Using his real name and ID at the hotels is not how he got caught. He didn't use his real name at the California cabin and he did get caught.

Were they seen and not caught because they were on the move?
Where did they stay in Colorado, Utah, and Nevada, and who knows where else? Oregon? Idaho? Maybe Kansas?

I am thinking they were traveling most of that time. There was absolutely no reason for them to go to Guymon OK - they had to just be wondering through. In Guymon is HWY 54 is there, which leads to Texas, and then little jog to I-40 again.

I think they would take the 'round about' way to the next stop, then spend the night for a time or two, then move along.With then having stolen Co. plates, I wonder if they didn't spend the night there. Darkness would be a great cover to steal plates.

I'm in CA this case was on the news almost on a daily basis. I'm always looking for out of state plates for fun. I can't believe they drove across all those states and were never caught in the Rogue. That just blows me away.

Me too. I am on the Central Coast and I drive up to the Bay Area once or twice a week. I have been looking for that Rogue every day and night even though I didn't think they'd come here. And they did. Another lesson. Look for missing people even if you don't think they are where you are.

Yes, she was convicted for the check fraud.

The Sheriff said they stayed in Berkeley, CA, not sure how long they were there though. Somebody posted that that's where he came up with the idea of going to BBR near where they were caught.

Looking at the map of where Guymon, OK is, it is way off course coming from OKC to get to California. Seems like maybe they took some back roads. IMO
