The tattoo on his hand is probably just the city of Dallas logo.

Yeah I forgot about Fuentes. He's easy to forget. Plus, I don't even know if Hispanics consider him one, his mom is white and his dad is half Mexican. I have no idea where he fits but he's definitely a weirdo.
I guess the jury is still out for now anyway, if the Allen Texas murderous monster was also a racist weirdo. I'm guessing no, but stranger things have happened, that's for sure.
I'd have insisted on a translator too. Can you imagine their terror if suddenly confronted by police of all kinds in their house. I haven't seen details yet, but I kind of doubt that one very polite LE member hesitantly tapped on their door with hat in hand so to speak. imoPolice searching Texas mall shooter’s home where he lived with parents: report

Apparently the shooter's family requested a translator when talking with the FBI
I doubt the parents knew nothing. Their son lived in their home until recently. They most certainly would have known if he was displaying Red Flags showing mental instability, depression, money problems, extremist views, racism, etc.I'd have insisted on a translator too. I'm hoping they knew nothing.
I meant "knew nothing" about the war weapon(s). But if he was a security guard he probably had his own weapons anyway, unremarkably. Thanks for the correction, I was thinking that he hadn't lived there for a few years, I must have confused years/ months. Regarding the rest of his possible attitudes, ailments, most of that list seems pretty common these days. What parents or family would red flag their own family member unless he was violent.I doubt the parents knew nothing. Their son lived in their home until recently. From the footage, it looks like two vehicles had a chance to drive into the shooter as he exited his vehicle. Especially the black truck. I am surprised that neither driver tried. All first responders can do is pick up the bodies because the assault rifles are so fast. In less than a minute, victims were obliterated.
You can see the footage of the shooter getting out of his car and opening fire; you will not see the bodies in this video. Video is easy to find on Twitter.
This situation would have been ten times worse if the off-duty police officer hadn’t been there. And the gunman had on a flak jacket or similar so the cop had to take him down with a head shot.
I believe a mall security person was injured—don’t know if he was one of the deceased. JMO
I most certainly would Red Flag my family member if they were acting erratically or threatening to harm himself, me or other family members. It is also irrelevant because Texas has no Red Flag law.I meant "knew nothing" about the war weapon(s). But if he was a security guard he probably had his own weapons anyway, unremarkably. The type of gun used made a huge difference to the victims in this shooting. Why semi-automatic rifles like those used in recent shootings can cause so much damageAmazing in mass shooting incidents that so many place the blame on the gun. Seven people were mowed down yesterday (killed) in Brownsville TX by a driver in a car. I may have missed it, but I have seen no mention on banning that type of car because of the unlawful actions of an an individual.
After Columbine it became a notoriety thing. Popularized. I mean that was one of the first mass shootings heavily covered by 24 hour news stations like CNN, IIRC. Tons of copycats since then, I think. The amount of mass shootings is defintely more than when I was younger. Is it the availability of weapons? I really do not know when being a mass shooter became a goal of so many. People blame mental health and the media, but some how people just did not do this routinely 20 yrs ago, IMO.
From what I've read, he was a security guard and unlike most mass shooters, ran from his car and started shooting at a specific group of people and primarily at one store. And one of his victims was a security guard. If all of that turns out to be true, I suspect they have to consider that he had an intended target, or that it could have been a workplace shooting. They don't know anymore than we do when they first arrive.
Something is very different about this shooting. The officials in Texas are trying to minimize the information. They would not use the word gun or shooting at the presser. We still have no names of victims or shooter. Normally these are splashed across the internet by now. The only thing we keep hearing is praise for the cop who shot the shooter and prayers of course.
eta: name just published in that tweet above this, but the officials are not the ones giving this out, which makes me still very suspicious about how they are trying to minimize this event and divert attention away from another brutal mass shooting.
"Investigators have also uncovered the gunman's extensive social media presence, the law enforcement source tells CNN. It includes neo-Nazi and White supremacist-related posts, and images that authorities believe he shared online, according to the official."
Live updates: Allen, Texas, shooting at outlet mall leaves at least 8 dead
Eight people were killed and at least seven others wounded when a gunman opened fire at an Allen, Texas, outlet mall Saturday afternoon. Follow for live updates.www.cnn.com
I also read an article that says although the shooter made all these posts no one had liked any of them or replied to any of them.
Of the victims, I believe one was a mall security guard and he was caucasian.

The shooter pulled into the parking lot in front of the H&M store. He didn't park his car, just put it in park and started firing at whoever was on the sidewalk and then was walking along the sidewalk, firing at others as he walked.

Here is the map of Allen Premium Outlets showing where the H&M store is located. The shooter literally was pulled up beside the last two parking places in front of the front door of the store:

"Neighbors told WFAA that the man was in his 30s and had lived there for as long as they could remember.". Quote from the newspaper article I sited. So it seems the shooter did in fact live with his parents, who requested a translator when talking with the FBII'd have insisted on a translator too. Can you imagine their terror if suddenly confronted by police of all kinds in their house. I haven't seen details yet, but I kind of doubt that one very polite LE member hesitantly tapped on their door with hat in hand so to speak. imo
I'm hoping they knew nothing, apparently, iirc, he hasn't even lived with them for years(?).
Language has no bearing on racism; think of Germany back in the day. Whites around the world don’t just speak English. From your link:
"Also, the law enforcement officials said, Garcia had several social media accounts and appeared to be drawn to neo-Nazi and white supremacist content. He was also wearing, when he was killed, a patch on his chest with a right-wing acronym."
ETA: His family needed a translator but he's a white supremacist??
And a real gun issue too; the two do NOT mix well. It's pretty much always mental health, isn't it? We have a real mental health issue in our country right now.
