SHELBYVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A never-before-heard recording in the case of a man suspected in his wife's disappearance could shed new light on the case.

The person who called was Tyler Mook. After the accidental phone call, he dialed again, apparently talking to his father.

During the conversation, 911 kept rolling as he talked about wanting to leave the state and possibly being arrested.

"But like I told Mom, they think... they know I want to stay in the United States. They can find me," Tyler Mook said. "I can live out in (inaudible). If they want to come arrest me with a warrant, all they got to do is come arrest me."

Next, Tyler Mook said Shelley Mook's burned out car was found the morning after she disappeared. It's unclear what car Tyler Mook was talking about in the 911 recordings.

Tyler Mook also talked about what an arson charge could mean in his custody case for his daughter.

"Something keeps bothering me about that car. Something keeps bothering me about that," Tyler Mook said. "It's just come to the fact that (my daughter) is going to be coming back to me and they're going to try to bust me with that. And right when they're in the (inaudible), come arrest me and say, 'Hey, we can't give (your daughter) back. No, we've got to take you in custody right now for arson.'"

Yesterday would have been Shelley's 29th birthday. So sad for her family as they continue to mark each passing celebration without her. She deserved to live.

:rose: Shelley :rose:

Tyler Mook's attempted murder trial (not Shelley) begins this week. I can't find anything in the media.

:rose: Thinking about Shelley, her mom, and her babies today. :rose:

Investigators named her estranged husband, Tyler Mook, as their top person of interest.

“We’ve gotten very little cooperation from him and from his family,” said Kevin Keele, a private investigator.

Tyler Mook has now been sentenced to 12 years in jail for a different crime.

Shelley Mook’s mother was in Florida on Thursday to testify during Tyler Mook’s sentencing hearing. She was reportedly happy about the 12-year sentence because Tyler and Shelley Mook’s daughter will be 18 years old by the time he gets out.

I hope that someone somewhere provides a detail before 12 years is up about where Shelley can be found. I would love for his sentence to be life.

[h=1]Bedford County missing person case to be featured Saturday on 48 Hours[/h]
The 2011 Bedford County, Tenn., missing person's case involving a 24-year-old Shelbyville mother and middle school teacher will be featured tonight on CBS's "48 Hours."

Network officials say their investigation probes the "strained relationships and allegations of cheating" in a case that has left family members with no answers and an ex-husband, Tyler Mook, who has been considered a person of interest since early on in the investigation.

This popped up on my Google reminders yesterday. My thoughts are with Shelley's family, I hope Tyler can be convicted one day.

Six Years Later Shelley Mook Still Missing

http://www.wgnsradio.com/six-years-later-shelley-mook-still-missing-cms-38120

This week marks six years since a Bedford County teacher disappeared.

Shelley Mook was last seen on February 28, 2011 after dropping off her young daughter at her estranged husband's Shelbyville home.

Mook's estranged husband has been the only person of interest in the case, but he has never been charged in her disappearance. Several searches over the years have turned up nothing.

Shelly's case is on todays Crime watch daily.

Was hoping someone else saw this. I had recorded it and just finished watching. Twelve years for second degree attempted murder for the attack of a former Florida girlfriend. Now he needs to pay for Shelley's death.

Saw a rerun of the 48 hours for the first time this evening. I had not heard or read about this case but knew I would find a thread here on WS. I did a search for his inmate record. Link: http://www.dc.state.fl.us/offenderSearch/detail.aspx?Page=Detail&DCNumber=K90349&TypeSearch=AI

Doing some math....it appears that he was incarcerated of 6/2/2016. He has current release date of 4/29/2026. He must have gotten two years shaved off for good behavior....hard to believe with someone with described temper. Or perhaps credit for time served?

I hope that Shelley is found before he gets released so that Lilli doesn't have to deal with him being a free man.

I saw the same 48 Hrs. re-run that you did.

I hope that the prosecutor charges him with murder regardless of whether Shelley is found.

I saw this last night also. I had never heard abt this case either.

But, I'm thrilled with the karma part of all this...in that he was stupid enough (without realizing it!) that he butt dialed 911, and blew his own cover!!

Shelbyville Missing
In an average year, two or three persons go missing in our state. That two are missing within four months of each other, three overall - and in a town the size of Shelbyville -- it becomes a statistical anomaly. This series of articles details the investigation and the frustration of the families with unanswered questions. Antonio Taylor, then 21, has been missing since Sept. 20, 1999. Bobby Smelcer, then 52, went missing Nov. 21, 2010. Shelley Mook, then 24, was last seen Feb. 28.bbm
