Employees at the Shoney's in Columbia said Thomas was waiting with her bags inside the restaurant on March 13. They said when Tad Cummins pulled up, the teen ran outside leaving her back pack behind.

"We believe for one reason or another she left one of these bags behind and it disappeared later that day," said DA Brent Cooper.

Cooper said someone either took the bag or Elizabeth may have come back for it.

Whether she intended to or not, if they did have to go back for it, it could explain why it took them such a long time to get to Decatur.

I am thinking this as well. I bet they got down the road a bit then realized she left it. So they may have turned around and came back and got it.

Authorities believe Thomas and Cummins may have stayed in the Decatur area.
I live between Decatur and Guntersville. I think the area around Guntersville Lake wouldn't be a bad place for them to camp/hide out. Small communitie and everyone keeps to themselves.

Jeanna, only because I have lived through something similar that Elizabeth is going through, I have to disagree. My family was and still is very dysfunctional. My family's actions definitely led me to get involved with a 30-something year old when I was only 15. His actions still 20 years later cause me anger and resentment. I feel as though my parents acts were unintentional. They were "asleep at the wheel" with raising all of us. The guy I got involved with very much knew what he was doing and took advantage of my situation. My mom and I still aren't really close, but I can work on that relationship. I probably won't get over that guy using me for a very long time, if ever. I have moved on, but I do wonder what kind of person I would have been had he not stolen my innocence.

I don't know what you'd be like if that guy didn't use you, but I see you are a compassionate, empathetic, and wise person now.

Thrill of the risk.

Or because TC thinks he found a way to out smart everyone else. But, like I mentioned in an earlier post, despite all TC thinks he knows he can't even begin to know all the tactics LE has available to them AND TC has a huge disadvantage in his obvious arrogance of thinking he's smarter than everyone else.

I still don't understand why her IG says Class of 2019. If she's a Freshman, it would be 2020. Small detail, but it bugs me [emoji52]

Could be she was class of 19 when she was in homeschool and she feels like that's the class she belongs in

Yeah, I thought it was her but now I am not so sure.

Sounds like this gal can relate to Elizabeth!

This is new:

"The latest tip came from Decatur, Alabama where police say Thomas’ cell phone pinged off a cell tower.
Police say Thomas and Cummins may have stopped at a motel there.
The Morgan County Sheriff’s department told News 2 they received tips that Cummins was looking for work in the area."

If he was looking for work it sounds like they may still be in the area
