The blood may not belong to Holly or even to her attacker. It may not even be human. It could have been part of a ruse to lure the young nursing student into the woods, saying that someone was injured and needed help... doesn't it seem like someone would need to be bleeding fairly substantially for blood to be noticed?

This could explain why she may have walked into the woods of her own volition, and even why no one inside heard a scuffle, screams, etc. (as far as we know).

Have there been any confirmations in the media about duct tape?

What's really different about this case is that it seems Holly was taken from her home residence, with someone else home at the time, in broad daylight, at a time when someone who was familiar with the family's schedules could see that the parents had left for the day, and at a time when Holly was ready to leave for school...and she walked away on her own two feet with the person...when she needed to go take an exam for college...so we can assume she was somehow seriously compelled to cooperate...by a person who was apparently organized specifically to pull off this abduction...

SNIPPED....

:cow:
I wonder if the perp didn't realize the brother was home. Just thinking out loud. Wonder if the brother had a car parked there. I wonder if he normally is at work at that time? or school?

I have no idea but LE should be asking the parents, brother, and her best gf's she had at the time she was in High School.

but shes been out of HS for what 2 yrs?
Question he circle of friends.
Interview ppl at the places she would shop.
The mall.
Her college.
Bars clubs etc..
whats the drinking age there?

I was just thiking that if this guy kills Holly he might just kill himself too.

Well they found duct tape on wone of the searches but have not said anything about linking it to Holly.

Trying to get up to speed here. Thanks to all posting updates. My heart goes out to Holly and her family. I pray she is found safe :rose:

Missing adults - what the experts say:
Most of the time, an adult is taken by someone they know. The majority of adult abductions take place at home. In the majority of cases that involve missing adults, the perpetrator is someone that the adult knows. Most of the adult abductions are women who are taken by men that they know. These can be husbands or boyfriends, or men that they have met before.

When an adult goes missing, there are other possibilities that the police must consider. Sometimes, a woman or a man is taken by someone who does not know them. In these cases, it is often harder to solve.

94% were adult women taken by males.
56% had no prior relationship to their abductors.
The offender often held an exaggerated view of the relationship between himself and his victim.
67% of adult abductions happened in places with unrestricted public access, like parking lots (So Holly's case is already outside the norm in this respect.)
Only 33% began in the victims home. Those with no prior relationship grabbed the victim from a public or semipublic area, those that knew her took her from her home or job.
Predatory adult kidnappers often worked without a partner, 56% using physical force, 39% using coercion or deception. 22% of those that used a weapon used a firearm, and 17% used a knife to threaten their victims.
In 94% of adult abductions, the victim was sexually assaulted (I'm sorry to type that.)
78% were transported after the initial abduction and 83% were held less then a day.
Only 6% of adult kidnappings happened during the day, with a full 50% happening between 4 p.m. an midnight. However, with the time of Holly's abduction, 7:30-8 a.m., she would be in the early morning category according to this author, which is midnight to 8 a.m., when 28% of adult abductions happened.
In ALL of the cases selected for this particular study, the offenders were sane, with no signs of delusions or psychotic behavior. Even with strangers the abductions and assaults were organized.
83% of the adult victims survived. 56% were simply released, 22% were found by LE. Only 6% saved themselves.

In 2008 the brother was a member of LS1.com and owned a 2002 TA. Not sure if he still owns that TA but living that far out he definitely has his own transportation.
His car could of been in the shop. Who knows? Wish we knew more.

I seriously doubt that. He probably has his own vehicle..

IMO, the planning and the time of day and this boldness makes the situation more personal, and for me, increases the "wild card" feel of things here...

IMO, it could go either way... it really could...

I feel like this was a great deal of effort and planning by this perp, IMO he had some strong feelings about Holly - one way, or the other.

Same thing happened to Jodi Sanderholm, she was at her mailbox when she was abducted by Justin Thurber, it happened in broad daylight too.

Justin Thurber had been stalking Jodi for ten years; He also stalked some of the woman on Jodi's college dance team.

Camera footage show JT following Jodi to her college and then following her home where he abducted her and forced her into her own car. He then drove her to a secluded wildlife park in Kansas). LE later found Jodi's Mail & College Jacket thrown at the bottom of a Rest Stop toilet. they later found her flip flops and they found her car at the bottom of a lake, it was only after searchers left for the day that on a hunch two searches decided to look for more clues and one of them saw two fingers poking out of the brush. that's how they found Jodi. :(

Do we know how many searchers have shown up today? I wonder how the new roadblocks are working out so far.

I'm holding on to hope that Holly is still alive. I'm not unrealistic at all, but I want so badly for this not to be another Summer Inman. That case took a lot out of me and I'm still terribly sad about it.

Great, great work on these stats! Thanks!
Do you have any conclusions based upon them?
In a way, reminds me of the Molly Bish case in that it seems to me that Holly was lured away..

Less than 300

What about this!!!!!! sleuthers!!!!!!

What if this unsub is someone Holly knows,,, could be a guy that hangs in their circle of friends (this is just pretend ok not fact) Ok his mom notices hes acting withdrawn something isnt right maybe he had ranted to her about Holly not paying atention to him.
bla bla bla....

She may not or should I say she probably wont call the LE on her son....

This is what I am thinking. Even any family member who notices something different about another family member would probably think "It's not him." It would be hard to fathom.

There was also the girl who was abducted from Target in Overland Park. The guy had been stalking her. Kelsey Smith I think her name was.

Could it be that Holly was trafficked for the sex trade? Maybe someone wanted a beautiful blonde sountern girl. It has happened before in Tennessee. Stacey Walls. Here is her sister's blog.

http://humantraffickinganamericanni...02/founder-christy-walls-sex-trafficking.html

Christy younger sister Stacey had been coerced into modeling for a low budget “Smut” magazine and as well as was coerced into being a professional high level escort which she would fly from Tennessee to New York and get paid $10,000 a night to be with plastic surgeons, writers, musicians, and even movie producers and the list goes on.

For those here that are familiar with Jessie Foster's case, ( a true bona fide, no doubt about it human trafficking case IMO), the resemblance bwtween the two is striking. Don't get me wrong, I don't for one second think the two are related, Jessie has been missing for 5-6 years from Canada, but if Jessie is the kind of girl they go for, then Holly is a prime target. Pics of Jessie at below link:

Will Nunley says less than 300 have signed in as of 10am...:(

The sex trafficking may apply if it were in a big city. Not likely for them guys to spend the days monitoring the family to know when to attack. Imagine some city guy in the woods getting bitten by bugs and complaining while looking through binoculars.

Exactly! Even if that hinkey meter is going offfff No one wants t believe something like that. that cant happen in my family!
