IMO ET went under psychological duress. Not physical. Which really makes no difference to me. She is now in a position where he controls her every living moment. What and when she eats etc. etc. I pray she is doing ok under these circumstances which are nothing short of captivity for his sick mind. She needs to be found now as every minute, hour, day he has her is going to be tougher for her to overcome. Praying and hoping for a good outcome.

Thousands of grown women are victims of narcissists like TC every year...they're good at what they do and can manipulate anyone. A 15-year-old girl never had a chance.
Exactly. So many adults with much more real life experience fall victim to abusers like TC. The gaslighting is what they do and they are good at it. They can make people doubt what they see with their very own eyes. They are also pretty good at picking out people they can manipulate like that. Very few adults, much less children, recognize it when it is happening to them.

You really don't understand the safety issue at the house. The mother kept breaking the restraining order. We were struggling to get anything done because it was so frequent. The cops were actually getting irritated about how often it was going on. So yes her losing a key could have possibly put her in danger in her own home.

Yes I'm sorry I do not mean that and this must be a revelation to all. That must be horrible and your family and Dad under tremendous pressure to maintain any good home for her and siblings. So TC and mom were constant? That must be awefull

Could be. I'm thinking back to the movie
"Fast Times at Ridgemont High"
and the "Valley Girl" talk.
Like, oh my gawd, fer sure, fer sure.

I have seen the predator referred to as the "Tadmeister" several times in comments made on Instagram and was wondering who says that!?
MOO

Oh yeah!! Got ya'! I do remember.

I heartedly wish a safe return, the sooner the better, for your sister. I have a fleeting feeling that your statements at websites appear to be recycled by some news media. Then, people repost what they read from news media to websites. It is like a snake eating its tail. That could be good sometimes and bad at other times.

Perhaps, you are discussing with your lawyers what is good to say and what should be saved for later. People’s motivations are not always selfless. You want to avoid that what is said today may hurt your precious sister tomorrow. Good luck!

Can we stop with the insinuations about the motivations of websleuths members? It is super offensive. I'm sure this family has actual legal representation and advice from attorneys and investigators that is protecting them and ET.

Does TC like to drink? Or is he a "straight and sober" kind of man? Random but just curious

Good question!

One of my biggest fears is that this is going to turn into a cold case, since there has been absolutely no credible sightings or leads to them.:(

You know I've never heard of one of these types of cases going cold.

Yet when I was a kid there was a popular ABBA song "When I Kissed the Teacher". Cummins would know it unless he lived under a rock.

Don't forget “To Sir, With Love” by Lulu, “Teacher I Need You” by Elton John, “Teacher, Teacher” by Rockpile, “Hot For Teacher” by Van Halen, “Teacher’s Pet” by Venom, “Don’t Stand So Close To Me” by The Police, “The Art Teacher” by Rufus Wainwright, and “Teach Me Tonight” by Amy Winehouse, to name just a few.

Wow--So with him being a popular teacher and his wife being on the school board, the students sided with TC. I can understand the kids view, but the staff should have known better after the kiss was reported. At least investigate it properly before coming to judgement. A lot I have read about this town doesn't add up to me. Teachers and the scholl board members are supposed to be professionals and it appears the adults acted like teenagers themselves.

Allegedly....

i'm so sorry and at a loss for words regarding this situation. and as others have stated, thank you so much for being here.

this furthers my point about how LE and the school handled the situation...gingerly and with time to process.

as her sister, what about her belongings when she disappeared...why did she have to "borrow" another's bathing suit? any answer or none is acceptable. thank you again...

Disagree that it it is victim blaming. She apparently was a victim all her life, and with this creep may be for the rest of her life.
That's sad
The events leading to the decision to leave at the house, in car, at the restaurant, are governed by law that she can;t voluntarily do that. But she did do it.
With no parental supervision. It is important to understand what she was doing, if not legal, but that is the context she was operating under.
That was her decision environment, right or wrong.
I dont think anyone thinks the teen is perfect, if that's what you mean. But the focus is on the male because he committed a highly, as well as, dangerous crime.

Cummins is 50 years old
Cummins married his wife in 1985
Cummins told students he was a millionaire and a CIA operative that traveled on secret missions
On January 23 a female schoolmate saw TC kiss ET on the lips in the classroom with TC's grandchild in the room
January 24th the female student confronted TC about the kiss. TC told the student he was a father figure to ET and she was a "close and best friend".
January 30th school concluded investigation, found no evidence since both ET and TC denied the kiss but ET was removed from class.
January 31 ET's father found out about kiss from Sheriff who was investigating the issue.
February 3 TC is reprimanded for having ET in his room. Another teacher said she was in the classroom for over 30mins.
"The teacher would later be reprimanded on Feb. 3 by school principal Penny Love after the girl was seen in Cummins classroom for a little more than half an hour that day. In her letter, Love said the girl being in his classroom was a violation of the principal’s order to him."

ET's phone pinged in Decatur AL March 13 at 3:06pm "A spokesperson for the Decatur, Alabama, police told ABC News by phone that Elizabeth had not been physically seen in or around Decatur and that reports of their whereabouts may have been attributed to a ping from the girl’s cell phone."
http://krvn.com/abc_national/timeli...essee-student-elizabeth-thomas-abcid35882433/

ET was originally reported as a runaway, although her father early on maintained she had been abducted by TC
TC's wife reported him missing.

LE concluded 24 hours after both reported missing that TC and ET were together, so they had a 24 headstart before the Amber Alert was issued. "Thomas, a 15-year-old from Middle Tennessee, disappeared with her ex-teacher, 50-year-old Tad Cummins, on March 13. There have been no confirmed sightings since that day and an Amber Alert was issued the next day"
http://www.9news.com/news/crime/statewide-endangered-child-alert-issued-for-missing-teen/423257704

Amber Alert has not been issued nationwide.

LE believe they may be in Mexico or Central America posing as missionaries

TC took a loan for 4,500. "TBI said Cummins secured a title loan for a personal vehicle and other personal effects several days before his disappearance, netting $4,500 in cash."

TC has an associates degree, was a respiratory therapist, taught forensics, had an alternative certification to teach

TC's former colleague states TC was a bully and narcissist

TC's former colleague is offering a 5,000 reward

LE is offering a 1,000 reward

There have been no credible sightings of TC or ET since March 13

ET left a bag behind at Shoney's, but it was later gone. The story goes that it was left outside and picked up by someone.
Shoney's had no working surveillance camera (per Sister) and ""We believe for one reason or another she left one of these bags behind and it disappeared later that day," said DA Brent Cooper.Cooper said someone either took the bag or Elizabeth may have come back for it" http://whnt.com/2017/03/24/da-elizab...dissapearance/

ET has wheat and tomato allergies and needs an epi pen.(per Sister)

ET took her sister's bathing suit with her (per Sister)

ET hid from TC when he tried to see her at work. "One of Thomas family lawyers told WKRN that, at some point before the March 13 disappearance, Cummins came into Elizabeth's work place. The teen hid in a bathroom and urged a co-worker to tell the teacher that she wasn't there." http://patch.com/tennessee/nashville...ns-family-says (this was also confirmed by Sister)

ET had been taken from her mother's custody and her father has custody of her. ET had formerly been homeschooled, was a freshman in high school and had just started public school. TC was her teacher. ET's mother was charged with abuse and lost custody.
ET's mother gave an interview.

I'll be editing this post with sources and such, but is there anything I missed?

Destany Parrish is a former student who TC may have groomed prior to ET, made alone time for the two of them and sang her a love song he'd written. He told us all one day that the office had gotten on to him and that we all had to go back to the lunch room because that's where we're supposed to be anyway," Parrish recalled. "Everybody left and I got my bag and got ready to leave, and he said the office hadn't said anything to him, he just didn't want that many kids in his room. It just ended up being he and I chilling in there. I would go there after school.”
Parrish said she would go to Cummins’ room after school and he would often take her to services at the Destiny Church in Columbia Parrish was 15 at the time, in 2011 she was his student.
http://www.wsmv.com/story/34977042/t...p-with-teacher

"One day, Parrish said Cummins arranged for them to be alone and he sang the lyrics he had written.
One of the lyrics read, "I could swim for a thousand miles in the oceans inside your eyes and never reach the side."
"It was just me and tad. We were in the music room. It was right next to his classroom, and I had learned a new song on the piano," said Parrish. "I was gonna go show him, but he sat down first and played that song, and I started recording a little bit in.
When asked if she felt the song was for her, Parrish said she didn't assume, but looking back, things seem different."

No the school did not do that. ET was with her father for a long time before this happened. The school legally and morally had no right to not inform the father nor were they handling this gingerly for ET.

They also don't get the luxury of handling it gingerly. This child has a parent.

If a teacher was accused of sexual contact with your child and the school decided they had the right to decide if you were informed, how long would it take you to get to an attorney and sue the pants off them and have people fired?

Me? It would take me probably 24 hours because it would take me that long to get an attorney and get out of jail after I beat the living crap out of a school administrator.

The school doesn't get to decide to not tell the parent and law enforcement, the child is not their child, they have no legal custody or guardianship.

As far as gaslighting goes, Tina Swithin's books about recovering from this type of relationship are excellent. They are inexpensive, simple reads. Tina's situation was a bit different, but still useful for understanding gaslighting. I bet if some of the local folks who don't have an understanding of these issues read them, they would start to get it. And I'm not saying that Maury County is somehow different than anywhere else. I didn't get it either until it happened to me.

Lurker..but this school system and community is a hot mess. This is a child missing. Taken against her rational will...unreal!

She answered earlier that ET always borrowed strange pieces of clothing of her sister's when she left, that it was like a security blanket. Usually it was socks.

welcome to the board and yes this town seems to be living in the 1950's IMO

Very true, most people really aren't familiar with it. Many people that have experienced it, if they don't get some help to work through it and recognize things, they can fall victim again.

All abusers gaslight and many times someone that has been abused before will be abused again because they still haven't learned to recognize gaslighting. I'm sure ET's mom was a gaslighter and ET didn't recognize gaslighting, which makes her a target for another abuser.
