One thing that has fascinated that I ENT recall us delving into is that there was this cut off date for the singles ward. I know that 31 is a scary age to be, but it was never explained in the trial as to exactly what the many consequences of that might be. Only in the interrogation tapes did I note that Jodi alluded that TA would essentially be unable to be part of the singles ward. Very interesting to me.

Why can't the DT pay the mother to sit in court everyday? How is she affording hotel rooms and meals? ASAIK that family isn't wealthy.

You know what,whether the DT is paying her to sit in the courtroom everyday or not.Why are they not testifying for her in the guilt or innocent phase???
There has to be a reason!!They want her family to show the jury they care.
Again,do they really???You could not pay me enough to sit if my daughter did what she did to Travis...NOT A CHANCE!!

You know, this is bugging me. I've been to traffic court and it was NO NONSENSE!
No Big Gulp cups, no giggling, no talking, no smirking. No one DARED disrespect the court in such a way. IMHO this judge needs to take control of her courtroom. Attorneys need to SIT UP respectfully in their chairs. NO drinks brought into courtroom. No coloring by defendant. No GIGGLING or talking. No spectators dressing like they are going to the club. Mitigation Specialist not looking like hooker. Attorneys NOT smirking constantly. All of this behavior is remarkably disrespectful to the court and to the victim's family. I am really sick of it.

It's despicable the way the defendant, the DT and their "fans" in that courtroom are allowed to disrespect Travis ...

And it is absolutely more despicable that this "judge" allows it ... "judge" has NO respect for Travis either, IMO !

Don't borderlines have rages too?

As someone who had a year and a half relationship with someone forensically diagnosed as a narcissistic borderline personality (that, is, I describe her binary and vindictive behavior to a psychiatrist and she listened and just checked that list off), you wouldn't believe the rages.

One of the key features of a borderline is that you are either a savior or a saint and you can cross over to the dark side in their mind in the blink of the eye. My "psycho ex girlfriend" specialized in revenge by proxy, (for instance, I had a lovely talk with a police detective about some "photos of her I put on the internet" until I convinced him the only thing I ever did was post a video of Rock Creek Cemetery in MD to the tune of Moonlight Sonata, where she walked silhouetted in the background for 10 seconds, but you know, she sure showed me) but she was also more than willing to completely lose it personally for my benefit.

The worst thing about being on the bad side of a borderline? Most of the time you have no idea what you did, because most of the time you didn't do anything that a normal person would fault you for, the outrage existed entirely in the 2 lbs of dysfunctional damp meat between her ears.

Which is why LaViolette essentially validating the mine-field psyche of somone on the Dark Triad continuum of personality disorders, taking what she said and wrote in her journals at face value, is especially egregious.

Wouldn't you think she's more classic textbook BPD?? With maybe touch of NPD & HPD? Seriously she's got the victim mentality, never accepts responsibility, going to Sky&Chris about TA, using people for what she needs, starting issues to take focus off her, mood swings etc etc.. I'd say sociopathic due to the violent murder she committed usually PDs are abusive but not really killers like this usually Heat of Passion killers due to jealousy.. IDK what do you think??

Just getting back to court action after long weekend and can't seem to dig up exactly what went down with Juror #5 (other than dismissed for "juror misconduct)??

The judge denied the mistrial and booted #5. That's all we know so far. #5 is free to speak if she wishes

I don't know why they didn't testify for the DT. They may testify during the penalty phase though?

Early on, it was a small joke about how the hours per day and hours per week is minimal. But it has become totally ridiculous and is no longer funny at all. It is outrageous and not acceptable. The way the judge just dosnt care about the jurors is amazing to me. Just today, I heard her order the jurors to the waiting room until an officer would come get them to escort them.

How dare her treat the jurors with such calousness, with absolutely no care about their sacrifices they are making for this trial.

The judge OWES it to the jurors to make this a speedy trial and she is doing the exact opposite and causing the delays herself with the long breaks, late starts, and early releases, and no court on Fridays, Mondays, etc.

It is an OUTRAGE!!!!

The longer this drags out the more chances there are for the jury to screw up or for the reprehensible defense team to conjure up some non issue and get a mistrial. They need to tighten it up and get it over with. It's a national story, on every news channel at night it seems.

That's what I'm curious about too. Jodie said her parents didnt have alot of money. I wonder how are they affording lodging?
I highly doubt anyone's opened up their home to them. And since ebay is no longer displaying her art for sale. It's not cheap living in a hotel,including meals.

The caller then asks the judge if the alleged actions are permissible and if it should be looked into.

TA's family do not have to sit and listen to the garbage. They choose to.

Yes, they do have to be there! Somebody needs to be there for Travis. His family wants to see justice for their loved one.
