I think she went home after a long day, and she heard him the second she walked in. She got angry and went upstairs with her gun... I'm honestly starting to believe this is what happened. If so, I REALLY hope there are witnesses who do NOT talk to the media before trial.

This sounds very plausible.

Oh, no ! I was actually thinking this might be enough to upgrade to murder, but do you think they might try to prove this was somehow justified?? Omg. I can't...
Yes, when you see everyone covering their butts and the woman accused getting a good story out there like she thought she was in the wrong apartment and did her best police voice (BTW, I don't recall that she ever id'ed herself as an officer. I guess that doesn't matter since she is castling this murder.) and, and and. Not necessarily justified but a tragic mistake and she has suffered enough and will suffer everyday for the rest of her life and, and, and. I haven't been able to get a bead on the local reaction of the heavy duty police supporters. But, yeah, I think they are going to pull out all of the stops.

I want to say, "Come on, neighbors, and speak up. Let's hear your outrage. Don't be afraid that the DPD will never respond to your needs. Bo needs your voices. He needs the people who live in that building and all the others like it to raise their voices. You can't let this stand."

Snip:Family members of a white Dallas police officer charged with manslaughter in the fatal shooting of a black neighbor deny allegations on social media that some of them made racist gestures in photos posted on the internet.

Some people on social media have accused the officer's brother-in-law, Noe Garza, of making hand gestures in photos symbolizing "white power." But Garza told The Dallas Morning News on Tuesday that he and other family members don't support white supremacists.

Garza said his hand gestures were meant to shape the numbers "6'' and "9'' in celebration of his father-in-law's 69th birthday.

The newspaper said Guyger's family members declined to discuss her or the shooting. End Snip:

After she shot him, she entered the apt to call 911. It was then she realized it wasn't her apt and had to go back out to see what apt # she was at to have dispatch send the paramedics. If she went down to confront him, she would have known what apt she was at.

I really doubt she shot him over a complaint about noise. Even though she's not the brightest, she would have known that was the end of her career.

Why did she need to enter the apartment to call 911 in the first place?

If you were living there, based on how biased the police have already demonstrated that this is a done deal, mistake by "Super Cop", after her 16 hour shift of catching criminals.

I am thinking that just MYOB would be a good idea. Sad we live in such a police state.

I bet all the cop presence is blue protecting blue

I gotta say the video of her here broke my heart - she did seem authentically distraught.

sorry if posted

I def think the noise comp has a role here

Botham Shem Jean was from a prominent Saint Lucian family of parliamentarians and government ministers.

oh brother
this cracked me up

Jean’s family is traumatized and disbelieving, and many people have expressed outrage against the police officer on social media, questioning the story. “I work 14 hour days regularly, and get wrecked regularly, and I’ve never once forgotten where I lived,” wrote one upset Twitter user.

“Guyger observed that the apartment interior was nearly completely dark.

She turned on the interior lights while on the phone with 911

this came after above sentence

Guyger then called 911 from her cell phone requesting an ambulance and police to the location.

The Dallas Police Department’s website wrote in 2017, “The suspect in this offense has been identified as Uvaldo Perez L/M/46. He is being charged with Taking A Weapon from an Officer, Possession of Meth, Possession of Marijuana, and Parole Violation. Mr. Perez remains hospitalized at this time. The officer involved in this incident is Officer Amber Guyger, #10702. She is assigned to the Southeast Crime Response Team (CRT) and has been on the department for three years and six months.”

On May 12, 2017, at about 8:58 am, Dallas officers from the Crime Response Team responded to the 8300 block of Reva Street after receiving information from undercover officers that a wanted female was at the location. When the uniformed officers arrived, they observed the female they believed to be wanted sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle with a male sitting in the front driver seat and another male sitting in the back seat. While officers were attempting to identify the female passenger, the male passenger sitting in the rear seat exited the vehicle after being told repeatedly by officers to remain seated. The male suspect then engaged in a physical confrontation with the officers. The suspect was able to gain control of one of the officer’s taser causing an officer to draw their firearm and shoot the suspect. The suspect was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition. There were no officers injured. This incident will be documented on case number 106261-2017

Guyger was the “sole woman” selected to serve on an “elite critical response team of about 10 officers who make high-risk arrests in the division’s crime hot spots.”

On the CNN interview, Mr. Merritt says that morning.

Then if it was from her, she must have posted them from her work.

If she did a 15 hour shift and returned directly home at 10:00 pm, then she started work at 7 am. Allowing for drive time, maybe stopping off after work for a bite to eat..... maybe her work that day really starts at 6 am, or even 5 am. So she has to get up at 5 am or 4 am, for example.

IF SHE was making the noise complaint, she did it from work and I hope the apt company / manager would have the phone # and time that call was made.

I think the 15 hour shift thing is clearly going to be very controversial. She has a highly active, stressful job. I can't imagine doing that for 15 hours. What you must have to do to keep y0urself up and alert in that job...... (if you know what I mean)

*just amateur speculation here*

From the Dallas Observer:

Jean's neighbor, a man who requested to be identified by his initials J.B., knew Jean well enough to say hello to the 26-year-old Harding University graduate. J.B. heard the shots as he was heading to his apartment.

“I stay on the fourth floor, directly across from what happened. I was walking back into the building … [as] soon as I put my key fob in through this door thing right here, walking down the hallway, that's when I heard the shots.”

After the shots, J.B. says things became quiet.

“I heard the shots, and then after that I went to my door and I didn't hear nothing else. So for me to hear the shots and then nothing else … it's like, 'What the hell was she in there doing?'

There wasn't any panic or nothing like 'I had killed the wrong guy' or 'I'm in the wrong spot.' Like, 'I just did it.'”

J.B. says he didn't know a police officer lived in his building.

What JB describes sounds like First Degree, premeditated Murder

FYI- This is CNN video where the family attorney mentions the noise complaints (starting around 3:17)

Ok

speculating

if i am following this correctly re noise

it was not her apt

it was her neighbors who complained

so lets say she gets home - obviously they know she is a cop. One of them was up or left a note on her door telling her there was noise upstairs again .

she goes up to address that

but if that is what happened (speculating) why would she make herself look like a fool by letting the world know a cop is not quite sure where she lives?

If I did that in my wild days I would really only tell a few people!!!!

???????????????????????????
