How sad that his ex-wife thinks getting knocked around a couple of times a year isn't "that bad"! Wish she would have had him locked up then. But it shows how desensitized one can become to abuse over time. How many other victims of his are out there, I wonder?

Unfortunately, if she's an abuse vic, she would likely have a skewed view of what "that bad" is, where "that bad" would more than likely than not be broken bones and/or severe enough physical trauma to require hospitalization. What stood out to me in the aforementioned article was the following (emphasis, mine):

"She said his personality began to change later and that she eventually divorced him in 2002 because of the abuse and his infidelity."

Also, 2002? That's what? Over 8 years ago? The rapes that they know of began in 2009. The personality change (if accurate) raises the question of how many elderly women has he raped since the divorce? It also raises the question was the change gradual? Say over a period of months? Years? Or was it fairly quick? Say within a week? If the change was some sort of out-of-the-blue change, were there any significant events (i.e., medical problems, head injuries, death of a parent, etcetera)? Then again, she may have just said that to deflect negative "why would you marry such an abusive man?" public attention

Simon Angilda, the Grandview [KS] man accused of raping a 92-year-old woman in Leawood, has been found guilty, JL reports. Sentencing hasn't been set yet, but the jury agreed there were aggravating circumstances, which means Angilda could get more than 85 years. He probably wasn't helped by his defense -- that "he was too drunk and high on ecstasy to mean to commit the crime....."

The frightening thing to me is that there are so many rapists out there targeting our elders. If nothing else, this proves that this is a crime of control, rather than anything to do with sexual attraction.
 
Missizzy, that guy also went after a 62 (IIRC) year old woman that same day, but couldn't get into her house before cops came. In fact, that was a really bizarre and erratic crime spree that started and ended quickly. He was wasted and he tried to fight the arresting officer...who was the department's ground-fighting trainer!

I found it so puzzling because Ecstasy is supposed to make people all la-la-dancey-huggy-smiley, not violent like that!!

Twilight Rapist suspect indicted in Jackson County

Feb. 2, 2011

"Billy Joe Harris, suspected as the Twilight Rapist, has been indicted by a Jackson County grand jury.

The indictment includes counts of burglary of a habitation with the intent to commit sexual assault and burglary of a habitation on Dec. 4.

The indictment also includes a count of aggravated sexual assault of a disabled individual on Jan. 8.

Both attacks took place in Edna...."

it's downright creepy how similar these two rapists' MOs are. To go back twice and attack the same woman. Incredible.

"Billy Joe Harris wants the state of Texas to help pay for expert witnesses in his aggravated sexual assault of a disabled person case in Jackson County...."

"...DNA has linked the suspect to six assaults and Texas Rangers recovered evidence in his home from four burglaries, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Edna Police arrested Harris on Jan. 8 in Edna. He remains in the Jackson County Jail.

Thank you for putting this together. This is really sad to know someone has been doing this but your list makes the picture a whole lot clearer. I hope they hang this guy- or electrocute him. Whatever means they use is fine with me, just make him pay for the hurt he has caused. Just horrific these crimes are happening over and over. Sick.

Good Lord. How in heck did Billy Joe manage all these jobs and wives and girlfriends AND have time for his multiple personalities? I happen to think he's crazy as a fox but he just might serve as a cautionary tale (tail?) as to why no one should have a "bestiality experience". YIKES.

Last time I checked, not a single one of my dogs could unscrew a lightbulb or had any interest at all in mounted deer heads or clocks.
 
Another article with more details and a photo from court. The rape victim who testified was one brave and savvy lady!! I guess it all makes sense now. The local animal control officer was the man who took Harris down.
