The reporting that one friend said she didn't even board the boat is confusing. Why would one of them not know whether she got on the boat? Unless the error is in the reporting/ meaning (of what that one friend actually said/meant.)
*that‘s also my question from the beginning. Why would friend say that?

Her daughter sent her a text message at 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 9, telling her that she arrived in Memphis. The boat left the dock at 11:30 p.m. At some point, Taylor’s co-worker told Debra that her daughter had not gotten on the riverboat, but that was not true.

At 11:39 p.m., according to Debra, Taylor texted her to let her know that she indeed was on the Midnight Booze Cruise hosted by Memphis Riverboats

i want to see that text...trying to text while very drunk is difficult, im wondering if she mixed up or forgot a word in there i.e. said smth like "taylor didnt come" but meant "taylor didnt leave" or "taylor didnt come off with us"

Do we even know that Tamia is the one who sent the text to her mother? It was convenient that her friends had possession of her phone during the whole, “she left it on the table and went to the bathroom on the second floor” part of the evening.

The accounts of that evening are so all over the place, I don’t think we know much of anything, except that she’s missing.

If it weren't for the video and another picture of her on the boat, I would doubt she was even on it. But we now know she was.

Not sure what purpose it would serve for her friends to have control of her phone the whole time and text her Mom - we know she was in partying in Memphis and then later boarded the Island Queen with them. I don't think either of those two things are in dispute?

On the site that I saw the video of TT, it was taken down on the weekend. Is it still up on Facebook? I wonder who took it and if it was taken with her phone. It didn't look like there were any pockets on her outfit. I also think there was an exit sign and also a door with a pull sign (from my memory from sometime last week.) I think she may have been at the stern of the riverboat and that's where the bathrooms may be located, maybe the men's on one side and the women's on the other side.

I didn't see a purse in her outfit description or in the pic of her that night. Do we know what it looks like? If she had a purse, is it missing too?

FWIW, I don't like carrying a purse when I go out. It's too cumbersome. So I'm team "stick it in your bra if you don't have a pocket" in this instance. Even when I do carry a purse, I don't usually put my phone in there -- it's too difficult to get in and out if I want to send a text or take a pic, and I can't hear if it's ringing.

I think maybe it's generational or cultural. I've never once put my phone in my bra and I don't care if it's ringing. I would absolutely leave it with a friend while I went to the bathroom. I think we're all getting distracted by a red herring.

A lot of confusion arises from comparing her mothers statements with those of her companions.

Her mother has no direct knowledge of what happened and only has the reports of others. She has likely harmonized and paraphrased the statements (of unknown reliability) of others. There doesn't actually appear to be a bathroom on the second deck, at least not one usable by a female. I believe her mother is speaking in good faith, but it doesn't appear she has gotten good information from others IMHO.

I suspect that IF she did go to the second deck, she was met by someone who escorted her off the boat at that time (voluntarily or involuntarily). Looking at pictures of the boat, there don't seem to be good hiding places for a body to be stashed. If she fell overboard in the harbor, her body should have been recovered by now.

I am quite surprised by no mention of Tamia's phone by the police. Normally in a missing person's case, the police would state if they had that person's phone in their possession or not, the last place the phone was located at, the last text or phone call made from that phone, etc. But in this case there has been nothing said to the media by the police at all regarding the phone.

Surely by now the police would have some information on when Tamia's phone was last active?

No. Don’t think they’re in dispute. I was just thinking of other cases where the suspect used a victim’s cell phone to try to prove life at a given time.
The phone is bothering me a bit though. Who has it?
Tamia conveniently didn’t have her phone when she disappeared.
The male coworker was conveniently not around when she disappeared.
It was probably an accident and she fell overboard. It’s just strange she wasn’t seen falling by anyone on a packed party boat.

I really hope the Coast Guard has been tracking the currents of the river downstream. If she is (and I believe she is) in the water, she could be miles from there by now or trapped under debris.
This is just my speculation, it is usually the case where young intoxicated people on a boat or near bodies of water end up in it and drowning.
I am sorry but this is the most logical cause of her disappearance and MOO.

Could very well be, but my hunch is she left with (or was lured, taken) by someone on the dock in the shuffle of everyone disembarking, continued birthday celebrations elsewhere and something happened.

I could be wrong. It is just the boat/water factor. Seems every few months someone falls off a Cruise ship or someone bar hopping in a town near a canal or river ends up in it. Reading here long time.
Plus I hate to think there is another predator out there preying on women.
