I cannot believe she is allowing that Juror to sit in the court room. To do what? Make faces at her friends on the Jury?

She can watch the entire trial at home.

IMO

Jodi Arias has her constitutional rights as we all do.

Guys, PLEASE be careful. It is okay to agree to disagree. Don't want anyone getting in trouble and getting TO'd where they would miss Monday's discussion.

Rememer - we're not all going to agree and see things the same way.

Bottom line - choose your words carefully, post respectfully and if you feel you just can't help yourself - there is that little X at the top right corner of your screen.

Why would she drive all those miles to go and see him if she was afraid of him? Seriously, SMH.

Because most abused women do not recognize the extreme danger they are in, even if they voice it. My friend made me executor of her will. On some level she knew she was in danger. I begged her not to go back to her home state where he was. She went back. Two months later she was dead.

Hey Molly,
In those thousands of words written by Travis, did he ever physically threaten anyone with VIOLENCE?

Every abuser I have ever known was really good at making threats, which they usually carried out.

When my husband and I have fought, I would be embarrassed to have our conversations made public.

Do either of us mean what we say or threaten in the heat of the moment? NO! It's called human emotion!

He also called himself a sociopath. Did you hear that?

If you really think someone is a sociopath, you would do well to not tell them, but just fold up your tent and silently sneak away. What is the point of calling someone all the names he called her?

IMO

Right, the entire thing, about evil/hitler/satan/sociopath and him being hurt worse than he ever had been in his life was just him randomly abusing poor Jodi again. There was a reason he said those things. It was not just him "trying to bring her down" as an abusive partner would. He felt those things for some reason in that moment. He was genuinely hurt and mad and upset. He wanted her to understand just how bad and felt she just didn't get it. If you really think that is how one-sided abusive relationships work then you are incorrect. Joi was the one in control, the one with the power, in that argument. Jodi was not hurting.

I don't know about Melanie McGuire. I didn't follow that trial.

But, I've been saying repeatedly, why would you steal a gun to kill him with a knife?

I was all set to go with she used the gun first, no matter what the prosecutor says, and it jammed, until I heard ALV. Now, I'm totally set back and wondering if she had the gun with her because she was afraid of him. It would fit in with her not killing him immediately--that she never had any intention of killing him until things went wrong, one more time. ALV talks about the escalating level of apprehension and fear in the relationship. Scared people can become dangerous people.

IMO

I'm in the "gun first" camp so that doesn't apply to me. And you ignore the other damning piece of evidence for premeditated homicide. Her attempt at creating a cell phone alibi and her subsequent attempt at covering up the time gap in said alibi with a voice mail message to dead Travis ("my cell phone died and I got lost driving miles in the wrong direction").

And if she brought the gun for protection, why stage a burglary? Why not just take the gun with her? She would only need to stage a burglary if she had planned on something sinister with the gun. The phantom burglar gave her an alibi. Your theory holds no water.

Travis wasn't an angel. A cheat and womanizer. But that doesn't just wash away all the evidence for premeditation in this case.

A woman can be a "*advertiser censored*" with rape fantasies (as Jodi is) and still be raped.

What? Good lord in heaven, give me strength to hold my tongue.

She was trying to "extricate" herself from abuse and her way of doing that was driving thousands of miles to him, in a rented car, packed to the gills with 15 gallons of gasoline in the trunk, a gun, probably a knife and lord knows what else?

Southern....I'm going to take a deep breath and hit that IGNORE button. :banghead:

They gave him 30 minutes today. Why would he want to break out the meat, when there's a whole weekend ahead of them to gnaw on the bone?

Better to spar a bit today, then Monday, when they don't have 3 days to prepare for it, fight the battle.

Exactly! Nurmi started with the fairy tale talk ( mistrial motion) and Juan ended with the same. Monday we get reality and hopefully no more dt shenanigans and real movement towards justice for the Alexander family. Can't wait

Yes, but what was he talking about? What had she done to deserve that tirade? We don't know, do we?

But, I have to assume ALV knows because she was able to comment on it being an extreme reaction.

A lot of the details are being kept away from us.

IMO

She can't know anything because she does not have Travis's side. I would assume she knows a whole lot about nada. She only knows Jodi's lies.

Jumping off your great post.

I am so far behind. I left today thinking, there is NO way JW will leave Juan with those last 45 minutes again. She did it twice and Juan has been able to leave the juror with some great things to think about over a long weekend. SO surprised she hasn't learned her lesson yet.

From what little I saw of the defense witness, she seems combative and not very professional. A hired gun, so to speak. If she really wanted to help JA, she would answer in a professional tone, not snarky.

What's up with Juror # 5 being there? Woah! She has every right to be there but I was very shocked.

I think Juror #5 just showed the world, Jodi, defense and the courtroom she has done nothing wrong and she not afraid to show it.

She shouldn't be able to testify to anything that isn't brought out I trial. IMO.

Listening to her testimony.

There were a lot of emails and maybe journal entries where she was allowed to characterize what was said, but not allowed to quote them. Therefore, these are items that will not be given to the Jury and have not been shown to us.

IMO

Clever deception tactic isn't it. The jury has to rely on ALV for the context rather than to trust themselves. Do you think they'll believe that TA felt betrayed and called JA evil and a 100 other names because she forgot a photo at his house? Personally I think it will infuriate the jury.
If ALV believes this garbage she's been spewing for the past 8 days then she needs as much help as JA does IMO.

You do realize you just made up a completely new story, a 4th story, and that it isn't what Jodi says happened, right?

Mike Gallanos
duh I meant Mike Brooks!
~sorry
:seeya:
also... guess everyone has a "type"
Jim Cantore
Kevin Bacon
Anthony Edwards
and......
Jim Carey

Could I add Timothy Olyphant to your list!

Jodi did all the things to Travis that an abuser does.

)Showing up unannounced at home and events
--Reading private email, sending emails from his private account
)Following on dates
--Breaking into Travis' personal accounts
)Destroying Travis' personal property
--Snooping through his personal property when he wasn't around
)Representing herself as 'girlfriend' or 'fiance' or 'victim'.

I could've TO'd 3 people in the last 7 minutes. Instead I removed the posts. Last warning. Heed the call.

Or anyone she has never met but she did. 8 days of heresay regurgitated at 250$ an hour.
