This explains a bit better about the 2 search warrants:
Hours earlier, League City law enforcement served a search warrant at Hardy's home in the 600 block of Chesterfield.

Initially, police hoped to "secure property" relating to the investigation — but even after their morbid discovery, authorities declined to say what they'd been looking for.

After realizing the house was a crime scene, police got a second search warrant and found human remains.

"I can't speak on the condition of the remains or where in the house it was found," League City police spokesman Kelly Williamson told reporters.

So they were there with a search warrant to get some specific property and found other evidence which lead to them getting a second search warrant that allowed them to find the body.

Betting he comes up with some tale that it was self defense. Last time he left her looking so bad and then turned around and filed a restraining order on her. Piece of garbage for sure, feel so bad for her mom and sister.
Good luck with that defense. Usually if you kill someone in self defense, IMO, you call the police, not conceal the body.

Wonder what took them so long to get a warrant. Seems like they had enough probable cause 1 week into her missing. Shaun didn't report Anne missing, hired lawyer and refused to talk to police after talking 2 police, had a broken wrist and shattered thumb, Anne reported a year ago that she thought he would kill her, she reported domestic abuse a year ago, and he was the last person to see her alive. I am glad they finally got a search warrant, but it almost seems like they wouldn't have without all of the publicity pressuring them.

Looks like the initial detective was the same guy who failed to prosecute Shaun when the first domestic abuse was reported. I thought the legal system had to legally try someone if domestic abuse is reported? The physical bruises should have been enough evidence to get him arrested a year ago... Shaun's Uncle is in the force in Galveston, which is in the same county as League City. Wonder if this played a roll in any of this. Sad to think that the police and courts failure to arrest him a year ago lead to these events. They should be held accountable for their negligence.

P.S. Looks like Shaun Hardy was just charged with murder!!! http://p2c.co.galveston.tx.us/jailinmates.aspx

He has been charged with murder!!

That poor child. I sincerely hope he wasn't exposed to much. Houston has been so warm...I just can't imagine.

That doesn't make any sense. Where was this reported? Iam worried they get him out on bail and he takes the kid and runs.
Can't put my fingers on the link right now, but it was reported yesterday that the child was with the father of the older child.

ETA: This states it a little differently, or I misread. Either way, the 5-year-old is safe.

Anne-Christine Johnson's 5-year-old autistic son was living with Hardy, the child's father. However, Stephanie Johnson says the child is now safe.

Her 8-year-old child is in the care of another former husband.

The 5-year-old was home when the body was found.

The couple's 5-year-old son was home when they discovered the body.
