Per the interview while discussing the red truck @4:48 DW was asked and he clarified it was the morning of the 15th. I understand what your saying about J but it still sticks in my head. I am just looking at occurrences that stand out of the norn if there is such a thing in this case.
Video found
Wipe out? What am I missing? If you watch the video in post #44 DW states at around the same time stamp that LE was getting papers from the red truck driver. I had a hard time hearing that part but I assumed LE was doing what any other would do; license, registration, etc which would have given them the name of the person if he ran the info. The confusion between the 2 trucks is driving me crazy and I am trying to figure out which one it was that they were seeking info on. Couldn't be the red truck if LE did do diligence but you are totally right...INSANEo_O
He stated there's a lot of meth traffic, and it's a big problem yet he was helping them out, and then the police showed up. Because somebody else called them. It's just baffling. I don't think it's the truck they are looking for,as I seriously doubt that wreck was driveable after that insanity. I would like to see the police reports for that though. MOO

I'm sure someone local could submit an Open Records request, if there was even an incident filed at the time. Or one could go back and look at arrest reports from those several days, in the event there was one. I guess I'm in the minority in thinking that local LE would not have bothered themselves too much with this 'incident' at the time? But if they did, and there is a record of it, it is likely now part of Summer's active investigation and the info would not be available to the public. Moo, though.

Fwiw, I do NOT think the two red trucks are connected. Why would LE continue to ask for any info concerning the truck with the ladder rack seen if they knew the owner/driver/truck/all of the above? Maybe I am misunderstanding the confusion?

I spent last night reading reports about the trucks from the 1st week. I believe, but could be wrong, there is only one truck. My reason is because shortly after LE sought info on a truck they came out and said there was to much misinformation being circulated about it. I can't find anything from LE about a second truck. I see 2 things, LE request for info on one truck and DW speaking about the red truck being there the morning of the fifteenth. I'm not about wanting to be right because it is useless in a case if its wrong. If I am wrong I hope someone corrects me with reliable fact. It's the only way to get to the truth.

I'm guessing it' isn't going to be available to public as it would be part of the on going investigation.

Anyone from the LE field knows the policy and procedure for giving media info. Theres actually a book on it and those decisions go almost go through a flow chart. Info is only released for a few different reasons and those are to aid in the investigation. Every case is different. I say this because it can be a very good sign that little info has been given. Sometimes, not always, LE begins spewing info which can be a sign they have nothing else to go on and thats when they need the publics help. I am hoping that doesn't happen. JMO

More info on red truck from approved video "interview with DD" Unmasked. @12:20. Parents of SW told DD that a red truck was found in another county. Plates were removed. LE ran VIN # and found truck belonged to a neighbor of the Well's. DW said LE would look into it further.

I think it's important to keep perspective when looking at the numbers of children found. Only five were potential human trafficking victims and one a kidnap victim. So many are runaways, parental abduction, etc. Still very important but different category in reference to abduction.

"AST TENNESSEE: January 4th – 15th
  • Authorities identified 86 missing children, of which 56 were recovered, five of them in other states.
  • Of the 56 children recovered, authorities located 27 of them in the weeks leading up to the operation, and three after it concluded.
  • Law enforcement identified three of the recovered juveniles as potential human trafficking victims, resulting in a still-active TBI investigation."
"MIDDLE TENNESSEE: January 25th – February 5th
  • Of the 42 children recovered, authorities located 29 of them in the weeks leading up to the operation, and 13 during the operation.
  • Law enforcement identified one child as a potential human trafficking victim, resulting in a still-active TBI investigation."
"WEST TENNESSEE: February 8th – 12th & February 22nd – 26th
  • Authorities identified 82 missing children, of which 52 were recovered, three of them in other states.
  • Of the 52 children recovered, authorities located 33 of them in the weeks leading up to the operation, 18 during the operation, and one after it concluded
  • While searching for missing children, authorities located two adults with outstanding warrants.
  • Law enforcement identified one of the recovered juveniles as a human trafficking victim, resulting in a still-active investigation by a Mississippi local law enforcement agency and FBI.
  • Authorities safely recovered a child during an active kidnapping investigation, resulting in the arrest of the suspect."

Full truth, I would have expected a much higher trafficking number in West Tennessee. Memphis is a major crossroad with arterial interstates in all four directions.

It would have to be on the dispatcher log at the very least. Somebody called it in so, probably Hawkins Co, maybe State, whoever was closer really. We know 911 didn't work very well out there due to seriously lacking equipment and funds (On-going issue.).

Want to add, someone mentioned bears in the area. Those hills are (literally) crawling with black bears. Black bears, while smaller than the bears you think of as scary, are way more likely to attack a human. Think of them as the chihuahua of bear-kind except with probable carnage. Short-bear complex. I'm making jokes, but steer clear of black bears.

Hi, new to this case, but I have been researching it a lot in the last 3 days. Just curious what was Gramma doing? I don't see any interviews with her and not much mention of her on the media clips I watch. Wasn't Gramma looking for her as well?? It is odd she is the common link between Rose and SW......(other than CW)
Has anyone ever thought Gramma was involved in SW disappearance? Being she was in that trailer when SW went missing what exactly was she doing?

Resting an artificial knee she had been at urgent care/hospital with that morning? Holding down the fort at the house while everyone else was looking? MOO

Still would like to know what we are missing from this narrative to make them so sure.o_O

Living on the land...the natural assumption should be the child has hurt herself and is likely trapped somewhere with a broken ankle incapacited or the like.

I would still be turning over every inch of land within 5km radius looking for an accidental demise of Summer.

Why would you make that first bizaar connection if you dont know what happened.

Lifestyle choices is the heart of this crime/predicament...one way or another.

Hoping for answers soon.

moo

Lifestyle choices?

The red truck and the older maroon/red Tacoma pick-up are two different cars, I think.

Yeah, I think so too.

For one thing, if DW thought the Tacoma was the same truck he had seen earlier, we would have heard about it. At length.

eta: I see somebody mentioned DW saying things about other red trucks, and now I'm not sure how many trucks there are :D

I think so too. I don't think it's the truck they're looking for. There's still something about that incident that just does not sit right with me. It's insane. Which is why I would like to see the police reports for it. MOO

I totally agree it doesn't sit right. There's a lot about this case that doesn't sit right.

I think there are three red trucks.

The one in the driveway.
The one in another state with no plates.*
THE red truck LE wants.

*Wasn't it the neighbor's former truck? Unless the neighbor sold/gave it to friends or family, how would the neighbor know anything about it? Maybe I am mistaken and the neighbor still owns it?

I am just saying. I have traded off cars. I don't know what happened to them. (Worries about former cars.)

There aren't just bears.

They (people who keep up with what the bears are doing) warned about the bears a few months before SW went missing. I don't live in bear territory, so i don't remember the specifics. But, usually they don't extra warn about the bears.

There are other animals. We have coyotes now, somehow. There are mountain lions (they say there aren't any since 100 years, i don't believe this).

I think they looked closely for evidence of an animal attack..so, i guess it would have to be an animal that didn't leave evidence.

I did mention animals in a post. Although I didn't know black bears were so dangerous (i know all bears are dangerous, obviously, i mean more dangerous than another bear). Hmmm... I have only observed them from a moving car. They're cute from a distance and when you're moving faster than they possibly can run.

Black bears aren’t more dangerous than other bears. Grizzlies are more aggressive. Black bears usually just want to get away from people, they don’t attack unless provoked or are protecting their young.

There are so many mistruths in this case, we don’t need to spread false info about bears too.

Okay so I know this has probably already been discussed SOMEWHERE, but I've been digging into Don's criminal records for Utah. There is that fugitive from justice charge back in 2001 out of Tennessee in relation to a warrant from Utah. Given that the FBI were involved, does anybody know what the original charges were? I'm assuming it's not good if the FBI is all up in your business.
