The Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said police and paramedics responded to an active shooter situation around 11:42 a.m. Three adults were declared dead at the scene, officials said.

KXAN reported that the shooting took place at an apartment complex, citing the Austin Police Department.

Broderick was a Travis County Sheriff's detective that was placed on admistrative leave in June of 2020 on accusations of sexual assault on a child.
