I just don't think TC is either remarkably intelligent or prepared. He picks up ET and she leaves her backpack behind. He leaves a note which alerts his wife immediately. He dyes his hair as if that is a surprise move.

Something just occurred to me about that. There's been speculation that he's been putting out a false trail of disinformation. Could that bag have been left behind intentionally? Perhaps it was meant to be found by the police/family, but instead someone stole it?

There might have been some (false) clues in the bag as to where they were going - travel brochures or maps, for example.

Indeed. If he is not being helped out by others, I wonder just what he'll do to finance this escapade. If he plans to stay in the U.S., he'll obviously have to get some type of job, and I firmly believe someone will recognize him if he tries to do so. A person can only alter their appearance only so far.

I see him standing in front of a Walmart, gas station or some business, spinning some type of sob story to get money ("my wife is really sick, and I've been laid off - can you please help?")

Will continue to keep my eyes open here in L.A.

Ironically we had a police stand off situation in North Ga, at a Walmart, with a man in an RV parked in the lot!! It lasted a few hours.

LE said the man was shooting his gun round 7.30pm 16 April and went inside his RV and would not come out.

Pamela Brewer, I swear, you cannot make this stuff up.
I wonder what he was shooting at and I'm glad no one was injured or killed.

First, he has enough money to last some time. Many months, maybe even years. Second he prepared, by watching survival shows. His money could last even longer in survival mode. Camping is cheap. He could be hunting or fishing. Getting some types of jobs under an alias is not that hard. Millions of undocumented workers do it. Chances of him being recognized is not that great. As some have pointed out, even without a disguise, he looks like a million other middle aged white men. Third I think he has way better options than standing in front of Walmart with a sign.

The fact that TC requires blood pressure medicine is an interesting twist. Someone on the last thread suggested that he might take herbal supplements or natural remedies if he can't get his blood pressure script. I grow my own herbs and make herbal medicines. Some are quite effective, but they are not the equivalent of prescription drugs. When it comes to conditions like high blood pressure, heart conditions, diabetes, and things of that nature, herbal medicines are not an effective substitute. You'll read blogs on the internet that will tell you otherwise, but they are dead wrong. I know this not just from reading actual scientific studies, but from first hand experimentation. So, if his plan is to try herbal supplements or other natural remedies, and he has the means to check his blood pressure regularly, he's going to find out very quickly how important that prescription medicine truly is. For what it's worth, my husband gets his BP meds in 90 day supplies, so it's possible TC could go a few months without having to figure out how to get over this hurdle.

Thanks for info. And a 50 year old has a high probability developing other health issues.

He preparing by watching survivalist shows. That would be a pretty good indication that he planned to live off the grid.

It's also a pretty good indication that he's going to run into trouble that he won't know how to handle. Watching shows or reading books about survival techniques is all well and good, but it is NOT the equivalent of hands on experience. Not by a long shot. The fact that he researched water filtering devices tells me his experience in survival techniques is minimal. If he had ever gotten giardia from using one of those things, he'd learn REAL quick that boiling your water is the only 100% effective solution for safe drinking water. And, if he did purchase that water filter, and that's what they are actually using, it won't be long before someone ends up in the ER. His lack of real experience is what will trip him up...assuming he's really trying to go off grid. But, I suspect that's not the case. My feeling is that they are "camping" rather than attempting any real wilderness survival.

Again, JMO.

True. And if he is currently taking BP medications, those can make you more vulnerable to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. My husband is very fit, young, and accustomed to physical labor, but he still takes a lot of precautions when working outside in the heat (in part, due to his BP and BP meds). TC doesn't appear to be especially fit to me. If he's performing physical tasks he's not accustomed to in the heat, and he's on BP meds, that alone could be bad news.

I don't think we know how high his BP is. Today they'll prescribe meds for a BP that five or ten years ago they wouldn't have. If his BP is actually high, it's likely to be a problem, but if it's borderline, then just losing weight and cutting down on salt might be sufficient.

I agree it depends on the seriousness. My grandpa was prescribed blood pressure meds many times but ignored it and just took a baby aspirin a day. He lived to be just a few months short of 90.

Being on the run from LE cannot be good for your blood pressure.

IIRC, you were the poster who wrote about what you would bring if you were going to camp out for an extended period of time. I'm not ruling out camping entirely, but now that we've heard from his wife that he wasn't a regular camper, I'm leaning more toward the possibility that he could be closer to a town, or at least in a nicer cabin with hot, running water.

Someone mentioned camping at the Walmarts a while back, and I checked out my Walmart this weekend. There were two RVs parked in the side-back parking lot. Both looked like they'd seen better days. But it makes sense because they are open 24 hours and have bathrooms.

BBM first that was detail was stated, thanks.
IMO the survival was just the first few days to avoid detection, not a long term (now month) plan. Somebody must be helping. knowingly or not.

Ok so I'm still new to all of this stuff (WS). If you don't mind me asking what does BBM stand for? I've figured out most of the abbreviations, but can NOT figure out what BBM stands for. :blonde moment: 😊

BBM = Bolded by me.

I wonder if either TC or ET can cook? If not, they'll be eating out, or making a lot of gluten-free sandwiches or lettuce wraps. Maybe he can grill.

Could TC have parked the Nissan Rogue in a long-term lot or garage of an airport in order to hide the vehicle for as long as possible? Unlike public garages, your vehicle can sit there for at least a month without suspicion plus you don't pay until you leave. Surveillance cameras would have picked up when he entered the parking facility but as we know from the OKC Wal-Mart visit, surveillance footage is usually not reviewed unless there is reason to do so. Security guards patrol these lots but if the vehicle were backed in, is the security guard really going to get out of his car and inspect the plates of every Rogue in the lot? Plus, if it's in a non Amber Alert state, parking lot security staff may not even be aware that they need to look for the Nissan in the first place.

In this scenario, the Nissan would of course eventually be discovered but by the time that happens a month or more would have passed. This method of disposal seems more plausible to me than ditching in a lake or chopshop route. No ideas yet on what mode of transportation was used after ditching the Rogue as I'm still trying to work this one out...

^^ I think the rogue was used as a trade for a car which would blend in, complete with legal license plates.
Something like an old police cruiser ( Crown vic) with low miles. To a chop shop the Rogue would easily be worth such a car plus some cash.

nearby city recently auctioned off their fleet thru sealed bids. I know a person who scored 2 police cruisers, all white, with less than 100k miles for 200.00. For both of them.

That's possible, and falls into the "he had help" theory. Where I get stuck with this theory is, you have to register a car in your name, and that would be easily searchable by LE. If he doesn't register it, then it would remain registered under the previous owner, and that could be :notgood: for that person. But, if you're concerned with hiding rather than being street legal, it's an option. The other thing is, was the Rogue paid off? It's a 2015, and I don't think the Cummins' were swimming in money. They may have financed it, in which case, it's not his to sell, so the transaction would have to be with the shady chop shop. So... maybe the mythical person who was going to help them stashed the Rogue and let him borrow a car? That could also be :notgood: for that person.

Good info. Thanks. Now I suppose someone is going to theorize that Tad and Elizabeth are cop impersonators shaking down unsuspecting motorists. :)
