Royal Caribbean said yesterday that when its crew returned Jennifer Hagel Smith to her cabin on the morning her husband disappeared from their honeymoon cruise, the bed appeared made and there was no apparent sign of blood.

But whether there was blood underneath the bedspread is something the FBI has asked not to be disclosed, the cruise line said.

"The bed was made with the cover on the bed, the sheets were not exposed and Mrs. Hagel Smith was placed on top of the cover," said Lanny Davis, a Miami-based Royal Caribbean lawyer. "The FBI has asked us to not comment on what, if anything, was found under the bedspread."

Blood was reportedly found in the cabin, according to Turkish investigators. Smith's family has said that they were told blood was found in the cabin.

Royal Caribbean said that the FBI has asked the cruise line not to talk about whether blood was found in the cabin other than to say that blood was not visible to the crew members who, after finding Hagel Smith in the corridor, wheeled her back to her cabin.

hmmm. The theory about the "beard' is making more and more sense to me.

Call me crazy but what about a "beard"? Maybe I need to go back and re-read some posts

A beard is someone who agrees to marries a gay person as a cover.

I thought that a beard was a straight person who went out with two gay people on a date as a cover. :banghead: :banghead:

Same difference, whether you marry them or date them as cover (although, to be honest, many women are unaware they are beards).

I thought that was a *advertiser censored* hag?

I thought a *advertiser censored* hag was a woman who married a gay man, like Liza Minelli. Or the beauteous Star Jones. :banghead: :banghead:

*advertiser censored* hags are women who prefer the company of gay men, although they themselves are heterosexual, and I guess some might end up marrying them, I guess. And Liza Minelli is just following a family tradition--her mother married a couple of gay men as well, and her (Garland's) father was gay.

Gee BillyGG - you sure are knowledgeable! I always enjoy reading your posts. Who were Judy's gay husbands?

Star Jones' husband is gay? :waitasec: Really?

The lawyer for one of the men last seen with a Connecticut newlywed before he vanished on a Mediterranean cruise last summer said federal agents had pressured his client for information about the man's disappearance and threatened to charge him with the rape of a female passenger if he declined to cooperate.

In his first extensive comments on the case, the lawyer, Albert Y. Dayan, said that his client, Rustislav Kofman, denied any role in the disappearance of the Connecticut man, George Allen Smith IV, last July 5 on a Royal Caribbean cruise or in any rape.

He said that when crew members aboard the ship, Brilliance of the Seas, approached his client about a missing person, Mr. Kofman thought they were talking about Mr. Smith's wife, Jennifer. He said she was not in the Smiths' cabin when his client and three of his friends put her husband to bed after a night of heavy drinking. It was the last time anyone is known to have seen Mr. Smith.

One was Vincente Minnelli, a famous director, who was Liza's dad. Poor thing she inherited his looks too. He was not at all good looking.

Star Jones' husband is gay? Really?

According to Chuck Heaton (Patricia Heaton's bro), who is the gossip columnist in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Al Reynolds is "a respected member of the gay community in New York." There's been rumors about Al Reynold's sexuality for a long time.

Thanks Kato!

I read in Greta's blog that she is in Miami and boarding the cruise ship for tonight's show. FYI.

Minnelli for sure. There were rumors about another of her husbands/lovers, but I forget which.

Anyone see the phots of the cabin they had on Catehrine Crier's show this week? I can see why no one nticed the blood--it's not like it was splashed on the walls or dripping from the ceiling. Smith clearly bled out on the tarp/canopy outside, not in the room.

Thanks for the heads up for Greta.
Greta is going to be talking about this case on her show tonight??? I must set a reminder! I have been wondering about this case lately, and I just found this thread right now.
That is so interesting about the Beard concept! :waitasec: Can't wait to hear more info!
