Tad Cummins is being moved by U.S. Marshals in one of their prisoner transport aircrafts often known as "Con Air." The flight isn't just for Cummins. Officials said the aircraft will pick up and drop off inmates in various cities across the country. It's possible it could be a day or even a few weeks before Cummins is returned to Tennessee. His current whereabouts were unknown, but Cummins is no longer in federal detention in Sacramento.

Cummins’ defense lawyer, Ben Galloway, said that the suspect left on Tuesday evening. He’s being transported by the U.S. Marshals Service, which generally means they are transported via local jails and private facilities to the Oklahoma City transfer station, and from there, transported to their final stop.
“I can confirm that he left at about 7:30 on Tuesday evening. I don’t have details about his travel — that information is generally not disclosed,” said Galloway.

From the girl who needs showers and bathrooms and makeup to this. :tears:

Not to diminish, but b/c I like accuracy in journalism...saying she 'appeared' that way is not necessarily saying she *didn't* have a shower or bath--and my guess is that a girl who liked her showers likely had them the couple times they stayed in motels.

The above article said "Whatley also says the teen appeared to not have bathed the entire time she was gone."

Just wow.

Maybe he was speaking in a broad way about her rough appearance.

The folks at the commune said she showered with her shorts on, I thought. Does anyone else remember that?

Yes, it was in the long Daily Mail article.

Here is the quote in context:

During their 38 days on the lam, Elizabeth at times ate wildflowers to survive, according to Elizabeth’s family attorney, Jason Whatley. Whatley also says the teen appeared to not have bathed the entire time she was gone.

What cannot be ignored is that Whatley is the family's attorney. IMO, he is doing the best he knows how to counter some damaging media reporting that came out right after she was found (eg. Interviews with commune people).

For one, he disconnected the GPS tracking.

Ah see I was thinking altered as in physical appearance. I new about the GPS so yeah I guess that could be the only thing other than plates that was altered.

The commune is also trying to counter that sensationalist DM article, and thinking that maybe they need to pay attention to what is going on in the world.

Hmm...I didn't get the sense that they were backing down from what they said; only that they think it wise to get internet so as to discourage any more ppl on the run from seeking them out (due to increased notoriety now that they are part of a national case). They mentioned that they been visited by people on the lam before; this is likely the straw that broke the camel's back.

Surprising that so many parties are talking about the case on record--before it goes to trial. It's everyone involved (except ET), it appears.

Also surprising is this approach by Whatley, the family's atty:

Tad’s wife Jill believed that she and Tad were helping Elizabeth deal with the alleged abuse she faced at home and saw Tad and Elizabeth’s connection as a father-daughter relationship. In late January, a middle school student claimed to have seen Tad and Elizabeth kissing in his classroom. After Tad was mandated by the school to stay away from Elizabeth, he was suspended when he violated the order. According to the Thomas family attorney, Tad convinced Elizabeth that her future was ruined and that her only option was to leave and start a new life with him.

I'll admit that I am very curious about where they were between March 17 and April 6 - where they stayed, which routes they took to CA. And I'm very curious as to how TC managed to run through $4500 or so in 5 weeks, when we know that the last two weeks they were staying at the commune for $3 per day and the little cabin for free. But this 20/20 show is unlikely to provide any new information for those of us who've been following the case, IMHO.

:cow:

I agree, I'm very curious about the 4500 especially since it looks like ET lost weight and the reports that Tad Cummins was begging for gas money and they were eating flowers. There is so much that is unexplained.

Eh, I think he's a sensationalist. Granted, there was no running water or electricity in the cabin, but prior to that they were in places with running water (commune, motels).

Agree. Trying stake out a position. Still good he is defending he is a great guy
