I agree with you as well. The situation in which SA finds herself is awful, and I do sympathize, however the family knew about JA's mental problems when she was a teenager, and probably earlier than that. They had time to help her, but they didn't.

Or couldn't. Its wrong to assume that without facts. I have seen many parents with kids who refuse help...physically harm parents if they try to get them into cars to go to therapy or doc visits....shut down and refuse meds or talking in therapy, throwing up meds after taking them. The evidence so far shows she would have been a pretty darn difficult kid.
