.

It was also the grandfather that reported Evelyn missing.

Reward for return of Evelyn Boswell now up to $56,000

The following people and companies have contributed to the reward fund:

  • Sullivan County Sheriff Jeff Cassidy - $1,000
  • Alan Levine - $5,000
  • Ballad Health - $25,000
  • Fuller Paving Group - $2,000
  • Indian Springs Armory - $500
  • Storage Source One Self-Storage-$2,500
  • Tommy Boswell Sr. - $10,000*
  • Tommy Boswell Jr. - $10,000*
Evelyn was reported missing earlier this week. On Friday, Sheriff Jeff Cassidy announced in a press conference he was donating his own money and starting a reward fund. Ballad Health and CEO Alan Levine along with Fuller Paving Group followed shortly with their own contributions to the fund.

I hate to be cynical but the reward fund is for the safe return of EB. If you have information that leads you to believe EB will never be safely returned, you could offer to put up a million dollars since you know it will never happen. I think these are just pledges and they aren’t collecting the money until it would be paid out too.

she is scarred of police and was taught from the time she could walk to be scarred of them.
She is from a family that see police as the enemy who is out to get you and should be avoided at all costs do not tell them anything. Lots of people in this area have that attitude.

I'm not sure I follow. If you are referring to Maggie, it seems to me that her father (Evelyn's grandfather) is the individual that contacted authorities to report Evelyn missing. That does not seem like someone that considers police his enemy or afraid of them. Grandfather and his son also made a large contribution to the reward for Evelyn that was initiated by the Sheriff. If MB's father and brother are not afraid of the police, why would this "fear" apply to MB?

I keep thinking about TB’s interview saying to his ex wife “if Evelyn doesn’t come home I’m gonna do something about it,” and she said “you better not do that you’re gonna regret this.”

To me this means at least mom (grandma) knows something. JMO

My heart just sank! I hope it's not true that they have knowledge the child will not ever return safe and sound. Reality sucks....

Anything that would render you ineligible for the benefits you’re getting. For example, getting a job while on unemployment, making more money than the limit for cash assistance, getting insurance while on Medicaid, no longer having custody of a child you’re collecting benefits for, someone in the family dying. When you apply you certify that you meet the set out requirements and you agree to let them know if anything on that paper changes.

But to someone else’s question in this situation you’d have to prove she was no longer caring for a dependent and using any money still being collected for herself. It’s much easier if the state catches a company paying payroll tax for someone and that someone is on unemployment.

There’s always a cost-benefit of what investigators spend their time on too. I mentioned the $2,500 unemployment case because I couldn’t believe my county had nothing better to prosecute than a lady working a minimum wage job. Surely there are more deserving executives and hospitals who could use a fraud investigation than someone barely scraping by trying to get on their feet again. (JMO MOO)
The unemployment case you cite is fraud upon the employer not the government. Company HR departments track unemployment claims and of course they will press charges.

BBM What makes AB look as bad as possible is her threat to MB's father that he would regret reporting the baby's disappearance. The baby is STILL missing. Blame will be placed on whomever is responsible.

Based on Google searches, the grandfather and brother could have reason to be at odds with police... so it means even more that they are concerned enough about Evelyn to call authorities, and raised reward money.
