Exactly! Why in the world they announced the rape arrest, and then specified the details in that affidavit, just blows my mind. IMO that entire 'expose' really should have been handled with utmost care. Not like this.

Note: JC losing her parents, in the manner JP detailed, was heart stopping in its violence. Those details were horrible to read. JC lived them, and survived. I'm confident SLP will be able to reclaim her life as well. At least I really do hope so!

Would the developments in this case prompt LE to determine the truth/validity of the adoption claims? Could they get the documentation unsealed?

She is not a victim. In no court of law would she have nay victim's rights of any kind. If her daughter had been murdered, that would be different.

I can't blame her at this point. Indeed she could've been totally oblivious. But I'm skeptical about her, sick of parents allowing monsters to have access to their kids and I'm hoping the child is kept out of her custody until everything about her and what was happening in that house is known.

I recall the case of the singing Christian mega-family whose dad was arrested for rape after one of the older daughters talked to police. The Willis Clan. Well, mom came out and denounced him and said she was all about protecting her kids and supporting them.

Turns out they had made allegations against him, directly to her, for YEARS. He had been raping all his daughters. She knew or should have known and I think she deserves jail time for not protecting her kids.

Please don't misunderstand me. If, as in the example you reference, this mother was told at any time, she does deserve jail time, significant jail time. But if she didn't, I do see her as a victim who was manipulated and betrayed in the worst way a mother can be.

Scenario Two, and IMO very possibly how she escaped, SLP hid away in RP's truck. He traveled to that rest area, she jumped out, and met up with whoever took her to WI.

Feasible? Or too many CSI type shows being consumed?

(4) The defendant had, at the time of the offense, parental or custodial authority over the victim and used the authority to accomplish the sexual penetration.

(b) Statutory rape by an authority figure is a Class C felony and no person who is found guilty of or pleads guilty to the offense shall be eligible for probation pursuant to § 40-35-303 or judicial diversion pursuant to § 40-35-313.

Again, what do we know for a fact about the mother?

She may have 3 very supportive sibs at home and therapeutic bonds with her pets. No matter what is thought of the mother, all of the children are innocents. I hope they have the opportunity to continue to be a part of one another's lives.
