Why can't you say 'It's wrong'?

Oscar: I understand that milady and if its negligent then I was wrong. (Seriously? He can't concede leaving a loaded firearm out of his sight isn't negligent without being pushed to?)

N asks if he thinks that's negligent, one up on a boat, gun wrapped in towel?

O: I didn't see it as being negligent....noone there that would handle my firearm.

N: It's the strangest day today, you just don't take responsibility for anything...

AND OP just conceded yes! (It was negligent).

Donald Trump would take offense if you are putting him on the same page as OP on trial for premeditated murder,

That is a gross mischaracterization of what I said. I was referring to Nel's comment that often times sports figures are narcissists and that it's what drives them to succeed. They want to be the best, they want to be seen as the best, they want to be on top. I was acknowledging the truth of this and saying it doesn't just end in athletics but can be seen in many facets of life. Donald Trump, a very rich, successful man, can be seen as a narcissist because of his need to be the best, most successful, the richest, etc.

Pointing this out does not mean I am comparing him to Oscar Pistorius. Not everyone who is a successful narcissist is just like Oscar Pistorius who is on trial for murder.

nel.. you took your gun on the boat with you??

correct..

Nel. why?? why take your gun to a party??

Oscar.. it wasn't a party it was a get together.

Nel. ok. why did you take your gun to a gettogether??

Oscar. I carry all the time.

Nel. you kept it on your person all the day?? .

Oscar. yes.

Nel. you took it on the boat??

Oscar.. I left it on a towel while swimming off the boat..

Nel. you don't think that was negligent ? a one up gun on the boat on a towel, ,while swimming?

Oscar. I didn't see it as negligent..

Nel. why?? why?? why??

Oscar. I just didn't.

Nel. a laugh a laugh of disbelief. you just will not take responsibility for your negligence..

Oscar. well. I take responsibility for my negligence..

Nel. at least you take it for this instance..

Nel. I take it you had shorts on for swimming??

Oscar. yes.

Nel your gun must have been visible then??

Oscar. I use a holster..

Oscar.. I cant recall all these details. its 2 years ago.

Nel. yu are at a get together.. where was your gun. its clipped to your shorts in your holster..

I don't know. I don't know.

Nel. you had shorts on you took your shirt off. where would your firearm be??

Oscar. it would have been concealed on my person.

Nel where on your person??

Oscar. I . well. .

Nel. everyone would have seen it.

Oscar... no one would have seen it..

Oscar. I had my firearm with me. I wrapped it in a holster..

Nel. on your shorts. there is no way you can cover a holster .

Oscar. I just cant comment . I cant remember.

Oh for god's sake, OP is arguing about a shirt now .. :banghead:

N: ...I want you to remember. You're at a getogether, on a boat, where's your gun?

O: I don't remember

O says he cannot say where his gun would have been on his person, while N pursues him, trying to get him to say he'd carry it tucked in shorts, without a shirt, with the gun on show.

N: I'm testing you...

O now concededs the gun, when on his person, would have been in a holster on his shorts.

O: I can't actually comment on this, I can't remember..

Nel's just asked if Oscar Pistorius is armed at all times. O says he carries it 'for my safety'.

.. back to passive again .. shame .. he's gonna snap at some point .. deffo ..

Talking about the cops stopping them now.

O: I left it on the car seat.

N: And that was the correct thing to do?

O: I didn't want to approach police with a gun in my hand

O has mentioned the policeman 'shouting' and N wants to know if that's his right?

O avoids saying yes.

N: He's within his rights to deal with your firearm?

O: That's correct.

Is this the incident where he's denying it ever happened?

O thinks it was correct the gun was one up, because cop ejected bullet, but he can't remember.

No that ammo was illegal and anyhow possessing someone elses ammo is also illegal

.38 ammo has never been illegal, and the charge is for possession, nothing to do with the type of ammo.

As I said, the law is complicated regarding possession.

We'll agree to disagree.

First, OP agrees with Nel that his firearm was one up on the boat .. then he says he can't remember if it was one up on the boat .. then he goes back to agreeing it was one up on the boat (this is during cross examination about the police stopping him in the car on the way back from the get together on the boat)

I understood it was illegal (in SA) because he doesn't own the firearm for it.
