I think it's pretty clear that the jury has already made up their minds that:
A) TA never abused JA
B) JA is lying about the fog.

This is what the DT tried to 'prove' via their psych experts.
Notice how the jury questions didn't even ask about that stuff.

She is a rookie. She has nothing to add. She was strictly there to puppet for JM. I love the way JM gave her the strong cross as if he was showing he did it with everyone.

JD a puppet?? Couldn't disagree more. If she were a puppet, she never would have said anything TA did was bad. She conceded numerous points JW wanted to make. She wasn't stalling at answering and worrying about where JW was going like AL did with JM. AL is an example of a puppet, where she wouldn't even say JA driving to see Bianca was an example of jealousy.

JD is nobody's puppet. I felt she was the smartest person in that courtroom, that she was better at her job than anyone there. She may not have decades of experience, but she is already light years ahead of the other psych experts there.

Why did Dr. DeMarte give you the impression she was a puppet? Did Dr. Samuels and AlV give the impression they were puppets?

Two of the top topics in the world today guaranteed to get a gut reaction from people....domestic violence (abused women) and sexual child abuse. She chose to use both trying to gain sympathy for her act. Perhaps she hoped some battered women's groups or child advocates would fight on her behalf.

"After all who would stand up and publically declare that they had no sympathy for an abused woman or that they didn't see anything wrong with using pictures of young boys for self-gratification. She wanted the jury predisposed to take her side and wanted them disgusted by TA.

I wonder if the defense team were hoping for more support in the public and media due to TA being accused of such horrible acts as pedophillia and abuse? Did they hope a public outcry in favour of this poor battered woman? Did they expect the jury to have instant sympathy for JA and ignore the actual facts of this case?.

I have always wondered why JA's defense claim of abuse was so lame. She should have fleshed it out. As in: Travis punched me in the ribs and it hurt for a week, I though one of my ribs were broken. He grabbed me by my arms before he threw me down and kicked me. No one noticed because I wore long sleeves until the bruises were gone. yada, yada, yada.

The lies she presented are weak and not believable.

I'm glad she is ethical unlike anyone else who has tried to touch on the psychological aspects of this case.

Juan treated Dr Horn in a similar fashion at times and he's no rookie. He wants certain answers, which is why he ask certain questions and gets aggressive when he isn't getting them. MOO

Assuming Dr. Horn is set to make a return, I cannot believe there is ANYONE on that jury who would fail to make the connection between the autopsy photos and murder 1. Walmart and Tesoro will seal the DP.

I understand there are people who are consistently hitting the panic button because of a wonky question or two, but seriously? Revisiting the photos will eradicate any confusion.

I'm in the minority I'm sure (or outing myself as 2/3 of a sociopath), but I have no sympathy for the Hughes. If JM feels compelled to call them though, I'd respect that 100%.

Horrific, horrific murder. She didn't just want him dead. She wanted to torture him. He must have suffered SO much. I've never felt so strongly in my life. Not even with the Scott Peterson case.

I'm usually the kind of person who feels faint looking at a drop of blood but in this case I wish they'd bring back hanging just to use for JA.

I believe that the remainder of JM's rebuttal will be short. Focus on her pre-murder stuff and the medical examiner's testimony. That's it. I'd be upset if they jurors didn't come back with a murder one verdict within a day.

ITA. She refused to concede a couple of points from JM, saying she would need more information to make a proper assessment of the situation.

She also repeatedly said that some of the words TA used were inappropriate and indicative of an inferior communication style.

I'm starting to worry about myself thinking devious like Jodi would...but do you think it is possible, that she does something nasty to him like hacking, lying about a biggie or possibly stealing....to provoke a fight, thinking that make-up Valentine's presents and/or sex (if they were having it yet) would be forthcoming. Maybe the "relationship" is her mind only, like you say ...could this woman possibly send presents to herself, if he wouldn't? IMO, she is quite capable of sending herself presents and telling people they were from TA.

She made up a lot of stuff, including many fake people she needed to supposedly tell her TAs info she could have only found out through stalking, spying, invading his privacy.

I think she made the undies, and I think she got that idea from TAs T-shirt from some event.

People like her will do anything to get whatever result they want.

I have no idea if it's factual or just someone stirring up a mess, but I felt the need to find out if anyone here had heard about this. Another WSer mentioned a 'rumor' of the gun possibly being found, so I went hunting.
That's all I found so far. I posted to get follow up, so we'll see. As much as I want it to be true, I hope this person on Topix wasn't just blowing smoke....

Not that the stolen gun is necessarily the one she used, but that was a pistol, this is an automatic.

I hate the tiger / bear question too, it was a smart-ar** question IMO. I think there's an immature juror who's completely over it and just wants to act out. Anyway, since there's a filter at the end I just hope this person is filtered out.

Based on Dr. DeMarte's direct exam, Jodi dialed back the severity and incidences of abuse considerably from what she originally told Dr. Carp to the four she shared with RS, ALV and Dr. D. Shudder to think how much worse it could have been.
