RaffertyLFP: Officers pulled open garbage bags and looked through them. 25 truck loads examined each day.

RaffertyLFP: About 830 tonnes of garbage were searched by police - 366 truck loads

Officers left the site in early May, but returned after Rafferty was arrested.

RaffertyLFP: Returned to landfill to find car seat, but never located the specific one looking for

Officers were looking for the back seat of a 2003 Honda.

They never found it. Also considered searching Waterloo Region landfill, but there was too much garbage.

Considered searching Waterloo region landfill. Too much garbage to check

During this time, searchers looked thru 800 tonnes of garbage

From Apr20-May7, searchers used an excavator to look for #ToriStafford at a landfill site near Woodstock

Investigative team decided too many officers would be needed, and odds of finding anything significant would be low in Waterloo.

Court shown map of ground search between Guelph and Mount Forest

Showing areas the OPP searched around Guelph. Rafferty moves towards the screen for a closer look.

I wonder if the evidence was buried in the ground.:banghead::moo: or burned

Ground searches covered 18,144 kilometres, equivalent to one and a half times around the moon

The team returned on May28-29 to look for a Honda Civic back seat. They found a few but not one believed be missing from #Rafferty's car

Stirling says team then got info about searching a landfill in Guelph for backseat but it was too big for it to be "feasible

Officers on Stirling's team also looked for the shoes McClintic and Rafferty discarded the night Tori was killed.

RaffertyLFP: Search expanded to include clothing of Michael Rafferty, hammer, garbage bags, shopping bags

ERT team search efforts never included the place where Tori was found.

Nice. Police officers going through likely biohazardous garbage for weeks while the defendent said and did nothing to help bring a resolution to this case. :maddening:

First map shows searchers didn't search the area of the scene before July 17th. They were too far south.

Search came within 6.8 kilometres of scene where remains were found.

Police searched the area surrounding the 401 in late May, early June 2009. Looking for chunks of the Honda's back seat or discarded clothing

Stirling says OPP and partner police forces covered an area roughly 1.5 times the circumference of the moon in their search for Tori #sl

Nope, but it seems he's taking an interest in the map displayed of where they searched in Guelph.

The evidence was likely at the Cambridge landfill, which they did not check apparently. Because by the time TLM spoke out, it would have been virtually impossible to locate a few trash bags from "somewhere in Cambridge" in a landfill.

Police had searched area where shoes had been located. Stats told them in 56% of cases, evidence discarded within 1 mile of body #sl

Stirling showing map of early search, the site of Tori's remains is just north of search area, wasn't covered by police #sl

the crown should launch a civil suit against MTR to recoup some of the losses. Oh wait....he didn't work or add to society. IMO They could I suppose sell his whitewashed vehicle. His poor son who has to live in the shadow of this piece of work. IMO I hope he has a loving and responsible mother.
