Do we know what the DoorDash order was for?

Yes, something like Lunchables and Red Bull for the next day

I had thought it seemed odd to order those items at the wee hours of the morning, but Caleb’s dad has said that was a very normal thing for Caleb to do. He had a class late morning, then was going to go fishing right afterwards, and that UberEats was going to be his lunch.

I’m not sure, but it really seems a stroke of bad luck that the complex CCTV system was not working.

And wherever the closest ones were, they obviously didn’t pick Caleb up on them either.
Corpus Christi LE stated early on in the investigation into Caleb's disappearance that the quality of surveillance-camera footage in the wider area around The Cottages apartment complex was quite poor due to a combination of the dark and what seems to have been a pretty thick fog that night.

IMO, they were right. All this time later, if there had been even a millisecond of video showing Caleb, the public would have seen it long ago.

I find myself wondering how many cars could be traveling around 3 am near CH's apartment complex. It would seem to me that there wouldn't be a lot of traffic. License plate reader data could help narrow down the suspects.

After an internet search I learned that Corpus Christi PD utilizes Flock License Plate Readers. I scrolled down on this page and saw their police department listed.

This video explains the usage of the Flock License Plate Reader system.

EDIT: I realized that the license plate readers don't work well in the fog.

Thank yall for the info on the door dash order. I was thinking that placing the order at that time was odd but if his dad said that was something Caleb would do then I was headed down the wrong path.

I still maintain that there are some unresolved questions about the order that might tell us something.

- The time was unusually late as this was Caleb's first time ordering from this store, as his usual place was already closed.
- Did Caleb go outside to meet the driver, as theorized from the start?
- Was it his habit to do this anyway? This goes back and forth. 'no contact delivery' (the driver drops it off outside the front door or other area) has been popular and even the default during the pandemic. still, I think it would be nice to know if it was Caleb's default option, or if it was usual for him to meet the driver for a 'warm handoff' anyway.
- Was the ~40 minutes or so a typical time for Uber Eats order?
- Would he have refrigerated the food right away? Most Lunchables (from what I can recall) do require refrigeration. Not sure if people tend drink Red Bull chilled or at room temperature

with it being three and a half months now, I honestly have no idea what to think. Perfect crimes do not exist. The idea of someone doing harm in foggy weather, with no CCTV images, just seems beyond impossible.

We know the apartment complex cameras were out of order. What are the nearest functional surveillance cameras to The Cottages apartment complexes?
Great question! It made me think - and this may have already been answered - but how long had the cameras not been working? Why were they not working - especially if the had been tampered with? If tampered with, who had the access and ability to tamper with them? Who knew the weren’t working - or who had access and ability to “destroy” the film so that even top forensic tech specialists can’t access it?

Moo, Absolutely random horrible things can happen to a person. This might be the case. My thoughts go back and forth, with random or someone he knew. Facts say , random is rare. So at this moment, my mind is thinking someone he knew. Someone knew the cameras were not working, they knew when he was going to order food. Again tomorrow, I could be thinking random again. I wish we had a hint or something. A person of interest, a motive, something. Driving me crazy.

Yes, it’s very frustrating that there are no real updates or new information.

According to Caleb's father, the time that Caleb placed the order was unusually late due to the arrival of the new dog and all the activity around that. By the time Caleb got around to placing his food and drink order for the next day, it was unusually late. And the store he usually ordered from was already closed, so he placed his order from a different store which was new for him.

I agree that I do not believe this was a random encounter. I believe that Caleb was lured into a false sense of security. It may have been an online encounter but my feeling is that LE would have a very viable lead by now. Three and a half months and still nothing. I posted a few weeks ago that I think the perp lived or was visiting at that apartment complex and knew the surveillance cameras were not working. This person could have seen him out walking the dog and approached him about getting together for whatever purpose. This may have been someone Caleb had seen before or casually knew and he is not concerned about in regards to his safety. Caleb puts the dog back into the apartment, places an Uber eats order, then goes out and meets the guy who takes him to an apartment nearby. CCPD said they checked vacant apartments shortly after the disappearance but did they knock on every door and question all of the residents? The person involved may have been secretly trolling Caleb and jumped at the opportunity when he saw him alone. Or it could have been a meetup that started out fine and then went sideways. Caleb left with no shoes, no keys, and no wallet. That all tells me that Caleb expected it to be a short meeting.

I wonder if law enforcement have considered this possibility, and what they could legally do about it at this point.

How can they search different people’s apartments or interrogate them about that night without probable cause? And where to begin: how can they figure out who they are looking for and which apartment? How would the apartment resident have known about the CCTV not working?

And this person would have to have disposed of Caleb. Where?

According to Caleb's father, LE did not go door to door initially at the time of Caleb's disappearance. It was a limited apartment complex search. He stated this in an interview on News Nation.

And would they have the legal right to do more extensive searches now? Without a body, there’s no proof of homicide.

Reposting this information, below, that was discussed earlier on this thread related to the possibility of someone living in the apartment complex as being involved with Caleb's disappearance.

In early April, in an interview with NewsNation, Caleb's father and the family's spokesperson expressed a great concern about the fact that the residents of the complex were not interviewed and no door to door search/interviews were conducted. So they are not ruling out that something happend at the complex.

The NewsNation interviewer, a former FBI member (Coffindaffer), said that canvassing of residences in the area is often done by LE as standard protocol in a case like this, with officers asking if the resident heard/saw anything and if they could have a look around. Coffindaffer said that at the same time they would likely ask the resident if they would review any security cameras and provide it to LE at some point.

Caleb's father mentioned that a friend of Caleb's lives at the same apartment complex and that as a resident of the complex, he hadn't hear anything from LE.

Thanks for this. So LE maybe was a bit lax in this aspect.
What can be done now?
