If true.. the only reason I can come up with that LE wouldn't share it is it might tip off the fact that they might be investigating outside the box. But I don't see them using up such manhours and volunteers in such rough terrain and freezing weather conditions if they don't see the need. They said in the news briefing earlier this evening that they still believe he is in that area. <modsnip> I don't disregard anything. The fact is he is missing without a trace. He is somewhere.

I want you people to know that you're amazing. I don't know how you do this case after case after case. It warms my heart that there are so many people looking over these cases genuinely caring for these people and coming together to help any way you can. This is the first that has really just hooked me, I'm extremely emotionally invested in finding this boy, if it doesn't have a happy ending I think I'll just have to take a break from the Internet for a while.
We've all had to do that at times. Certain cases just grab you. And it's ok.

Good point. I was thinking a lot about how accustomed coyotes have become to humans earlier today (at least here, in Myrtle Beach, they have). In fact, a coyote managed to sneak into our local airport thru the baggage claim area just a week or two ago and had some fun darting back and forth through the security area before he was tased and picked up by animal control. A lot of our local wildlife seems to be a lot less skiddish around humans these days. Deer wander into backyards, some type of pumas (panthers, or cougars, or fill in the blank) were forced out of the woods by a huge brushfire a few years back and wound up roaming around nearby residential neighborhoods---despite DNR's previous claims that they no longer live around here---and I spotted a raccoon just hanging out on my balcony last winter (I freaked outttt because I thought it was my roommate's cat at first & I nearly opened the door to let "her" back in the house!)

And, I never expected black bears to live around here, but there are at least 2 or 3 black bears that wildlife preservationists know of that live in the Carolina Forest area.

I don't know how anyone (wildlife specialists or otherwise) can claim with 100% certainty that a specific species of animal doesn't exist somewhere or pass thru there, unless the climate is such that it's not possible. Even scientists have deemed certain animals extinct after X number of years have passed with no sightings, but then one is seen years later and they're proven wrong.

It's scary for me to consider what animals might be lurking out in the woods. I can't imagine how scared a 2 year old would be out there at night all by himself. [emoji22]

Not assuming anything about this family at all - but just as a general comment - as a Christian myself I will agree with this statement. TONS of people claim Christianity as their faith (oh hi Donald Trump, how are you?) and wouldn't know the first thing about genuine Christian doctrine/theology/living if it jumped up and bit them in the booty. Sometimes I wish it would. Repeatedly.

But, as my friend in Nashville once pointed out, EVERYONE in the south is a Christian, even if they're not. Meaning, most (or many) claim it, because it's sort of tradition/expected. And yes, for those of us who are genuine Christians, it's kind of a pet peeve of ours as well. It's misleading at best, and intentionally deceitful and disingenuous at the worst.

moo.

Early on there were quotes circulating from a woman who said Noah's mom was her child's Bible class teacher at one time and had taught her child the first memory verses he / she learned. There was also a link to a blog post by an author that's a friend of the grandmothers in which the grandmother's spiritual impact on the author was described. And I believe the photo circulating of the four of them (parents and two children) shows the dad in a t-shirt with a Christian bikers design on the front.

In other words, it sounds like their faith was active and not just cultural.

Those are very good questions SouthernHome. It's very odd that it has not been mentioned during all the information out there. How smart he is for a 2 year old would be very important! I wonder why they haven't even discussed that in the news or in the briefings? Or even in the posts from people who say they know the family? Very very good questions!

Also, I did watch NG tonight. I noticed that she was not as harsh and negative as she usually is. She was more understanding. But I also noticed she mentioned several times the Tn mountains and bears. Obviously she knows nothing about Tn. Pinson is by no means in the mountains and I have NEVER heard of bears being anywhere near there. Other animals.. sure.

I didn't watch but can't say I'm surprised that NG was talking about things she knows nothing about

Once again reading between the lines, I see that the sheriff stated there's a storm shelter on the property that was built two years ago, but what he does NOT say is that there is no fresh concrete on the property.

So he won't verify the exact location from which the child went missing, leading me to believe they don't know for certain he was ever in the woods, and they don't deny there's fresh concrete - just deflect and say there's a 2 year old storm shelter.

Personally, I think Noah is probably in a sinkhole, and he may never be found.

However, I have to wonder what the likelihood is that he was not alone in those woods. I was recently on a search for a suicidal subject and we found him deep in the forest, in a collection of shelters. It was evident that people were living there, at least part time. It was so far into the forest that even the locals had no real idea it was there. Most were made of branches propped up against trees, with plastic tarps over them. We also run into, with a fair amount of frequency, meth labs set up in abandoned cabins and small houses and other shelters, deep in the woods. Granted this is upstate New York and I don't know what the issues in TN are, but it's not at all uncommon for us to run into evidence of unsavory types in the forests here.

There's a screenshot on the Help Find Noah page of a recent post made by his mother. . .

The sheriff also would only say he went missing not far into the woods from the house. When a reporter tried to pin him down about how many yards from the house he said they wouldn't go into that because people would love to get on google earth and make maps and put it in there and that just creates issues. They also wouldn't allow press back in there because that just creates more issues. They'd have psychics and everybody else describing the area and they'd know the person is always close to water and by a big tree. Odd answers. And they wouldn't go into anything about the scents either. He also said they were pretty well sure he is in that area that's why they keep searching it.

Those issues are also quite possible in Tn.

Oh, Noah went missing on Grand ma's watch? I'm sorry I keep asking questions. As I stated earlier, I'm under the weather and have not kept up with this. :(

Yes.. Noah, his sister, and grandma went for a walk behind the house in the woods. She said the little girl had her attention for a minute and she looked around and he was gone.

I have no clue as to what happened with this beautiful little boy, and the family is living through a nightmare noone should have to live. I try not to picture what has happened to Noah. However, we're not to spread rumors even if it's in round about way conveying rumor posted from SM. I've watched rumor evolve into fact, if a child had been lost before, and found dead the media would've jumped all over it at the beginning. The family is victim, unless LE says otherwise, and as of yet there's been no criminal charges.

The motorcycle group Soldiers for Jesus are not a cult, and are actually Christians that ride motorcycles together, many of them vets from all across the country doing good things. They're not dangerous, and somehow people have gotten the idea they're a group of Son of Anarchy riders that have a club, riding around all day selling drugs. SMH They get together at different times for events throughout the year, they help others, like veterans, and children at Christmas, etc. I know some who ride to DC together in an event for veterans once a year, many of them come from all over the country.

The father, Jacob, drives a truck for a company in Jackson, Tennessee. He was in Canton, Mississippi when he got the news of Noah's disappearance. The children were being watched by their grandmother as Destiny went to the store last Thursday. He wasn't off living in Indiana, the grandparents don't have custody, so thankfully some of the rumor is being dispelled. http://wreg.com/2016/01/19/details-surface-about-family-of-noah-chamberlin/

Nancy said they have bears too!

I know we aren't suppose to copy from sm, but we all need a break from the stress of this situation.

Have any pictures of Noah celebrating Christmas? Opening gifts, etc? Christmas is a magical time for a 2 year old. I would love to see some of those pics.

OT/ Feel better soon! (Keep asking questions and we will keep answering them for you!)
