Bond reduction denied. Trial set for Oct 14. Lets hope this doesn't drag on anymore.

I did not realize that local police chief Chris Reed(Kemah) was lead investigator on this. He drowned a month ago in a boating accident :(

So the bond reduction request was denied. How come I have him "out on bond" ?? Or he just wants that $1M bond reduced?

He's been out with an ankle tracker for over 2 years as I understand. It appears they are trying to allocate some of the funds from his bond amount to his representation

*Disposition Hearing (@ 10am CT) - TX - Anne-Christine Johnson (30) (Dec. 8, 2016, League City) - *Shaun Philip Hardy (32), ex-husband accused & charged with 1st degree murder; confessed, released from prison on $1M bond (GPS tracking), no passport & must submit to drug tests every 7 days; revised (6/12/19) drug tests every 30 days. Bond changed (7/12/19) to $500K, back in jail.
Jury trial was to start on 10/15/18, then 7/15/19, now on 10/14/19.
10/5/18 Update: Pretrial Motions hearing on 10/12.
10/12/18 Update: Motions: Order to suppress 2 recorded statements 1) Def.'s recorded statement on back porch/DENIED. 2) Def.'s recorded statement at police station/Granted. Motion to suppress all items seized pursuant to the 2nd search warrant issued on 12/30/16/DENIED. Appeals filed "Assignment Letter to Court of Appeals. Final pretrial hearing will be Pretrial Motions (in Limine). Jury trial for 10/15/18 is cancelled. 10/29/18: Appeals filed. 12/3/18: Disposition hearing to set new trial on 12/27/18.

Trial feels so close yet so far away. I'm still undecided about attending :(

Sure, why not? Shaun P. Hardy's in solitary again, must be getting restless, so his attorneys have scheduled another bond-reduction hearing for 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12. At least he'lll be in shackles. But if the judge rules in his favor, he'll be out and about again shortly. In July, the judge declined his request to reduce bond amount from $ 1 million, which landed him back in jail after his bond expired and his Daddy, Barry D. Hardy, said he couldn't get a line of credit to renew it. Last week, Shaun's attorney, Dan Krieger, filed for a writ of habeas corpus, so here we go again, with the actual murder trial just a month away. For those of you fortunate enough to have never been a close family member of a crime victim, I remind you that justice and the law are not the same thing. It's a game of legal maneuvering. Meanwhile, here's the last known photo of Anne-Christine alive, sporting a black eye from Shaun and a terrified look on her brutalized face. Let's hope law and justice intersect this time and again the week of Oct. 14.
