5/14/20: Theft: During a preliminary hearing today, her father David Jones said she had been living at his home and was always welcome there, leading Judge Mark Toohey to dismiss a burglary charge. She is still facing a charge of theft and taking contraband into jail, all unrelated to the death of her granddaughter. Judge Toohey also ruled that Angela could be a flight risk and kept her bond at $50K. Judge Mark Toohey found probable cause to charge Angela with theft under $10,000, introduction of contraband into a penal facility, possession of counterfeit money & criminal simulation. Angela was bound over to the Sullivan County Grand Jury & was given a bond of $50,000, which is separate from her bond in Bristol related to a stolen vehicle which was sought by investigators in the Evelyn Boswell case. Since Evelyn’s case started attracting attention in March, local lawmakers have tried to advance legislation named in her honor. The ‘Evelyn’s Law’ bill would increase penalties against parents or guardians who don’t report their children missing to law enforcement within 48 hours. If they don’t – it would be a Class A misdemeanor. If harm or death came to that child, it would be a Class C felony, which can mean three to 15 years in prison.

“It was inspired by Evelyn and what happened to her,” said Representative Bud Hulsey.

How is this not already law? What parent on earth would not report their 'missing' child immediately, if they were truly missing? Seems rather odd that this is just being proposed now, after so many horrific deaths of innocent babies and children have already occurred. Praying for some positive happenings, to restore some tidbit of hope in humanity.

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (WCYB) — The prosecution will announce its decision on whether it will pursue the death penalty against Megan Boswell, who has been charged with the murder of her daughter, baby Evelyn, in December.

The next hearing date is scheduled for December 3. District Attorney General Barry Staubus said there are three options for enhanced punishment: life in prison, life in prison without parole, and the death penalty.

News 5 asked Staubus if he plans to seek the death penalty.

"Under the law its an option," he said. "It's for us to make that determination between now and then... and that determination has not been made."

I missed it too. Life is so weird nowadays, and I pretty much pop on to log Illinois COVID cases and then pop right back out.

Hmmm.... were the initial DV and child abuse charges against McCloud related to this case or part of outstanding warrants for charges not related to Evelyn? His name always confuses me! Thanks @Niner!
