Jury question for the "expert":

She testified that the reason she finally admitted murdering Travis was that she felt fraudulent blah blah blah. However, IIRC this "expert" testified today that he and Nurmi went to her and told her to come clean...the ninja story was not credible. Which is it?!

ETA: at 34:02 minutes in he speaks to this Jodi Arias Trial - Day 31 - Part 2 - YouTube

Check out how her attorney stops him mid-sentence when he said Nurmi and I went to her and told her the importance of ...

Very interesting Sophie, good catch. I would have to agree with you. She brought him to a halt and then spoke for him in the way that fit their case. Good idea she is up there unlike Nurmi who just lets people rattle off.

Not like it makes Jodi any less guilty but I blame stuff like this on the DT 's laziness. They had years to prepare for this case and not only have they been unprepared in the most ridiculous ways but the people they are slapping onto the stand make my jaw drop.

Also I swear they flipped in the middle of the trial. Going back to the opening statements and the first few days they played big on the knife and it seemed like that would be the way they would be going. It was near by, she was tied up, he cut the rope, all these pieces of "rope" were all over the bathroom. *coughTASSELScough*. That is what I expected to hear her talk about when she took the stand. No, the rope really isn't a big deal Jodi isn't even sure where the darn knife was. The gun however, big deal. Travis owned a gun, the gun was nearby, she saw it many times when cleaning, he talked about the gun with her, took it out with him, she went for it instead of fleeing the house for crying out loud.

I don't know how Flores or Martinez have dealt with it in the last 4 years. :aktion1:

Judge Karen Mills on Dr Drew was wonderful. She tore apart the defense team.

It was during her cross by JM. Maybe the Monday or Tuesday?? of last week.

Thanks! Do you know what day number of the trial that was? Seems like all the YouTube links are listed like "Day 12" or "Day 23," etc. Those numbered days don't make much sense to me.

ITA. It also explains the placement of his arms in those shots. If someone was to stab your chest, I think that's exactly how you'd instinctually protect the wounded area. His eyes are haunting in that picture.

i know right? it's like he's thinking 'why are you doing this to me?'.

if the sitting shower pic was 5:30 what was the time on the picture before that? it would give us a good idea of what was going on between those minutes or seconds. i can't seem to find a site that has them in order with the timestamps shown in every picture. the last one i saw was 5:24, a lot could happen in six minutes.

eta: does anyone think she went with the gun first story because that's what detective flores told her and she didn't know about the M.E. report at the time she conjured up her tale?

Good morning!

There are three photos in the shower sequence that have bothered me. They are at 5:24:48, 5:24:52, 5:24:56. There is clearly a substance that is running down his neck in all three photos that looks a lot like blood. I've missed any discussion regarding this, and I'm wondering what others think about these three photos. I'm thinking that her attack on Travis began even before he got in the shower? If it is blood running down his neck, what is the source? And if it isn't blood, what is it?? The fact that it appears in all three photos indicates to me that something is definitely there.

Does anyone remember the shaggy slipper type thong shoes that were in the middle of the floor in Travis' bedroom? Fragments in blood? Again my apologies, but thought the thread or fiber evidence was answered when those slippers appeared as evidence? Shaggy soled slippers I guess. I've read where others think it was from a pillow from the double chaise, or the fringe on a pillow.

I thought it came from his shaggy insolded slipper/thong shoes. tia

I don't see anything.

This whole premeditated thing was pretty well planned for a first-time amateur, IMO.

PTSD is unbelievable because Jodi has proven what a sport she makes of lying. There is no remorse or survivor guilt I, a layman, would expect from Jodi after brutally murdering someone she claims to love.

It is Jodi's thrill to be so blatant and lie her way out of the obvious. This trial is a learning curve for her. Release Jodi and she will kill again just to prove she can.

Really? It's definitely there. Anyone else see it?? It's running from his earlobe down the side of his neck. It's a single stream of darker fluid.

That is a trail of water, if you follow the line downward you can see the trail continue over his shoulder, where it is more obviously water.

I couldn't stomach watching this so-called 'professional' on the stand yesterday. Can anyone explain to me why the judge would allow excerpts from a Time Magazine article revolving around how the brain works written by someone with a degree in Government? AND...that this 'professional' would somehow base his opinion on an article about how the brain works written by someone with a degree in Government. AND, someone up-thread mentioned the "doctor" (who is not a medical doctor) was referring to an old version of a book (because it was sentimental to him, I think I did see a snippet of him saying something like that?)...I just don't get this.

Allowing the doctor to even put that on the screen is a miscarriage of justice, IMO. I understand the burden of proof lies solely with the State of Arizona but the taxpayers are paying a LOT of money to try to find justice for Travis (not only paying for the prosecution but for the defense as well). Just because Travis is dead doesn't mean he doesn't deserve as much thought from the judge as JA does. Travis, and the people of Arizona, don't get a second chance here. JA will have 20 years worth of appeals.

Furthermore, isn't that what today's hearing is supposed to be about, whether or not he can refer to that article? If that is the case, how is it that he was allowed to display it and speak of it during yesterday's testimony? (I saw this in the first 5 minutes of croakerqueen's Day 31 part 3 video....that's all I could stomach).

<<<<is really irritated ATM.

Bad way to start off a Friday morning...gritting my teeth from irritation! LOL

We must not be seeing the same thing. If it is a trail of water, why is it darker?

Dr Sanja Gupta said this Dr doesn't know what he is talking about re the amnesia lol

The hearing today is to decide whether he can talk about planned vs. unplanned murder vis-a-vis the crime scene.

Jury question for the "expert":

Check out how her attorney stops him mid-sentence when he said Nurmi and I went to her and told her the importance of ...

Snipped by me-

Can you just imagine how that session went?? He repeated that same statement about him and Nurmi later in his testimony too and called that session a real breakthrough.
Yup, it was a breakthrough alright, born of a discussion of all the legal options available. Oh yeah I forgot to tell you I'm also a battered woman. Nurmi is as creepy as his client and her psychologist. The jury noticed I'm sure!!!

It's just the way it is shadowed in that photo. Follow it down all the way. Once it hits his shoulder you will be able to tell that it is water.

I loved loved loved that moment. JM is going to have a field day with that.

after being washed i'd say that the photos are probably darkened so that shadows and water etc look darker. i thought his back was all scratched up at one point but i think that's just artifacts on the pic.

So did Dr Drew lol!! What did Sanjay say? Dr Drew explained that the amnesia he diagnosed JA with is triggered by medications and chemical imbalances, not trauma, having sex or showers that are too hot or cold. He also challenged his whole brain study about memory formation. :floorlaugh:
