Oh dear. Since Thanksgiving.. :(

Yeah...I try my best to be optimistic in all these cases, but the simple fact of how long it's been since anyone saw the little guy, combined with how the mom kept averting anyone from seeing him, just smacks of Casey Anthony to me. I hope to be proven wrong, of course, but I'm just not too hopeful about the outcome here.

SAPD: Missing mom and baby may be in danger, new surveillance video released | kens5.com
[...]

The video was captured Jan. 4 inside a drug store at Marbach Road and Military Drive, police say. Just days ago, SAPD officials said they had no evidence the baby was in any danger.

However, detectives now believe both the mom and baby might be. And local FBI officials say agents are assisting in the case, though to what capacity is unknown.

Jasmine Anderson is the founder of KJ's Angels, a nonprofit focused on child abuse. She also helps families with missing children, and is assisting the family in this case.

[...]

She said the fact authorities believe both the mother and child are endangered is a major development.

"What could they possibly know that we don't know?" she said. "Do they believe one of them could be dead or harmed? It just leaves a lot of questions to the public and for the family. We don't know what to think of it yet. But it doesn't sound good."

[...]

MG said the last time she saw her niece, meanwhile, was the end of February. She said she's been asking Dlanny to see James for months, but the mom kept giving her the runaround.

MG said the last time she saw her niece was around the end of February. Gomez said since November she had been asking her niece to see James.

"I got tired of hearing that he is asleep, or we are not home," she said. "I would go over knock and she wouldn't answer me."

MG said not one family member has seen the 18-month-old since November. The family filed a missing person's report on the baby and his mother just a few weeks ago. Gomez said the mother stopped communicating with the family around that time.

Sadly it sounds all too familiar....Praying they are both found safe....

Officer Alisia Pruneda with the San Antonio Police Department said investigators believe Dlanny and James are in danger.

"It's not characteristic of her to be away from friends from family, as long as she has been with information that we have received, supporting the 7600 block of Southwest Military that last location that she was at," Officer Pruneda said. "Just the amount of love that she has for James, and we believe them to be together. It's just all reasons to believe that the investigators need to be able to contact her."

Noting:

She also said her niece, has short brown hair but added Dlanny dyes it.

"She dyes her hair but her body frame is something that she can't change," Gomez said. "She's short, like, about 4'11", maybe five foot tall."

What scenario would have them calling in the fbi while searching local parks and such? Would they call in the fbi if they believed the mom was killed locally and James taken out of country or across state lines?
