Just to make sure I haven't missed anything, police have not confirmed she actually was seen in Kerrville, correct? They got info she might be there? I am very curious who gave this info and if it was corroborated with CCTV or anything of the sort. I am guessing she was not seen on cameras anywhere or they may have released that footage to the public and updated the "last seen" location officially.
I'm aggrivated. Kerrville posts her case, stating SAPD is investigating. Looking at SAPD, I don't see any information. I don't see any organized, professionasl searches happening. Is this not a high priority case for SAPD? Major MSM coverage (2 days ago) but along then investigative side, nothing. The expression dangling a carrot in front of a rabbit fits in here. Do they need the public's assistance or not?

ETA I haen't gotten any response from SAPD on sm.

Without more information, I can't fault LE. Adults get to go missing.

We don't know the nature of her health condition or how or whether it relates. But presumably LE does.

In the absense of a crime scene, how can LE investigate a crime if they've got no indication of one? A specific tip could blow that wide open -- blood, a threat.

She could've checked herself into a rehab or retreat. She could be on bender in an encampment. She could be with a tinder date no one knows about.

I personally like those possibilities because they mean she's alive, living her life or working through things or both.

If I were her family, I'd be a wreck, I'd be frustrated that LE isn't doing more, but LE can't possibly devote resources to every family situation, especially when -- outside of the missing itself -- there's no indication of a crime, or even what kind of crime it would be. DV, carjacking, etc.

It really underscores that value of communicating with someone. Confide and document when there's DV, alert someone if you need some R&R time. "I'm going away, you needn't know where, just don't be alarmed. I'll return."

Not ours to know but if her medication involves mood stabilizers or methadone or chemo drugs or or or, how might that color our reactions/judgment/understanding? Were they meds she was vigilant in taking or meds she rejected? Was full-time work a development that pleased her? Worried her? Overwhelmed her? Her relationships, same questions.

If she had just gotten the promotion to full time, when was she expected to start that phase? What was her expectation for Tuesday? Was she aware she was expected at work? Was it a genuine oversleep or a schedule mix-up?

Did she drive toward work? Did she make it to work (to the lot)? Was she feeling like she'd let them down and couldn't bring herself to go in? Did she drive to somewhere familiar to think? Did she contemplate her future at the firm? Her future, in whole? Did she spiral?

Or did she meet with foul play?

KB, in Colorado, was missing for three weeks before LE elevated her story to suspected foul play. After two wellness checks. And only after her family spied blood droplets in her townhouse -- hee fiance, convicted for blugeoning her to death.

I pray this is not that.

But when a woman goes missing it's a fair ask. Horrifying but fair.

Some of the flags are there.

If she is safe I hope she'll come home soon. Or call.

And if she's not, I hope a tip will come in, with enough detail for LE to be able to launch a full, active investigation into her disappearance.

Very well written summary of the situation. So many possibilities, hoping for the safe ones.

When I go to the SAPD missing persons website, I don't see Chrissy listed as one of the missing person cases. Wonder why that is.

ETA Here is the link that goes directly to the SAPD missing persons list of cases, there are six listed, Chrissy Powell isn't listed.

Is it possible she's been located (alive) and it doesn't warrant publicity? Good news, handled quietly?

The law firm where CP worked is incredibly concerned about Chrissy, even before it was formally announced that she was missing. Someone at the law firm where she worked for a very short time drove over to her house to see if she was okay when two hours passed and she hadn't shown up for work, although she had informed the law firm that she had overslept and was on her way two hours prior to this visit to check in on her at her home. They said that something didn't seem right. Wonder what they were thinking and referring to.

Also, when you go to their law firm webpage, a picture pops up of CP with a link to the MSM article on her being missing and a link to the SA police department's missing persons website.

BBM This is interesting to me. She was late for two hours and a co-worker physically went to her house to check on her? I find that surprising. Is there more known by the law firm (that she hasn't worked for very long) about her than is being reported? I'm really curious about this. I don't think I've ever worked for a company that would assume I needed checking on if I were two hours late...JMO

I also think this is really strange. I have an assistant who has been working for me longer than Chrissy was at her job (since June 15). I've met her mother, her boyfriend, and her grandparents. I still couldn't fathom going to her house if she failed to come in. Employment is at will in just about every US state, and it seems like it would be a violation of boundaries to show up at one of my employees' houses.

Her route needs to be traced via home cameras, etc and her car needs to be found.

Is LE investigating at all?

I think we are missing some pertinent background. Is she currently dating? On line dating? What are her friends saying? Has the family created a Missing FB Page? Why would a co-worker go to her home to check on her unless the co-worker was privy to some personal info that made her go check?

Things aren’t adding up.

I agree, this is very odd. Usually an employer asks a new employee to provide an emergency contact and I would think that for Chrissy that would be her mother. I would think that they would call the emergency contact after Chrissy failed to show up after she said she slept in and was on her way.

If Chrissy didn't provide an emergency contact at her workplace when she was hired, then I would think that the employer would call Chrissy back on her cell phone after Chrissy failed to show up after she said she had slept in and was on her way. Wouldn't Chrissy's mother have heard the cell phone ringing since Chrissy left it behind on the bathroom counter? MSM articles report that it was about 10:30 a.m. (IIRC) that the workplace employee showed up at Chrissy's home. Maybe the mother was still in bed and didn't hear the cell phone ringing, or the cell phone battery was dead?

Given that the employer is a small business/law firm and really were concerned about Chrissy for some reason that we don't know, they handled this differently than most employers would.

One of the theories in your 4th paragraph is kind of what I’ve been leaning towards. I wonder what were the circumstances around her going missing a few years ago. Maybe that was a bit of an escape and with the multiple stressors she has right now, she fell into that same way to escape?

I think her mom said she would never leave her child, but I wonder if she had full custody when she left a few years ago. If so, then that means she has left her child before?

Another thought is I wonder if she has or plans to go to court for more custody/visitation. If she hasn’t then possibly there’s a reason why (I know that sometimes exes will throw out crazy things they will bring up in court if it gets to that point).

I’m hoping she’s getting a much needed break and will be home to her boys and mom soon.

I’m afraid that the anniversary thing, missing her son, the normal stress of a new job then being late to the point where the job has to call you, then maybe accidentally leaving her phone at home when already late could have possibly been enough to push anyone over the edge.

This article mentions her medication, her phone and her watch being left behind. And also that LE told her mother that the car doesn't have tracking on it.
I keep reading that she left her meds at home, but I really wonder how someone knows that for sure. I take meds and keep some in a separate container for travel and anyone going through my things wouldn’t know for certain if I have my extra container with me, or if maybe I stopped taking those meds months ago on my own.
